Completion day shambles
When going through the process of buying our property, my partner and I requested that everything be cleared from the property except for the bed and curtain poles. Upon the day of our completion we find a sofa in the garden, the owner did not give all the keys to the property over and there was a load of other tat and furniture in the property that we wanted to be removed. We’re extremely dissatisfied that the estate agent has taken no responsibility to make sure the property is in the appropriate state to be handed over and the fact the other sets of keys were not obtained. We are now having to 1) have our locks changed which costs even MORE money 2) liaising directly with the seller to get rid of the sofa that now sits in our back garden. We should not have to speak to the seller at all, there should have been a simple and smooth hand over process but that process has been anything but simple. I will not be recommending to anyone to go through Ocean agents if this is how we’re being treated.
