Do not rent with Budget car Ireland they commit Fraud. I had two issues. After using Budget car from Dublin airport my credit card got cloned and charges were done to it. At the time I thought it was just coincident and that it doesn't have anything to do with Budget. On my trip I had a small accident where I drove into the side of a bridge at 5km/h. I literally scrapped the car there was little damage to the car. I got a quote from my uncle and he said it will probably cost about 100-200 euro to fix and the car rental companies normally charge double on that and I could expect to pay around 430Euro. When I gave the car back I explained the situation. And they kept the 1500Euro deposit saying they would refund me the balance when it is done. I didn't like this at all but it seemed it was pretty standard. I had to wait almost a month to get an answer from Budget and they ended up charging me 1419Euro and said they would refund me 80Euro within a week. When inspecting the repair quote they added a whole bunch of stuff to it that I did not do. The actual damage that I did came to about 400Euro (like my uncle said it would) but they went ahead and added another 1000Euros worth of repairs at my expense. This is blatant fraud! Do not rent from them, if you have to take out full insurance because if you cause a few scratches they will charge you for other repair as well.
