Very basic course materials & long, 8 week+ turnaround for marking (+another 6 to get certificates)
I was recommended Future Fit as a friend of a friend had completed a course with them and apparently was very happy. I truly wish I had shopped around a bit more. The course materials are mostly text-based, with very limited videos or interactive elements, which I feel would be hugely beneficial and easier to understand, particularly for Anatomy & Physiology units where being able to view body parts, movements and structures in 3D would make it so much easier! I did ask on signing up if the course provided 'interactive' materials and was told 'yes', but I must admit as yet (I've now completed my Level 2), I am unimpressed. Yes, there are a few videos here and there, but there were none in the first units on A&P, instead I found myself resulting to YouTube videos from other learning suppliers and a fantastic (free!) Muscles & Motion app that I found to revise and learn the skeleton and muscles of the body. And for my level 2 practical revision, I used (again, free!) videos from the YMCA! Customer service also isn't great, they have always been very polite, but it's bad in that you don't always get an answer, and if you request a call-back, this isn't always followed up either. In addition, as someone else has noted, marking times are extremely long - up to 8 weeks! This seems ridiculous given the high cost of the course when compared to other suppliers, and also given that you can sign up to complete other PT courses in 12 weeks online! And if you do fail on the first attempt, which I did (on a few very minor things), you are told it could be up to another 8 weeks to get even a few tiny revisions back. To be fair, I kicked up a bit of a stink and this wasn't the case for me, I got my 2nd revision back in a few days. But then (yep, you guessed it! the waiting goes on!), it's ANOTHER 6 weeks until you get your certificate! I paid over £4,000 and quite honestly I just don't think these are acceptable timescales given this high price. I will be continuing with them on to level 3 & 4, but only because I'm tied in with the contract and pretty sure there will be no way out (as others have also said).
