Not the service we expected
Initially we were with bt and the service was acceptable but out of contract price doubled so we went with wessex internet, fibre to the house not cabinet 1/2 a mile away , guaranteed speeds etc. however in reality not much different, the coverage in the house is poorer, poss due to the new location of the router as this was relocated to " the easiest place" by the install team after some sucking of teeth when asked if it could go in the same place. we now have blank areas around the house. we were told that this could be solved and that w.i. would assist in setting up boosters! ( a real solution?) but no, a good signal was demonstrated 3 feet from the router. Also we are fairly amazed at the outside installation of the cable, through the hedge in a conduit (green hosepipe?) under the turf for 8 feet then up a rainwater pipe with cable ties, along the soffite board and then down another rainwater pipe with cable ties, a junction box on the front of the house then through the wall to the router, in all 1&1/2 hours , 5 men, two vans to fit the cable, 1hour two men to fit the router. the men were polite etc but couldnt wait to get the job done easily and get away. The fibre light package and voip phone work ok , the fibre light is no better or worse than bt. the phone is ok but the sound quality is scratchy, calls to mobiles are charged for so take care who you dial. All in all i would say that wessex internet are just another utility company looking for profits.
