Scammed, ocean view/partial ocean view same thing
Booked a room and flight to Cancun/Playa del Carmen in April 2023. Everything was fine until I went to check into my room. I paid extra for an ocean view room. The room that came with the package at no cost was a partial ocean front view room which is the one I got when I arrived. I asked the guy at the counter about it and he told me to take it up with my travel agency. I know which room I picked but I should've taken screen shots of it but did not think there would be a problem as it would be detailed in my receipt. The receipt was vague but it did say ocean view! So I'm assuming partial ocean view and ocean view are the same one just costs a few hundred dollars more! I didn't make a big deal while I was there because obviously my plans weren't to stay in my room. When I came home I called travelocity and they told me that since I didn't call while I was there on vacation they couldn't do anything. I was on the phone with them getting transferred from one person to another for about 2hrs to get that answer! They wanted me to call and spend my vacation time arguing with them on the phone while I was vacationing. Had I just taken the time to book everything myself I wouldn't have to deal with their non sense. That's the point in using a travel agency I thought was to avoid any hassle. Obviously I was wrong and will definitely not ever use or recommend travelocity to anybody unless you want to get scammed into spending money for no reason other than lining their pockets!
