Might Be Okay For You but Would Not Recommend

I started having panic attacks and my anxiety was getting worse so I needed quick help. I get the marketing for this place. It's a "doc in a box." Easy to get started and it seems more affordable because you don't have such a high cost up front, but for anyone who doesn't need just a simple one-off drug for mild anxiety and/or depression, I would not recommend. They said I would owe money once I had my first session but was charged immediately. Then I was charged again after a month with no reach-out to schedule a second session. And the 30-minute intro session only lasted 10 minutes. I need someone who is actually going to take the time to assess many things about me so we can get on an actual care plan. A plan that may require multiple medications and at least more information to properly diagnose. This felt very impersonal. I emailed customer service asking if they could clarify their payment structure as it seemed misleading and days later I got an email saying someone would get back to me and no one has yet. And when you add up the seemingly cheaper monthly costs, you are going to end up paying more than another facility in the long run. Poor mental health is a huge crisis right now at every age and this is not the time for impersonal companies who want automatic payments to do little to no work with you on helping you get better. Also, after reading all of the negative reviews on here, Brightside seems to have a rebuttal for every situation. Do you really think that someone who had a horrible experience is going to then take the time to email the "support" email? No. They are not. Also they respond frequently with "see our FAQ" but I think some of this information should be more visible so that there is actual clarity for prospective patients rather than a fallback fail-safe for any accountability. The new provider I just signed up with has in bold all over the website in various locations on the MAIN page what the payment plan is, if insurance is accepted, and how every process works with appointments so that you fully know what you are walking into. The same information is then repeated in every email and phone correspondence. They literally schedule an initial phone call before any official appointment has been made or money has been paid simply to see if you have any questions also. Practices like this with the utmost clarity should be standard. Especially when dealing with folks who are struggling like this. This is our livelihood. Our time. Our money. I cannot say this was my experience with Brightside.
