Communication could have saved our experience
The whole renting process with Keenans has been quite difficult from our viewing of our current property we fell in love and set a moving date which is where hell unfolded. The whole week before we were chasing for our contracts to sign which has the incorrect date on which we will be chasing to correct - arriving at the property on key exchange day was possibly the most stressful day of my life, we had no power, no heating and the property was dirty and still full of the previous occupiers things. Whether the letting agent or the landlords fault I would expect this to all be rectified and sorted for us to arrive or even jusy a phone call to let us know..baring in mind this had already been pushed back 3 days. We spent 2 days chasing our electric provider, we missed Christmas parties, we had the most stressful week. Eventually after asking to speak with me a manager twice on the evening the lovely Emma finally contacted us, she arranged for a gent called Anthony to come out who managed to help us get the support we needed to get the power back on. We eventually move in another 2 days later than planned. Emma completely went above and beyond to try and fix what was a horrific situation, even getting someone around to clean on such sort notice! She did everything within her power to ensure that myself and my fiancé could comfortably live at the property and we could sort out all the other bits afterwards. Minor issues still stand, which we will be picking up on the new year however having spoken to Alex when there were some issues with our oven I am hopeful we can get everything all ironed out and finally feel like this is our home. What I feel this situation could have been fixed with is some communication, it could have been avoided it needing to be escalated up to Emma if we’d have just been kept in the loop.
