This company has sent me texts the last…

This company has sent me texts the last couple of days claiming they’ve contacted me yet I haven’t had their number appear on my mobile phone. I emailed them a few times but never responded. I’ve never heard of this company until they sent me the text messages!! This is VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE for not responding to emails, I literally have no idea what they want.

SCAM.

SCAM. Received a call stating that I owed money and then requesting my email address and bank details! Obviously, I did not give these and hung up. Over the following 3 months I received numerous phonecalls requesting that I call them back. After the 3 months worth of calls I answered a call and told them that if they wish to contact me again they will need to send me a letter. They then proceeded to ask for my address! I said to them that surely they will be able to access my address from their system if I owe them a debt. This was around 2-3 months ago. Since then, I have not received any more calls as I assume they realised I will not answer. I have, however, received many, many texts stating "Further to our letter, please contact us..." but still no letter! Obviously not, as they don't hold my address, or email address, or bank card details, as this is a scam. I blocked one of the numbers that they used so since then I receive less texts, however, they continue to send threatening texts from another number which I now continue to ignore. Please do not fall for this scam.

I'm so not surprised by these negative reviews! They actually used a company to track my address down for the sake of £38! Clearly this company are struggling and need every penny they can get 🤣 sad thing is they're hassling me despite me telling them I've been unwell in hospital.

Keep trying to claim money from me

Keep trying to claim money from me, I paid the first time they asked but now I am concerned as they keep asking for the money over and over even after acknowledging the debt is settled in writing. Do not pay these guys, they are a con!!! I've been scammed.

Shady and underhand-Dont paye creditors in reasonable time!

Shady and underhand. So they were collecting nearly £250 of overdraft back for Santander that they received money for via a payment plan. So that's where things get really dodgy... Wescot send me a letter saying they "bought" the debt from Santander. Santander maintain its been bought but for 2 years it never shows on my credit history even when another debt was bought by idem that showed up? So for a company that claims to be ethical and fair they harass and lie through there teeth and also they don't send the money to your creditors for up to 21 days. This I have proof of. So wescot can accrue interest. If you want bad service for a debt to be collected I really suggest go to someone else. Also I have proof of money going out and them holding it. 21 days from step change paying them to Santander receiving it.

BULLIES-LIARS-DEGENERATES- HARRASSMENT…

BULLIES-LIARS-DEGENERATES- HARRASSMENT TYPICAL DEBT COLLECTORS-only interested in their own profits extorted from the old-disabled and vulnerable. A disgrace- no doubt the employees of this company will have their own serious issues brought about by their association with this company. DEBT COLLECTOR is a DIRTY WORD.

Not what I expected....

I’ve dealt with more than debt collection agencies in the past and not had a very good experience not to mention the fees. However, the two agents I dealt with at Wescot were super friendly and actively helped me in looking at a way to settling the account. 5*s to them! (Their names slip my mind) They gave me time to get advise from other organisations and froze and fees, charges and interest. I’ve not found a solution that’s equitable for everyone involved. Thank you for being different.

They're all the same..

Recently this past week there was an automated phone call at my parents house asking if I lived there. It was difficult to understand where this call came from.. Then a couple of days ago a letter arrives from 'Westcot'. Turns out it was a Notice Of Debt Collection... as I looked into this further it turns out that this was to do with something from back in September 2018. I sold a new item on Ebay, the buyer paid and as usual I send the item once funds have cleared. A few days after posting I receive an email from EBay saying the buyer was 'a suspicious buyer' therefore do not send the item if you haven't already. Thanks eBay you should really of contacted me sooner! Nothing happened after this and I never heard from anyone until before Christmas when PayPal were contacting me about a chargeback. I had no idea what this was so I contacted them. Long story short the chargeback was to do with the suspicious buyer, apparently the card holder didn't issue the payment. PayPal did not cover anything as I stupidly believed the buyers reason for needing it posted somewhere else. Now I am somehow meant to give the money back to PayPal, so they have instructed Westcot to bother my parents landline. In the meantime I have contacted PayPal, Royal Mail, a past seller that this buyer purchased from before me and also Actionfraud where this has all been recorded for further investigation. After reading other reviews on Westcot it seems like a lot of them are negative. Personally I think debt agencies should not be aloud to make people feel even worse than they already do, no one wants to be in financial struggles and no one wants to be a victim of online fraud.

This company needs to be reported for…

This company needs to be reported for harassment. They call 5-6 times a day usually mornings using various numbers which is not ideal as many people work during this time but my wife works nights so when these calls are coming in she is sleeping. Quite possibly the worst debt collector 3rd party company (yes not real bailiffs but instead private companies that have absolutely no powers but consider themselves above the law) I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and I have dealt with Lowell Portfolio! Also the debt is for an absolutely ridiculous time when Santander were charging extortionate fees for going over your agreed overdraft by one pound or late payments. Seriously does anybody reading this think £75 charge for £1 overdraft excess is legal? If it is then it's highly unethical and from one of the worst banks in the UK. I shall be contacting them to explain that but for now we have to deal with the endless harassment over £300 that warrants 5-6 calls daily!
