Dreadful company
Dreadful company, in particular the Saltcoats branch. High staff turnover always a red flag. Avoid this place.
Wescot Credit Services Ltd has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
My experience is based on multiple dealings with Wescot. Every 6 months they insist on updating your file with an afford...Read more

This is a message for anyone and everyone out there about how to deal with wescot and the likes of them. Remember this country is run on consent so don’t own up to anything until they prove there claim against you is lawful(99% of the time it’s not)which they will not be able to do. Right to start with no-one is under any legal obligation to deal with wescot they have absolutely no jurisdiction over anybody.a lolly pop man has about as much power as this lot. because they are a 3rd party which whom(you) do not have a contract with you need to ask them for details of where they got your details from.file a complaint to the financial omnibudmen and tell them your gpdr has been breached!data protection in easier terms. deal with them via e mail.keep copies and send the message also to a verified inbox to say the e mail has been delivered and opened. go onto company house and find out ceos names and then address them by their full names asking for proof of claim. Wescot can’t be held accountable for harassment or malicious communications but real living names can,so always address them in writing with there full names then this way they can and will all be held accountable for harassment, malicious communication data protection breaches without any proof of claim. Ask them to provide you with proof of claim(so that being the original debt to the original debtor contract)ask them that you want to see deed of assignment.the debtor will sign the debt over to the buyer wescot if they can provide one which they will not be able too 110%. they buy you’re personal information tricking you into thinking you owe money when actually when that debt was taken on by the likes of wescot it was actually wiped clean and paid out via an insurance policies .hence why you all get a dip in your credit rating shortly after. When a debt is passed on that debt is wiped clean and the money owed to that company is paid back via insurance policies.your be paying that debt twice if you contract with these vermin.that’s how these companies thrive.tricking and scamming people! these companies then breach data protection gdpr buy purchasing your personal information for money which in itself is an unlawful act and is harassment and malicious communications sending letters that makes one(you) feel anxious or threatened in anyway. Don’t contract with them ask for proof of claim and deed of assignment.they will claim like they all do that you yourself need to go into court to get one but as soon as you do that you’ve contracted with that company. Get educated people because they are literally like rats feeding off alive bodies.
ITS A SCAM! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY! RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING WE OWE £100 TOWARDS WATER RATES FROM 2020, ASKING US TO CONTACT THEM ASAP AS FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN FURTHER ACTION. WE HAVE PHONED THEM TO ASK FOR PROOF OF THIS SO CALLED DEBT!
Back in 2012 I got into debt, but I got it written off with a Debt Relief Order. On March 7th this year I got a"payslip"letter from Wescot, and after that I got another letter saying I owed nearly £3000.I knew it had been covered by the DRO so I got in touch with a local money advice charity,I also contacted the Insolvency Service and they kindly sent me details of the date and ref number of the DRO. I passed these to the advice charity, who wrote to Wescot.Surprise surprise,Wescot have now withdrawn the client account for the alleged debt, and the balance is now zero. So,my advice to anyone who gets letters etc from Wescot would be to contact a money advice charity..NOT one of the firms that will charge you for advice. The one I used is part of Community Money Advice and have branches in various parts of the country if you search their website. WESCOT ARE SCAMMERS,DON'T BE AFRAID OF THEM!
I am writing this review on behalf of my mum who is a pensioner & is not very good with this type of thing..my mum has now had three letters from this company claiming that they are collecting a PayPal debit my mum is elderly & doesn't even have a PayPal account..The name on the letters are not my mum's name but the address is correct..we will not be paying them a penny..But all these letters are causing my mum distress & worry what she doesn't need at her age I have reported them to fca & am waiting for a response from them
Very professional company, they helped me pay off my tesco loan and were excellent to work with. Now I am debt free thanks to westcott
Further to my adverse review dated 30/11/22. Paypal has now replied to our notice under the Data Protection Act 2018 when we sought to see ANY letters, e mails and notes of telephone discussions between themselves and Wescot. Their reply simply says that they have had NO contact whatsoever from Wescot in respect of our name. So they have nothing to send on to us. The Vice President of Paypal is we understand taking this matter forward with the relevant financial authorities to ascertain exactly what has been going on with all these letters from Wescot.
SCAMMERS IGNORE ANY CALLS/LETTERS !!!!!
Absolute scam, PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY SINGLE DETAILS!!! The 5 star reviews on here are written by the company to trick you. They are parasites trying to scam people over Xmas if things are not hard enough already. DO NOT GIVE THEM A SINGLE DETAIL, PUT THE HORRIBLE LITTLE PAYSLIP LETTER IN THE BIN.
Scammers! Sent me a letter about a made-up debt to paypal, asking to pay them money! Maybe if enough people report them, these disgusting crooks will get shut down.
Scam harassment company, they'll find your details somewhere (not even up to date details as people at a place I used to live years ago get harassing phone calls asking for me) then go on and on about how you owe money in voicemails even when you've had no accounts that they could possibly have bought the debt for. Very shady company and I would report them as soon as you get a call.
Harassing calls. Silent line, then eventually a robot "message" for somebody with my first name and only the initial of my last name. Seems like a total phishing scam where they phone loads of numbers to see if they get lucky with somebody who has debt and a name that fits. I have no debts that I've defaulted on, and no genuine lenders have asked for money. Total scammers. Update - now received a text saying they now "manage" my PayPal account, and need me to call them to let them "know how we can help". Apparently they will send me a link separately in a few days for me to fill in a form. Absolutely stinks of fraud. Another update - received a letter in the post saying that the debt is for a very small amount, the kind you would be inclined to pay just to get rid of them. If they contact me again, will be reporting to trading standards, the FCA, and the police for harassment.
Amazing Customer Service. Spoken to Katie on several occasions and she always goes above and beyond to provide the best service. My journey to go debt free is much easier thanks to her, as I have a plan in place and I know I can call Wescot if anything changes and they try their best to help.
This company has been harassing me for 6 months now with letters and calls I set up a direct debit with them and they are still harassing me after checking trust pilot I will not send them money again
I am disgusted that I have to give this bunch of criminals one star to even post a review! They need to be closed down by the FCA immediately! Got home to post from them asking for me to call them, no real letter or explanation and I know I have no unknown or unpaid debts. On the phone they admit it is nothing to do with a debt but they want to confirm a previous address. I tell them it's none of their business and they have no right to that information, I want no further contact and they are to wipe anything regards me from their records. They agree they have to do this. Cannot help but think someone more vulnerable would have been caught out. These are the lowest of the low, the FCA needs to refuse to regulate them any longer and force them to stop trading. Money saving expert and other sites are full of info on their dodgy behaviour and fishing.
Scammer company. It is sad. Government allow post scam to run like this. It is going to bin.
Hopeless and they do not care about 1 Star reviews but please just ignore them. They rely on o you paying as they buy debt. Their only recourse is to go to court and they will not as they do not have the resources to do this
Received a letter in a similar name to mine, but not my name, to my address, claiming I was in debt to a water company. Not true. I called Wescot - yes, they were very nice, but as soon as I said I didn't think this letter was for me, I was told that the details had already been updated to the correct person and I had nothing to worry about. The person couldn't get off the phone quick enough in order to, I presume, attend to someone more vulnerable than me. Please think twice before thinking this is legitimate.
Had several letters from Wescot chasing me for payment of a fraudulent account set up in my name. Westcot keep insisting PayPal will not uphold my dispute and PayPal although sympathetic have escalated the problem. Still waiting a call back from them. Wedtcot keep asking me to "just " pay but I told them I won't as Its a fraudulent account. I think they hope to wear you down so Don't pay. I'm now going to ignore them and close my PayPal account. Worries me that it's so easy to set up a fraudulent account with no proof of identity and you end up being chased continously for the debt.
Harassing calls, very much seems like a phishing scam. The name mentioned is somebody we do not know, and considering we’ve had the number for 8 years? 100% sure it’s a scam if you’re unsure if you actually have debt check your credit history and contact any banks/companies you deal with to check! Just block them, we haven’t been sent any letters so clearly have no addresses and are just trying their luck with random names and numbers. How can scammers like this still get away with harassing people with phone calls yet can’t get names right? Lol
