Travis Perkins Plymouth (Sutton Road) have been absolutely amazing, going above and beyond to help our youth theatre bring a performance to life at Totnes Castle. Matt and Mack have borne been so helpful and giving of their time and energy, Mack single handedly delivered Heras fencing up to the castle in the heat, thank you!
I realised I had made a mistake with an online order for 4 fence panel's when I received a text notification of the date of delivery. They were due for delivery from a supplier in 2 days time. Slightly stressed, about the possible cost implications if I was too late to cancel the order, I had a problem as the website contact number was incorrect. I had a call with Mark (workington Store) who put me in touch with Stuart ( Online team) who sorted it out for me. He cancelled my order with the supplier. Both were friendly, understanding, professional and quick to act. Thanks for great customer service. Lynn
Travis Perkins Rhondda are superb. I have been buying stuff here regularly for when I visit to help get my daughter’s place sorted. They have simply been great from the start. Advice on setting up an account, making it easy to order with them, helpful when I go into the branch. Friendly and accurate info always supplied. Bought from them over six times , had deliveries four times and all gone perfect. Danny, Ryan and the rest of the team, I thoroughly recommend you.
I had an urgent need for bricks and building sand, as I had my bricklayer for a few more days.
I called the Canterbury branch, and Mike was invaluable; he visited the site on the same day to ensure I could obtain the correct bricks for next-day delivery, as the bricks I had ordered would have taken another week to arrive. The delivery driver was also very helpful. Best team ever.
Phil at the TAUNTON branch - extremely helpful, professional with a definite "can do" attitude. We thank you arranging a prompt delivery of a mini-digger when we had been let down, you saved the day!
Brentford Branch -unprofessional customer service at its worst
On entry, one of the staff members had his feet up on the steering wheel of a forklift, browsing the internet on his phone.
The same staff member, when he actually realised there was a customer on site, shouted me down and asked if he can help me.
I was a bit startled by his approach l, and he explained some process about staff logging a ticket before a customer enters the grounds. I told him that has never happened before when I have been there on numerous occasions. Every thing seemed relatively fine at that point.
When I told him I was just looking around, he then decided to tell me that he was "confused" because people normally come here for something. I then told him I was looking at buying some wood sleepers, to which he proceeded to show me where they were.
The same staff member continued to say he is "confused" at why i just want to look and said" if I'm not going to buy anything then I should not be here". He then walked off and a female colleague took over.
At that point I understood there is a health and safety policy in place and that staff members need to follow it so there are no issues around that. However, the staff members approach to customer service was very questionable as he presented as quite hostile towards me just because I wanted to look around.
I was approached again by the female staff member who asked me if I needed any help. I laughed out of disbelief as she just witnessed what had happened and I said to her that her colleague clearly pretended not understand me even though I spoke English and kept pretending to be confused for some reason and was rude to me.
The serious concern and the main point of my complaint is the staff member's approach as he continued to berate me and became verbally aggressive , to the point where he told me to "f** off". His female colleague was present and she said " both of you need to calm down", even though it was clear her colleague had been rude towards me. The other staff member continued to direct profanities at me, which is just beyond unprofessionalism.
I have reported this issue to staff member called Michael (who actually seemed quite shocked at the behaviour) and expect the matter will be dealt with internally.
Overall, this staff member is clearly a liability to Travis Perkins as I will be escalating the incident to head office.
Elland Road Branch - I don’t often do this but wanted to praise the team at Elland Rd branch. Tony the delivery driver was super friendly and helpful and wasn’t deterred by the difficult access to my site ( others I’m sure would have headed back to the depot) and Rich in the office provided friendly and knowledgeable advice on the kit. In future I will always call these guys first. I can’t praise them highly enough
