I hate spending money on insurance, however there are times when it must be done and travelling is one of those times. I got a couple of quotes over the phone and then hit the internet where I found Travel Insurance Direct (TID). TID offered good cover, certainly all that I needed, and they were better on price than the other quotes I had. Both the quote and sign up processes were quick and easy online. I received communication from TID both pre and post trip which I see as good customer service. No need for me to make a claim so I can't comment on how good they are if you actually make a claim, but from the experience I have had with them I can't imagine that they would be any less helpful and efficient. Overall - Quick, easy and well priced.
I booked my recent Bali trip through TID as I always book with you and have made claims in the past that were dealt with very well by the company. My partner also booked through you and on booking there was nothing on the website to say the policy had to be taken before 2nd July in order to have cover due to the volcanic eruption. I read the entire policy and understood that it was only foreseen disaster that wouldn't be covered. Well the ash cloud had cleared, so how can we foresee it would erupt again? If the notice (now displaying on the website) had been there to say policy had to be taken prior to July 2 we would have gone with another company. As it appeared fine we went with you. Now my partner is stuck in Bali and has had to fork out close to $500 to get a flight on another airline in order to make it home for work. As well as being out of pocket for hotel, transport and food. None of which you will cover. Other companies are covering as long as taken out before the start of August. Very disappointed in the lack of clear communication.

TID was a very simple and easy to use travel insurance company. I was very happy with their customer service and support. The app and website were both extremely helpful. I would definitely use them for my next trip.
Usually pretty satisfied with TID, however I was disappointed that we weren't directly informed about not being covered should we get stranded in Bali due to the volcanic ash. We purchased this insurance specifically to cover this and there was nothing at the time to say we wouldn't be covered. Now we are running low on funds and stranded in Bali until further notice. Not only that, we no longer have insurance as it expired a week ago when we were supposed to fly home. We can't afford anymore insurance as we need to spend anything we can for accommodation and food.
Our whole family is using TID every year for numerous travels and we had to claim twice in the past. Both times we received exceptional service, the paperwork was easy to do and straightforward and TID covered everything we had to claim. We can't recommend this travel insurance high enough.
This has become our "go-to" travel insurance for their offerings with reasonable price when all other travel insurance discreetly hides their cut-backs on exemptions that are obviously more likely to happen to a traveler. TID gives us the peace of mind we needed to enjoy our travels.

I travel overseas every year and use TID each time. Thankfully my partner and I have only had to make two claims in the past decade, and each time the TID cover has worked without hassle.
We have just returned from a trip to Bali. With the threat of ash cloud spoiling our plans we had several occasions to contact TID to get confirmation that our airfares and accommodation costs would be covered if the worse case scenario came about. Both times we were reassured that we would be covered and as it turned out had no need to claim. We have used TID in the past and will do so in the future.
I have been trying to make a claim for a damaged suitcase. I was damaged beyond repair, but finding a repairer for a quote and SENDING the suitcase to NSW is unreasonable. The online forms are not easy to manage in this case (and I would imagine damaged cases are common). Please modify your procedures.
I have used this company 2 times now unfortunately the first time I had to make a claim. The process and the person I had assigned to me was prompt and friendly Fortunately the 2nd time I did not have to claim I am very happy with the services and will be using again
Recently I traveled with friends who also had TID insurance. One became sick & I had to contact TID on their behalf. I can't fault TID on their response & assistance during a time of need. My friend had to be flown back to Australia early due to a medical condition. Thank you to the staff at TID for your assistance & patients.
