Review summary
Rightmove has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
Find the agents in your area and email them direct- much easier than Rightmove
Right move is set up to sell financial services (like mortgage products) and promote estate agencies that pay for additional promotion.
Registration is painful, taking 5 mins to wade through their security protocols
I would give minus stars if possible.
Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
Van Mildert really helped during the whole process of moving into my first apartment, explaining me what I needed to do and how to spend less, Rachel really helped me with the internet subscription and was really nice on the phone!
A dodgy site if ever there was one. Often the adverts dont reflect the property at all. Such as "detached house" actually means 4 rooms to let. The filters dont work because if you block shared property they just list them as HMOs instead. Dates dont add up etc, etc The whole thing just smells of a big rat and rightmove themselves couldnt give a ........... take it all with a pinch of salt or better yet go elsewhere.
In response to their reply below, yes of course dodgy estate do dodgy but you should be doing your own scrutiny not asking us to do your job and even when we do you just ignore it anyway. You must have trouble hiding all the brown envelopes full of cash for your silence!!
Absolutely unhappy with the experience that I have been put through. Our application required a guarantor additionally for me in which my part of the rent is about £350. I provided a guarantor who has three takeaway businesses, three houses, multiple flats on top of the take aways all rented out and two trailers and still the application was denied. If they cant be a guarantor for £350 then I am really not sure who exactly is meant to be the right guarantor. Not to forget that whilst working full time myself I have had to keep taking time out from work to make sure that I chase up all parties and see what the progress has been like. If there was a choice then I wouldn't be choosing Van Mildert ever.
Like Rightmove but I find it really annoying and misleading when they fudge the ‘added on’ date for a property. I’ve been keeping an eye on the Isle of Wight property market and there a several properties that have been on for ages but have added on dates that don’t reflect how long they have actually been listed.
I am a landlord with a small property portfolio. Used and estate agent (Marsh & Parsons) to find a tenant and on finding an american tenant the estate agent requested a credit/landlord check. VM provided a Final Report stating the the overall result was to ACCEPT (in green letters) the tenant. On reviewing the VM final report on (1) affordability (2) landlord reference (3) Employment (4) credit data overview all of searches were N/A (NB: I assume they could not get the information from USA). VM did have the address history of the potential tenant in Texas, however, they indicated they had not conducted a credit check on the Texas address. I cannot believe they would recommend ACCEPT a tenant with no information apart from the home address in Texas !
Spoke to Rachel Robertson who was simply a joy to deal with, her professionalism, knowledge, coupled with her energy made the experience thoroughly enjoyable.
I work in customer service so I have a fair idea of how the customer experience can shape the relationship, and Rach was fantastic 10/10.
Well done and thank you for your assistance yesterday!
