Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
We're going through the referencing process at present but we've found communications and processes very poor so far. They promised to send our guarantor an email with the final documents required but this has not been received. Hopefully things will get sorted on Monday. Will update upon completion with final thoughts.

This company has made life for my family and I more stressful than it already is. We were asked to have a guarantor for the property we will be renting out for a year; the guarantor is a doctor and the poor man had to sit down for hours going back and forth with them because he knew we needed to move in urgently. The guarantor had a phone call and was told to expect and email (obviously didn't receive it). By the time he had sent the required documents they may have needed, the office had closed and now our move-in date has been postponed. I seriously think they read our names and thought 'lets treat them differently and give them a hard time'. We have already given a notice period for the current home we're living in and will not have anywhere to go unless Van Mildert decides to have some sort of urgency to get things done for us. The doctor had filled in a form and was meant to type in Β£10,000 but he mistakenly wrote Β£10 now the agency were so stupid to think that he genuinely meant to write Β£10 in his savings. The doctor had said "who in there right mind would think Β£10 is enough to be someone's guarantor, ofcourse it was a mistake, anyone can mistakenly make an error on a technical device". They love to constantly pester us when they need something but when we respond we don't get anything back. The communication is non existent with this company. No empathy and so disgraceful.
