Do not purchase from JoAnne Fabrics!

On 8/30/23, I placed an order on the Joanne fabrics website. I paid thur Paypal, in less than one hours time I received a emai conformation and immediately contacted them regarding an error on my shipping address. I moved almost a year ago, and changed my address in paypal, but apparently the old address was on the account also. The billing address was where I live now, but the shipping address came up at the address I no longer live at. When I called and requested they change the shipping address at the order I just placed and asked to change the shipping address to the correct one, they said they couldn't do that is us against their policy and one the order is placed that is it, no changes will made. I than asked them to cancel the order, and I would reorder making sure they had the correct shipping address so I could get the order that they placed a hold on my checking account for.Their answer was no they can not cancel any order, that was placed. This all within an hour of the order. I was on the phone with them very day regarding this matter, including Pal pal Who contacted them asking for the same resolution, please change the shipping address, or cancel the order. They did not repond back to pay pal. Paypal informed me they could not do anything until it was shipped and I did not rexeive it. Again back to calling JoAnnes, talking to 2 differen't customer service reps I was working with. The first Sonny told me thur an email, I could cintact the shipper and they could re route the package, I asked who the shipper was, he didn't know and would not know till it left the warehouse. It was shipped 32 hours later thur Fed ex. I contacted Fex ex, they said they could not re route the package, because I was not The shipping company "Joannes" and I would have to contact them to change the address, so I would receive the package. After calling again, they informed me thur email they would just a a curtesy one time FAVOR to give me a refund when the order shipped to the wrong address they were shipping it to. Before I got that email, I called and talked to Gina in customer service and she seemed irratated and told me that Sonny had already addressed in an emai, I told her I hadn't received it yet and checked on it. Afew minutes it csme thur, stating they were going to refund after shipping out merchadise, and I would have to call them again to ask for a refund. A partial of the order was the order was shipped 32 hours later, 31 one hours after I contacted them about the issue. With the wrong shipping address, and the took $43.12 out of my account, money cleared 91/23. And was delivered 82 miles away from where I live. I contacted them again, got Gina, who stated no I would not get a refund until the whole order was shipped, on back order from their warehouse. I asked her when that would be? 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks a month or more? She said she didn't know. So they have $43.12 DOLLARS OF MY MONEY, I HAVE NOTHING! Paypal has opened a dispute, with a hold on funds taken, and any future attempt they take to charge more. Paypal is also doing an investegation on they ratings and other complaints about the company. Paypals position the same as mine was they were given immediate notice of the problem and took no action to make sure I would receive what they took the money for.I have been to many websites, like yours all have a rating for Joannes one star out of five. Wish I had checked first. One lady, stated she placed an on line order with them, the next day Joannes cancelled the order themseves and doubled charge her account for the order they cancelled. I have gone to several rating sites, to let other consumers know the bad ethics and dishonesty in this company, ESPECIALLY BEFORE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING SEASON. My purchase was for yarn for Christmas presents, have arthis in both hands takes longer to crochet, thats why I ordered now! Can't re order or buy else where, they are holding my money. Have also alrwady filed a complaint with thr Federal Trade Commission, abd have a report #, they will also be doing an investagation, based in consumer ratings and complaints. Don't put yourself into my situation, Joannes doesn't care about it's customers and their satifaction, just the money and sales they can steal from consumers.

Rachel,manager at the Fayetteville Ga store

Rachel a manager at the Fayetteville Ga store made my experience amazing. I ordered a GX37 sewing machine on line and when I received it it would not load the bobbin I chatted with Angel on the chat line and she as also helpful but couldn’t solve the problem.She referred me to the service centers but they were all at least a hour plus away from me. I called the store and Rachel immediately gave me options. She said we can take it back,exchange it, or you know what if you get here at 9am I will take a look at it. I was there at 9am the next day,she greeted me looked at it and immediately saw the problem. She exchanged it after she opened, checked and threaded the new machine all the time smiling and having conversation with me about sewing. She turned what could have been a discouraged customer into a extremely happy one. Thank you Rachel and I will have no problem driving the 30 minutes from Griffin to shop at your store ❤️

AWOL Yarn Order

I made a yarn order on July 23. The ETA for receiving the order was between Aug 4 - Aug 16. Fast forward to today, August 29... I still have not received it. Tracking information says it is still at the International Hub. I contacted customer service last week and have gotten 3 emails stating they are working hard to find it and resolve the issue. At this point my project is finished with something close and I no longer have need for it. I spend $50 thus far for a promise and no delivery. I will be calling tomorrow to see what kind of run-around I will get from customer service.

Ordering from Joann Fabrics online is a total nightmare. The website is beyond slow. My order for pickup showed that there were 10 of the item in preferred store, but when I placed the order it showed that it is not available for pick up & I would have to have it shipped & pay $10 for shipping. Then I tried to use the coupon available on the website, but it would not take the coupon code, even though the coupon code popped up on their website as I was ordering. Needless to say, I will NEVER order from Joann Fabrics EVER again. There is too much competition from other online stores to waste my time ordering from their slow & pathetic ordering process.

Worst Customer Service Ever

I placed an order and received confirmation, then 2 days later a shipping confirmation, I tried multiple days to track the order but it kept saying "waiting for Carrier pick-up" After 10 days I emailed them and got a canned reply that they needed to escalate the request to a supervisor. 2 days later I called and was told that they could not "re-ship" an order that had never shipped in the first place and they had refunded me. I could place a new order and wait for another 10 to 14 days to see if it actually shows. This company has the absolute worst customer service in the world!

3 weeks, still not shipped

Ordered a sewing table on 8/3 and had several weeks of "it's stuck in the system but we're working on it" emails from representatives. Gave up on 8/26 and told them to cancel the order, to which they replied they would "try". They're either lying or extremely incompetent.

Very happy with my purchase

My products arrived in great condition, a week earlier than originally posted and the communication from Joann regarding my shipment was fantastic. I was actually surprised as we are experiencing a huge number of wildfires in our area and I wasn't sure if they would be able to deliver due to road closures etc. Super happy and will be ordering again. 🇨🇦

Poor Store Operation / Availability

I received notification that my "store pickup" order was ready on 8/21. I notified Joann store in Brandywine, Maryland that I was on my way via the Joann app on my cell phone; gave them the car description and color. I arrived and parked in the designated pickup area by 7:07PM --- and I waited for 10 minutes. Finally, I saw someone else go to the store door and leave. They told me THE STORE WAS CLOSED! You cannot trust this store to be open when they're supposed to be open. I drove to the store for absolutely nothing, and I still do not have my purchased items.

Joann’s Fabric Quality

For the last few months I have noticed a change in quality primarily in the cotton clothing, fabrics. I have been a long time customer of Joanns , and a long time quilter. It pains me to say that I won’t be looking to Joanns anymore because of the poor quality of the fabrics I have been seeing recently. I don’t know why it has been so noticeably evident that the quality has waned. It makes me look toward upper management as increasing profits as opposed to good fabrics. Many of my quilter friends have noticed the same poor quality fabrics at the Jo-Ann Stores. It hurts me to say that I will not be the customer I once was. So sad!

Poor Customer Service

When tracking my package after being several days late I saw that it appeared to be lost. I contacted the “customer care” reps and all they did was repeat the info I gave them. Since they were unwilling to do anything I contacted the USPS directly. They confirmed that the package was lost and it would be necessary to contact Joann again for reimbursement. Two days later and I still have not heard anything.

Shipping practices are awful

Shipping practices are awful. They shipped just an item or two at a time over the course of several days. The final item was then cancelled as unavailable, perhaps if it had shipped when ordered it would have been in stock as stated. My first order with Joann will be my last.

Rudest shoppers I’ve ever encountered…

Rudest shoppers I’ve ever encountered in my life at their Jacksonville, FL location. We travel a lot for our business and I can honestly say that I will never, ever shop here at this location again. The store was not horribly busy but god forbid you wait 30 minutes in a line without a number. The rude shoppers will berate you with the aim to humiliate you in front of everyone waiting. What’s more infuriating for me is here I am buying 40 yards of fabric while this store chose to cater to the rude customer who was buying 5 yards. Do better!

Awful shipping

Awful shipping. I still haven’t received my item and nothing can be done. Tracker keeps saying I’ll receive it by a certain date and then nothing arrives. Then it updated to another day and then that day comes and nothing. If it’s not in stock in a physical store near you, don’t bother because their shipping is a nightmare.

App is a scam! Customer services does not care!

Used their app and their gift card placed an order, app gave me "failed to process your transaction" wiped my entire cart and "ate" my money. For example, a 25$ order i paid 50$. I wasnt aware until weeks later i made another order, but said not enough balance on my gift card. Contacted the customer service and asked for my giftcard transaction, they said while unable to share any sort of gift card transaction history, they can confirm that my order "match up with order attempts shown in our system that did not go through" and "order attempts removed a total of [$$] from your gift card without a successful order, a new gift card in [$$] amount to be sent to your email address. This should be received in 1-2 business days." but i never received it, a week later i contacted back and asked about it but received no more replies.. Another time i bought a machine and got my first 10$ reward email for completing that month's mission, which said itll come about a week or so. Waited a week for the said email but it never came. It wasnt until i contacted customer service, where they said the reward is in app. But bc this is weeks later, Joann said its been too long and cannot honor my reward..

I would give negative zero

I would give negative zero. They are absolutely fraudulent. I was given a gift card for $200 got an order together, applied the gift card only owed $2.45 the site kept saying there was something wrong with payment information. Re entered again used different cards finally used Apple Pay. It went through. They charged me for the full $202.45. Contacted them, they admitted my gift card was used and the site has issues but refused to refund my money?! Then charged an additional $69 and $118. I’m at 389$ total now that they have charged. Refusing still to refund my money. Claiming multiple shipments. I’ve never been charged additional money for multiple shipments. I will have to go through my bank. I have several correspondence records from this situation with there out right refusal and total admission that my gift card was used and zero regard for the first charge. I will have to return the full order to get my money back, if they will even do that. This is lawsuit territory. I see them closing down.

Joann does not accept returns on…

Joann does not accept returns on Circuit machines. My son bought a $400+ circuit from them and tried to return it 2 days later (in the original packaging and with the receipt) and they said that they don't accept returns on them even though their website says it does. So he's stuck with a $400 paperweight. This is why I shop on Amazon.

the executive branch is trashing this business...

the executive branch is trashing this firm. this became clear to us today after visiting one of the locations where we have been shopping for decades, we found the place in a complete shambles, looking like a poorly run garbage dump. why? clearly the corporate office has trashed their staff and managers and now the people left working at this location are just the survivors hanging onto a sinking ship. disgraceful. [update: we tried to post this on the Better Business Bureau site and the site was blocking all negative reviews. We then looked up JoAnn's and found that two years ago it went public. Thus the executives are now gutting this business).

Great Customer Service

I am writing to let you know of my incredible experience with your customer service employee Israel Henry. I purchased 30 buttons (10 packs) which I bought in a combination of on-line and in three different stores. After finding out it was going to cost me $100 to have the buttons changed to the new ones I purchased which came to about $60, I attempted to return them. The on-line orders emails were somehow lost and I wasn't able to get a full refund. When I called customer service, not only did I get a professional, warm and friendly person, but he saved me the trouble of having to go back to the store for my refund and gave me a direct refund. After everything I went through to purchase the buttons (driving to three of your locations and on-line) this saved me an incredible amount of time and energy not to mention the gas. I so appreciated his ability to make this happen. I was about ready to never shop in your store again; but have now changed my mind and will continue to be a customer! Thank you!

Order cancelled after strung along for a month

So I notice my order is on hold 3 days after I place it. Reach out to customer service and their first agent tells me I have to wait at least 7 days. Weird. But ok... I wait. Reach out again to question why it's STILL saying on hold. Next agent tells me they will look into it. Turns out they had to reach out to double check with warehousing where my items were. So you mean to tell me this could have been checked on since the day I reached out? Noted and frustrated. I have 3 agents messaging me at any given time telling me how they still haven't heard back. I ask point blank is this going to be cancelled. They tell me they don't know anything. Flash forward to almost a whole month later for them to tell me it's cancelled... Meanwhile their stores have the item in stock but of course the sale is no longer. I'm beyond over it. They should at least allow you to get the items in store with a discount (they should honor it by raincheck), give a coupon, SOMETHING other than "oops our bad" after a whole month. Joann fabrics is awful, I barely do business with them due to crap experiences and figured I'd give their online sale a shot in hopes it would be better. Nope. After this situation I will not be doing business with them again. Bad for business the way they handle things without any care to the customer whatsoever. Good riddance!
