our joann's location in lexington

our joann's location in lexington, ky can be from great to poor. it's great for the amount of yarn, it's glorious. but customer service? it's horrible. they don't recognize sales, they don't check their sales, you tell them something is on sale, they tell you it's not and won't check the sign, even the louisville. KY joann's the signs are not clearly marked, the tags are wrong and when you try to price check, they are incorrect, I have had to go back through the lines more than once because items are less than i thought and i have wanted to buy more because they are cheaper. nothing is every the price it should be. no one is helpful. no one is on the floor, not in either store. only thing goodabout either store is the yarn selection. and if they are on sale then you may as well go somewhere else.

DONT’ BUY ONLINE.

DONT’ BUY ONLINE. Shopping in the store is very good. Buying online is the worst, I made a purchase and they charged me 4 times, they shipped me up to 11 days after the purchase. I received an email telling me that on day 4 my order arrived, then on day 4 I receive another email that arrives on 7, then on 7 I receive another email that arrives on 11. This is to have no respect for your customers. I don’t received my refund yet, and I have only received part of the purchase. DON’T BUY ONLINE AGAIN. I'm frustrated and angry because of Joann’s online

Sale prices do not match in-store with online.

Great experience with the staff, poor experience with price consistency between online and in-store. I saw an item online advertised at a sale price of $4.79 per yard down from $11.99 per yard. I thought about buying it online and picking it up in store, but it is fairly close and I had to go there anyway. I arrived at the store and couldn't find it, so I asked an employee for help. She was great! She asked for the item number which I gave to her from the website, and she found it for me. I took the 10 they had in stock and at checkout the price seemed high, so I asked about it. I was told they were on sale and how much I saved, and for some reason it made sense. After arriving to my business, We started going over the receipt, and the price would have been correct if we bought 10 yards of fabric, but we we only bought 8 and the price was $1.20 higher than advertised on the website. So I called the store. Again the employee was very helpful and explained that not everything is the same price online as in store, but they would price match it. Unfortunately, I would have to take one item and the receipt back to the store and show them the price to match. So I did, taking a copy of my reseller permit (I showed them a picture on the first transaction with a copy of the business license). I get in and wait patiently. for the line to go down and an employee to assist me. I gave the employee the reseller permit explained the situation and showed their online price. The employee started to become frustrated from what appeared to be a slow or non response from the touch screen. I waited patiently while the transaction was completed. I signed and went to my car. As I looked over the receipt, I noticed it had tax applied, so I went back in to get clarification, and the employee refunded the tax making my receipts all correct for the sale price online. As a retailer, I know how important brand reputation is, and the people responsible for advertising and pricing is doing a huge disservice to Jo-Ann Stores.

I got an email with all the great deals…

I got an email with all the great deals from Joann fabrics. In that email is had a huge sale on yarn "Yarnormous, 60% off" I quickly went to the store. I asked an employee where I could find the 60% yarn. She looked at me like I was crazy. I showed her the ad. She had no idea, but a very nice lady. I asked if anyone else would know. She got the manager and she stated to me "I'm sorry we don't have any". I asked what they had.... she said they never had any. I commented that that is illegal. She stated that she had questioned her supervisor and they said, "it is only to attract customers ." This is a Yarnormous sale! Not!!! This is illegal.

This is my “go to” store for fabric…

This is my “go to” store for fabric when I can use a coupon. The frustration with this store is that most coupons are on “full price” items and sometimes they have the fabric I want at small discounts, thus you can’t use the coupons.

Yarn is NOT on sale like their ad said it is

I went to buy yarn tonight because it was on sale, when I went to check out they told me the yarn was NOT on sale even though it specifically said RED HEART 20% OFF. They tried telling me that not all the yarn was on sale even though their ad says ALL YARN ALL SKEINS up to 60% off. Im not happy with this place considering. Then the cashier tried telling me that 20% off my entire purchase was a better deal than 20% off the yarn and a 20% off my entire purchase as that was what the coupon was for. Even said sale items are part of that.

Second time I go in store and have a…

Second time I go in store and have a bad experience. First time, the employee was in a hurry to close the store although there was an hour to close. Made us feel uncomfortable and we rushed out. This time I went to renew my yarn stash since they had good promos and coupons that everyone on social media posted about. The cashier asked the customer in front of me about her app and redeemed her purchase. Come my turn, I cant apply the coupons apparently and no she doesnt ask if i have the app. Just rushes to finish the sales. I contact customer services and they say they are unsure about the truth behind people who used the coupons and posted on the group.... Lost my business for good.

You let me down.

tried to return some yarn without a receipt so had to take lowest sale price in 6 months (ok), on a store credit (ok) and the kid at the counter scammed the money off the card so now I have no yarn, no credit, and no proof of ever having had either. You let me down, and have lost my business for good!

0 stars, the staff was so unhelpful I don’t even think I got my dumb discount since the cashier was in such a hurry to go to break. The worst part I bought 4 huge Christmas boxes and soaps and other Christmas stuff which didn’t fit in those miniature carts, and it’s snowing they have no bags, do you think any of the staff helped me to my car much less hold the door open so I could leave or say go get your car we will help you load your purchase one beautiful box even fell in the parking lot and got dirty so sad I didn’t even want to exchange it, because dealing with such bad customer service, what an unfriendly, unhelpful prejudice feeling kind of store the Jo-Anne’s on coors by Burke’s on ALBUQUERQUE NM is......

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would, cheap decor, and god forbid you want to look at a set of colored pencils, they treat you like a criminal. I am not going to spend $50 on a set of colored pencils without seeing what colors are included. Employees are rude and have no idea what they are talking about. I will give my business to a local small business and you can shove your coupon up you a$$!

Still have my money for over a week and their clerk was rude and lazy

Like a lot of people on here, I ordered online to pick up in-store and had my order canceled. I ordered on 12/18, was told the order was ready, then told it wasn't available and they still have a hold on my money. I went into the store on the 20th to pick up the 1 order out of 3 that hadn't been canceled and the clerk stood there not moving after I told her I was there to pick up. I told her again that I was there to pick up an order. She asked rudely if I had a confirmation saying it was ready. I went to my phone and she told me she didn't need to see it but that if I didn't have it I was wasting my time because it wasn't ready. I told her it has been ready for two days and then again she tells me that without the confirmation that means nothing. I had the confirmation and she didn't want to see it. The rack with my order was 10 feet away from her and she wanted to waste both our time explaining to me how their stupid system works when all along my order was sitting there. I am furious about them canceling my order and then keeping my money for over a week. Joann obviously needs help running their business because they are rude and clueless.

Dishonest Deals

I received a coupon stating that, for one day only, regular-price items and sale-price items would be an additional 30% off if I buy online and pick it up at the store. They don't bother to tell you that until you add items to your cart is a minimum purchase amount is required, that some items don't qualify, and that the percentage off is taken on the original price, not the sale price. This is unethical as well as misleading. Why would I shop with a business that wants to steal from its customers? Why would you?

I ordered and paid for an item online…

I ordered and paid for an item online for store pick up. I checked it last night and it said the item was ready for pick up. This morning, I get an email saying that the order was cancelled because the item was not available. I'm so confused. If I ordered it and paid for it when it was in stock, it now belongs to me and should be held for me. I already paid for it, how can it suddenly be gone? It makes no sense and I'm upset because I need it now, and bought it with a 50% coupon. I'll have to go to Michael's and get it instead. Stupid store.

Good prices, but shipping speed and communication SUCKS!!!

I MIGHT shop a brick and mortar because the prices are pretty good, but will NEVER buy from them online again. I paid to have my items shipped, it wasn't free. They ship the absolute cheapest they possibly can. Essentially, your item will pass through the hands of EVERY shipping company there is. So it takes forever to get your order. I could have walked to the moon and personally picked it up, faster than, FedEx, USPS and UPS got it here. In fact, I'm still waiting on a package, 2 weeks after ordering. Oh, and don't bother emailing them, they won't return it.

I wish I could give Joann’s no stars!

My first order from Joann’s, 16 skeins of Paton’s Natural Mix Worsted Wool, arrived in 2 shipments. The first shipment had 6 skeins of the color I wanted—and the color shown on the website. The second shipment had 10 yarns that were a completely different color. On Friday morning, the 13th of December, I called Joann’s customer service, explained the problem, and told the representative that I was leaving for the UK on Monday, the 16th of December, and would be abroad for almost 3 months. I needed the replacement yarn as soon as possible because I’d already started my project with the 6 skeins of the color I’d wanted, and planned to finish it in time for Christmas in the UK. We spent about 15 minutes on the phone—she put me on hold a couple of times while she spoke to a manager. She told me she could expedite the shipping of the replacement yarn, and I would have it on either the 14th or the 15th of December. I questioned this because it was the weekend, and she promised that it would be here by Sunday the 15th at the latest. A couple of hours later I received a message from Joann’s that the order had shipped. Though the message did say that the order wouldn’t arrive until Tuesday the 17th, and the tracking showed that Fedex had not yet picked it up, I wasn’t worried because the representative had promised me I’d receive it on time. On Saturday morning, the 14th of December, I checked the tracking status, and Fedex had still not picked up the package. I called Joann’s customer service again, and spoke to a man who told me there was no way a package would arrive on a Saturday or a Sunday if it had been ordered that Friday. I explained my predicament: that I’d be out of the country when the package arrived, and it would sit on my front steps for almost 3 months. He said he’d talk to the order department, and see if they could get the package to me before I left on Monday, and if not they’d cancel the order. He said he’d call me back and let me know something that afternoon. He never called back. That afternoon I emailed Joann’s to cancel the order, and in the email detailed my terrible customer service experience. It is now the 18th of December, and the yarn has just arrived on my doorstep—in the US! And I’m in the UK.

I bought 4 battery powered candle…

I bought 4 battery powered candle sticks at the Jo-Ann store in Allen Park, MI. They did not work at all. Two separate packages and not a one of them worked. My husband had tossed the packaging out assuming they would work. I had my receipt and took them back to the store. They would not refund me, give me a credit or anything! The managers, Terrie and Cheryl, were relentless and rude to me and offered no compromise. My purchase was a total loss for me. I paid for faulty products and got no restitution. DO NOT SHOP AT JO-ANN THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR STORE AND DO NOT TRY TO ACCOMODATE THE CUSTOMER IN ANY WAY!!!!!

I wish I had read reviews

I wish I had read reviews. I normally shop in store, but both stores are over an hour away, and I was not going to drive for fabric. I placed an order on December 2, 2019. Four fabrics. 9 yds of 108" flannel arrived from one location in a 5 and 4 yd. cut. I'm making sheets for a split king bed and they have to be in 3 yd increments. Then when I unfolded to measure, there is a huge tear in the middle of one of the cuts.6 yds for coat lining. That is in a 4 and 2 cut. 3 yds of flannel for a nightgown. That came in 2 and 1. 3 yd cut-came as a 3 yd. cut. That in and of itself is utterly ridiculous! Buying fabric generally requires one length. And now I will have to return it to the store which I didn't want to drive to in the first place. Not to mention that the fabrics are not available at my store. So a total waste of time and money. Money??? Right, hold the order amount and then place individual charges for each box that ships. AND since I used my paypal account for payment, I can only be given a JoAnn gift card as my reimbursement! 10 days later and I still don't have all the fabric. The last box hasn't been updated since the 10th and may never show up. In store, I have always had a pleasant experience. Online is absolutely the most horrid, abysmal process ever. Never ever again.
