Joann.com has worst customer service…

Joann.com has worst customer service ever. I would give them negative stars if I could. No way to cancel an order, slow shipping, no response to emails, no way to contact by phone, slow shipping. I place orders all the time and 90% of them get cancelled. I order 10 items and 9 get cancelled, so I get to pay the same shipping for 1 item as I pay for 10. Are they not capable of keeping up with their inventory? Unfortunately for most customers, there is not another good alternative to the products they sell. Still looking for somewhere else to take my business.

No customer service at all

I didn't want to give any stars but it is required to leave this review. My order arrived in 3 different shipments which was fine. I received 3 of the same item and was charged for all 3 when I actually ordered only 1. Another item that I did order and was charged for, I did not receive. I sent an email to the "help" site(which is your ONLY option for customer service), waited 4days and did not receive a response so I sent another email 2days ago, still no response. The store listed as "my store " was called and they had no record at all of my order. Basically, you order what you want and they send you what they want to send you, charge what they want to charge you and there is absolutely no way to do anything about it because you can not speak to anyone, everything is via email which is ignored. I will never order from these crooks again.

Entire order was canceled

I made an online order using a "40% off everything in your cart that is not on sale" and received an email three days later from Joann.com that said items in my order were canceled because they were not in stock -- even though they were in stock on their website when I ordered them and three days after! I had 24 different items in my cart -- over $134 worth of merchandise. EVERYTHING was canceled -- apparently not in stock! This is absurd! I will NEVER shop at Joann Fabrics again -- they apparently did not want to honor their own coupon!

Ive been GOING to joann's for years but…

Ive been going to joann's for years but never once did i want to order online for them. The other day i decided, why not whats the harm? The harm? THE SHIP THROUGHOUT FEDEX SMARTPOST the MOST unreliable shipping service on the market. My package was shipped from their location in ross town center which is 30 min away from my house. I live in Verona. I dont own a car, and an uber/lyft is exorbitantly expensive due in these times, and there are no busses that go out there. And i dont have family to rely on. When i saw it was coming from ross town center oh it shouldnt take that long.. Then instead of saying that it was transferred to usps for delivery, it went to zelienople. I thought, okay theyre sending it there then they'll make the transfer. I check the third, and my crap (word stronger than this is used) is in ohio. I got no response from joann's and when I i called fedex about it they told me it was the cheapest route... The cheapest route... Google Verona pa, then get directions to ross town center. Then google fedex locations and usps locations in the same areas Some how OHIO is the cheaper route. So i leave it there seems to be nothing i can do. Then i wake up and check my package see if its making its way back to Pennsylvania. NO its NOT. Instead its sitting in GROVE CITY OHIO after having a brief time in COLUMBUS... I live 20 minutes away from ross town centee. The shopping center has a fedex distribution center, a ups distribution center, AND A usps distribution center... and some how GROVE CITY OHIO is the cheapest route.🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 Fedex seems to think expediting the delivery of package would make it go faster; if it had been sent by a competent delivery service, it would have been here the next day without the need for it. Joann' isnt offering expedited shipping at the moment otherwise i would have chose it. Joanns has yet to contact me on this, I've sent them two emails about the matter with screenshot and nothing, there's been no response. I should have gone with my initial instinct and waited until i could get to joann's in person. With both Joann's online and fedex smartpost, this is the definition of re tard ed. If it wasnt for the fact that ive gotten decent service from them IN STORE the stars would be lower.

Beyond frustrated with the store, the website, and the app.

Does anyone take inventory at Joann's? You order stuff online and less than half of your order will be fulfilled due to low inventory. You find a fabric you like on the website? Not available for shipping and not available in your local store. The markups are ridiculous and they make it impossible to use the "good" coupons. When they put out a 50 or 60 % off coupon, they exclude sale items, so they make everything on sale for 20% off. 20% off your total purchase, but you can't use it online. It's ridiculous. No customer service live chat--you have to email someone and they might get back to you next week if you're lucky. I get emails saying I've earned so many Smile Reward dollars. Go to the app and there's no rewards in my Smiles Dashboard. Prompted for my loyalty number at checkout...what's that? It's not the Smiles number. Can't find what it is. Website is crap and takes forever to load. The sale signs in the store are either never put up or never taken down. So you might think you're getting something on sale, but when you get to checkout they tell you "oh, that sale ended last week". Or you think something isn't on sale and you can finally use that 60% coupon, but no, you get to checkout and it's 20% off, but there was no sign, so you can't use your 60% coupon. Fabric quality is poor...it seems like I regularly get cuts that have permanently lost their dye at the fold lines. It's the Walmart of fabric stores. Unfortunately, if you live in a smaller town, Joann's is often the only place to buy fabric and craft supplies. Looking at the more than 200 ratings on this site and the 1 star average, you have to wonder if they care about their customers at all.

Can't talk to a Person!!

Like so many other reviewers here I am so disappointed with the service from Jo-Ann Fabric. I have shopped there for years. I understand delayed shipping due to COVID; but other stores are doing it and making it work. Communication!!! JoAnns doesn't communicate. When you can't talk to a live person about an order, then I consider the company to be scamming me. My order shows shipped but to date FedEx is still waiting for the order to be received by them. One day COVID will be over; I will be able to walk into a store and order on line. You can rest assured I will NOT be doing so at or from JoAnns. They have lost my business forever.

what good is an online store if

what good is an online store if people can't log in and shop. these nit wits force a password change often when it isn't necessary. I guess some idiot told them this is how security works. Yeah, if you are an effing bank. NOT if you are just a place to shop . To top that off, it is impossible since they don' t let you SEE the new password you are making up, so you are likely to NOT match up the two copies of it you have to type. It has to be a complex word. Plus they force you to have 4 different forms of characters! DAMM, i gave up. I cursed them mightily. They wanna make it that error prone, and difficult, to shop there-- FINE, I WON'T. i will go to michaels or even walmart, or ebay . or other online shops.

Looking for JoAnn alternatives

Joann stores sponsor "sales" that are less than upfront. I wanted to purchase ONE spool of blue thread but in order to get any kind of a "special" I was required to purchase 2 rolls at regular price to get 2 more( free??). I needed one roll of thread. I did not want or need 4 rolls of thread. This is one example of several in which JOANNE gets customers bearing 50% coupons to the store only to find out the largest discount they can get is the in-store one which is ALWAYS less than the ones sent in the mail. The only way JoAnn can get away with this is because they are a monopoly. I presently shop there ONLY when in desperate need of an item not carried by a local community business. In future I will not patronize JOAnn for future purchases, quilting or otherwise.

Unfriendly and rude

I was at the store today. I find people rude, unhelpful and unfriendly. It took them nearly 4 weeks to complete my online curbside pickup order and 1/2 the stuff I ordered was no longer available. My worst experience today was a racist one when the person helping me checkout said do not come close to me. Not only was I wearing a mask I was also maintaining a safe social distance. This company needs some serious customer service and racial bigotry education for its employees I will think twice about shopping here again. I am glad there are other avenues for me.

Dreadful customer service

I put in a order for curbside pick-up on May 9, after seeing large ads for how convenient it would be and how much Joann’s is helping during the Covid crisis. We are now going into June, and not a word that my order is ready. I have emailed several times. No response. I have called both the store and corporate headquarters. No answer. No return call. Meanwhile, so many other retailers have been wonderfully accommodating and have transitioned to delivery and curbside pick-up easily. This is certainly a upper-level management problem. I am finished with JoAnns and will deal only with smaller and more efficient companies from now on. I hope JoAnns goes bankrupt.

My trip to Joann’s started out great

My trip to Joann’s in DuBois, PA (15801) started out great. Employee cut my foam and I went on my way to the check out. I got in line and an employee named Faith waited on me. She was probably one of the most unhelpful and rude employees I’ve ever come into contact with. When I asked a question about my coupon not loading on my phone, she acted extremely annoyed and stood in enough silence after my question that it became awkward. She finally said, “there’s nothing I can do about that” in a very annoyed tone. All she had to do was call the manager or try to give me some kind of help, even a suggestion to log out and back in or something, but instead she decided that I was somehow massively inconveniencing her. She didn’t give any effort to help me apart from saying I should try their WiFi, which had a bad connection and didn’t solve the problem. I stood to the side and figured it out myself after a few minutes. Then I got back in line for a second time and she ended up waiting on me again. She didn’t say a word to me apart from my total. I said “have a nice day”, to which she said nothing. She treated me like I was a huge inconvenience to her, and all I had was one simple question that I received no answer to. Faith had a terrible attitude and it spilled over into her job. I don’t know what was going on behind the scenes, so maybe she was just having a bad day, but I can safely say that she treated each of the other customers with the same attitude.

$25 restocking fee on sewing machine

Nowhere in the store on march 21, 2020 was their a sign saying anything about a restocking fee on sewing machines. This was before the state of Illinois shut down before the virus. They reopened and charged a 25$ restocking fee for an unopened, unused sewing machine. Two clerks said those are new signs. There were no signs posted the day it was purchased. The one sign is behind one register you can't see it from any other register.

Unfortunately you have to pick a star

Unfortunately you have to pick a star, which I wish 0 stars could be selected! The company is outdated and definitely can not fulfill orders of customers!! What the heck am I going to do with thread but no fabric??? Why ship partial of the items order, if the important items to go with it are no longer available??? Do you suggest me braiding the thread in order for me to get what I intend to make??? People don't waste your time. Go else where for things you need. Chances are you'll get them better than Joannes stating something is instock but truly isn't!!!

NOT a Joanne’s Fabrics fan!!!

Their coupons are WORTHLESS! I’ve tried to use coupons on my last three trips to Joanne’s—I have yet to be able to use ANY of their coupons. First time I tried to use a coupon, the clerk couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work and just said I’m sorry and stated, “there’s nothing I can do about it”—second trip verbatim. Today, I went to the cutting table to purchase 21.99 yard linen with a 60% off coupon. The coupon stated a single cut by the yard (I needed around 7 yards). I looked at the exclusions prior to shopping and thought I met all guidelines to use the coupon. BUT NO! I was told it was already on sale at 40% off. But there was absolutely nothing to indicate the sale price in the store. I asked for a manager—expressed my concern and she mumbled there was nothing she could do about it and walked off. I had already shopped for at least hour to make my decision on fabric. The 40% vs 60% was a difference of $30! Each time has been a plethora of excuses, nonchalant attitude, rudeness, and a lack of support and care for their customers. I’ll travel 45-50 minutes to buy fabric next time instead of shopping at our local Joanne’s!

Don’t trust them!!! Shipping is horrible👎👎😢😢

I first thought that Joanns would be very nice. Like fast free shipping, but I expected the prices to be high. I have been waiting for more than 2 weeks and I still don’t have my package. You know what the worst thing was there was a fedex man dropping off some of my moms stuff and I got so happy thinking that it finally came in. It didn’t. That right there made me so mad, so my desicon is that I will probably not order off of Joanns ever. I would only order off there if no other store has what they have.

Online ordering

They show the item online. The order goes thru then within a few days you will get a uh oh we no longer have that item. Ordered 3 items 2 were canceled as no longer available. The item that they have I would not have ordered without the other two. This happened a few weeks back too with whole order canceled. If you don’t have it mark it out of stock! Won’t be ordering again

As reported to the Better Business…

As reported to the Better Business Bureau on May 29, 2020. Joann.com is absolutely the worst company I have ever ordered from. Their business practices are completely unacceptable and as a consumer I deserve to be treated in a considerate manner! I completely understand the shipping delays that the COVID-19 outbreak has caused however to be blatantly ignored by the company when I have attempted to follow up on my order is nothing short of rude. To date, I have NOT received one response from the company. Here's a word of advice - if you can't manage to fulfill orders and have them shipped in a timely manner, SHUT DOWN the operation. May 3 - Order placed on website with automated followup email indicating such. May 6 - Email received from Joann.com that order is delayed. May 10 - Email Received from Joann.com that partial order has shipped (1) May 11 - Email sent to Joann.com inquiring as to the status of my remaining order, May 15 - I contacted Joann.com directly from website inquiring on the status of my order. May 18 - Email received from Joann.com that partial order has shipped (2) May 18 - Email received from Joann.com, partial order has shipped (3) (Per FedEx, shipping label created but never received until May 26) May 19 - Received partial order (1) May 23 - Received partial order (2) May 26 - FedEx receives order (3) for shipping May 29 - Waiting for order (3) to arrive which is now estimated to be June 5!

awful experience buying online

I do not have issue with the stores per se but the web sites sucks. I was ordering yarn to be picked up outside the store. There is no way to cancel an order done by mistake. I have to go, pick it up and return it. That is the only option. (and yes, I tried to cancel it right away). To pay was a nightmares they have a lot of glitches that would mess up with the credit card.

Not a happy shopper

Was a great fan of JoAnn in the past, however, was never happy with their checkout system in the stores. Now, May 2020, had to resort to online ordering, and ordered fabrics, thread, rotary blades. When you are ordering online and clicking the item on the screen to order, JoAnn takes the order, then after they assign an order number to it, the price, etc,, they cancel it as they don't have it. Why was it on screen for ordering in the first place? I ordered 2 orders same date. One had 5 items, they then cancelled 2 items out of that order. I received 2 items. Still waiting 5-27-2020 after 9 days for thei 1 item left. Can't track it even though the tracking number shows in the order as they don't provide a customer to click on that number and follow tracking. Oh, my. For my second order, they cancelled 1 of 2 items (also fabric) and provided tracking number which is embedded in the original order I view, and does not have as with the first order, cannot track that number. Very reluctantly, I will not shop at JoAnn again. Can't go through all this any more. Why? I have 5 other orders I am trying to track with other companies as a result of JoAnn not having what I want, poor customer service, and because I have other items I need elsewhere JoAnn does not sell. These places are slow, they know how to talk to me on a telephone, and at least I can find out what their status is. JoAnn has a very bad system in store and online. No one is minding the company. The executives are lining their pockets and partying at the resorts in the Caribbean. As a COVID-19 new online shopper (I am an octogenarian without transportation), JoAnn came in as the worst of all online shopping sites. Their in-store shopping checkout system wasn't too hot before COVID-19 either. I will not forget the poor service I received once we get back to "normal". If JoAnn doesn't survive, I will not feel bad.

I ordered some thread online

I ordered some thread online, part of it was in the store & I was able to pick that up. The other part says it was shipped on 5/13, yet the tracking with FedEx would not show any movement until May 21st. I could have driven to Indianapolis to pick up quicker than I am getting my package which I paid dearly to have it shipped! As of 5/27, I still have not received & now they are saying it is being transferred to USPS. This is RIDICULOUS! I'm VERY unhappy with Joann's & will not shop or order from them again!
