Go to Hobby Lobby

Go to Hobby Lobby. They are honest Christians. They put their add online on Sunday for the next week. I drove to a other town for a sale at Joann’s. The item was higher than advertised. I was told that the sale doesn’t start until tomorrow and it was an online sale only. It was called a door buster sale. I don’t understand how you “bust” the doors of the internet. Sale dates were not prominent. I will not be shopping there again.

Friendly and helpful

I came into the store in search of perler beads and accessories for a birthday present. The store was well stocked with a wide variety of design books and bead colors. I’d forgotten my coupon and couldn’t pull it up on my phone however the cashier was kind enough to scan one for me anyway. Always friendly and helpful.

I placed an online order and the gave me so little of the product that I can’t even make what I planned. They never informed me When I called they repeatedly put me on hold. My bank still shows that the full balance for the order was taken out despite not receiving the full order. They are a rip off. Never again.

Charged for whole order, only got 2 items valued at 10% of what was paid.

Been charged for all my order - well over £200. Received a dispatch note which only showed 2 items totalling £13.99. A day later received refund of £9.99 saying one item was out of stock. Now absolutely nothing on the remaining 14 items worth over £175. It’s been nearly a month. Any order tracking just shows the original tracking for the first two and says order satisfied. Now half items are out of stock, my money for full order has been deducted and no communication at all. Trying to do a PayPal dispute but their site crashes as soon as you try to enter all the missing stuff from order in.

Not an honest company

Not an honest company. Put things in my cart, they send an email to surprise just for me, save 25% because I left "something behind". 25% never gets applied. Just a come-on. Going elsewhere for my $100 order.

Watch how they scan a price for you on…

Watch how they scan a price for you on a yard of fabric. Make sure they cancel it out if you don’t purchase or you will be charged for a yard. Pain getting credited back. Purchased 3 pkgs of button receiving 3 free. One pkg was missing buttons woman said she would discount for the shortage then changed her mind because I was already receiving a discount. Line was getting longer she was the only one ringing so I let it go. Seriously, not such a great discount after all. I feel every time I try to shop here there are issues. Not worth shopping here.

I have been a Joann customer for at least 25 years. Service and quality have been going downhill. Since the pandemic, there are more empty shelves, misleading advertisements and higher prices. I just came back from the Riverside Plaza store, Riverside, Ca. The sales prices for today were not posted. Good thing I had the weekly sales ad and knew what was on sale. I even shared the info with other customers who didn't have a clue. Most of the staff are new and uninformed. The fabric selections are limited and the prices crazy high. A 30% discount is not motivation to buy a fabric costing $30 a yard that is definitely not worth it. I will have to locate other store options. I might have to bite the bullet and drive 80 miles to the fabric district in downtown Los Angeles

Highway Robbery!

I think it's wrong for a customer to buy merchandise (expensive) like a sewing machine, get it home open it and it doesn't work, you bring it back, they will not return your money, exchange it, or nothing, because you opened the box. So in other words you can return it if the box not open. I understand store policies and all, but if that's what JoAnn Fabrics wants to go by then have that policy on the front door or at the counter where it's visible for the customer to see. So buy their merchandise at your own risk!

Classic bait and switch

Classic bait and switch. Planned a trip to JOANN based on my mailed flyer. When I got to the store found that they had switched McCalls patterns to Simplicity for the sale. Called it a mistake and refused to honor their sale price. Manager and customer service also refused to honor price.

When you order from JoAnns online they…

When you order from JoAnns online they put a hold on your account for the purchase amount. Pretty standard right? Not with them. Once your order ships they charge you again. The original charge will not fall off for 5-7 days. So essentially they hold your account hostage for 2X’s the amount of the purchase. I even had an incident where I cancelled the order before I finalized it and they still charged my account. When you call customer service they tell you they cannot do anything about it. I even called their corporate office and they were not helpful at all! I like JoAnns but I will never order from them again online! If they do not have it in the store I will go somewhere else. I wish I knew who to report them to. This is a fraudulent practice.

Didn't Receive Any of My Merchandise

Didn't receive any of my merchandise, customer service refused to offer refund or replacement. Spent $110 on joann.com, and the package that arrived contained someone else's order. I called customer service and they said the best they could do was open an investigation with the postal service to find my missing items. First customer service rep hung up on me, the second one transferred me to a supervisor who confirmed that they don't offer refunds or item replacements. I politely said I was dissatisfied with their service and won't be shopping with them again, and the supervisor said she didn't care. Definitely shop elsewhere, this company doesn't care about customers and you may not receive the merchandise you pay for! Update Edit: Their online customer service eventually responded and offered me a refund and apology. Also, I was able to find all the items I wanted from JoAnn's available at local businesses and some more reliable online retailers.

Faithful customer no more!

I went to JoAnn's to return or exchange fabric that a long slice of fabric had been cut off the side. It was as if it had been cut and given for a sample. It also had a spot that I did not notice. I don't have the manger's name but with my receipt #9615 from 7/20/22 Time 5:31pm, you can check the schedule for her name. When she said she could not give me a refund I said ok thanks and walked away. She kept following me and I ask her why. I told her she acted like I was going to steal something. She said she had not seen anyone react as I did. I told her she did not know me. I am sure since I am black and she is white she expected me to get loud and act out! I was going to let this go but I had another incident today. Today when I got ready to check out the cashier informed me you all were charging .05 per bag. I informed her that was why I had my bag. It was a gallon size zip lock bag. It had my table runner I brought to match and 1 5/8 yd of interfacing in it which had just been cut. She said she had to check the bag to see if I had put anything in the bag that I did not bring in. I went off! I let her know I did not steal, I could afford anything in there that I wanted. I was so embarrassed. I am a well kept, 71 yr old educated retired black woman who has been a long time customer of your store. Most of the new set of employees you have there now are fine, but to have those two prejudice employees is bad for your business. I will change my shopping habit and go to Walmart and Hobby Lobby as much as possible. If I have to shop with your chain it will be at your store as seldom as possible.

Joann Fabrics does not honor their own policies

Joann Fabrics has attempted to move away from in-store availability and service and toward online purchases, something very few people want to do for craft items they haven't had a chance to examine for defects prior to purchasing. Aside from that, their website rollout has been a complete disaster. The option to sort items based on in-store availability flat out does not work, it constantly switches you to selecting shipping instead of in-store pickup, and customer service is nonexistent. I was instructed to contact customer support about honoring a price for an item they said they had in store but then cancelled after my order due to it being "out of stock" and customer service has simply not responded. More and more I think this company uses sales on out-of-stock items to draw people in and has zero intent on honoring their own policies. I don't think this craft store is long for this world, they just cannot adapt in a way that makes sense for what they're selling.

Walked out of Naperville store…

Just walked out of the Naperville store! Cashier talked to me for 5 minutes about how to get 25% off instead of just giving me the discount AFTER she saw I was already a rewards member. Then, 2 clearance items I had, she decided she would ring up for less, but instead of knowing how to put in a different amount, she grabbed a soap dispenser sitting on the counter and entered that SKU to discount. Not sure how this was easier than just learning how to enter a new price ?? I thought that was the end of it. Nope. I entered my credit card to pay, she hits the wrong button on her screen and rings up the whole order as cash. Which now she has to void and all start over. But she didn't know how to do that, either. Now there's 5 people waiting behind me - when I started with her there was one person. She sends me over to another line to another cashier who can't figure how to make the corrections and ring me up. She was asking Cashier Idiot #1 how to do it. The two of them are talking back and forth. After 20 minutes of this, I say, "I'm done" and walk out. I went home, and ordered my fabric from another store.

Customer service for online ordering is amazing impossible

Customer service for online ordering is miserable. my order was declined due to verification. I assume this is credit card verification. I called the customer service number and Nancy replied and she said I needed to call verification at 330-463-8423. I called them three times over two days. no call back. Only a recorded message. then I called Nancy back again and she said that was not her department. They on day 3 they send me a customer satisfaction survey asking how was the service. I replied with one start. Then I tried to call investor relations but then got into the computer phone switch board. I decided to look online and saw many other people have problems when ordering online. wow, how can they stay in business.

Joann : Unethical and insulting

Joann uses misleading advertisements and shell game pricing to attract customers. It's a waste of time to shop there. Their customer service is insulting and non-helpful. I went through 2 tiers of customer service management after the first rep. - they were all insulting. Some of their items say "only at joann" - be sure to do a cursory internet search, you're likely to find a better price on the same item. Take, as an example, the Singer HD6800 - it's available at the manufacturer's website for less and with a free iron!

I am giving 2 stars because I do like…

I am giving 2 stars because I do like shopping in the JoAnn's stores for their selection. But I will NEVER EVER order anything online again from them. I ordered $60 worth of cake decorating supplies i needed for my business. The next day, I noticed that they not only charged me the $60, but held back another $100. They said it is their protocol to hold additional money while pending, but this was not explained anywhere clearly on their app as I put in my order. So when my card declined ordering pizza for my teenage helpers today and I only had $24 left in my account, I immediately called Joann's. They said that it takes 7 days to drop off. This is utter bull. Every other company I have ever ordered from has taken the amount agreed upon! What an inconvenience to shop online with JoAnns. I got punished for using their company. Never again.

Happy UK customer

Ok, I see the bad reviews, but let me add a positive one. I am UK based, I happily shop in Jo-Ann when visiting the US. When there last month, I discovered they ship to the UK. So I placed an order. I was kept fully updated throughout the delivery process and my order arrived very fast - less than 10 days, complete and packaged well. I have since placed another order which has also made it here in record speed just waiting for its arrival to my door now. Delivery is free over £113.99, or £10.99 below this amount, which I feel isn’t too bad. Plus any international customs charges will be added so you can see what it will cost without nasty surprises!
