Bankruptcy

Drivetime - Greenville,NC I contacted David via phone and informed him about my credit and bankruptcy. I was told that they can work with it and that I should come to see the car. So, my mom and I showed up there last Saturday, February 22nd, around 9am. I tested the car, and it was great. I liked it. So, I told him I wanted this vehicle. I'd like this vehicle. He took my application, and everything was fine until he said the bank needed 24-48 hours to review my application due to the bankruptcy on my credit. My bankruptcy attorney write a letter stating that I am able to purchase a vehicle up to $10,000 in principal amount before interest. At first, David said I wasn't able to get it because, with interest, it would go over $10,000. However, my bankruptcy attorney, already stated that it is the principal amount only, up to $10,000 before interest is added, which means we can get that vehicle. But David kept saying that the bank will need to review it again. Then he said the management team needs to discuss this. I have the down payment ready, and I can afford the monthly payments. I want to build up my credit in the meantime. I work full-time. If it wasn't for the bankruptcy on my credit, he'd probably let me purchase the vehicle. I feel that's a bit discriminatory against those with a bankruptcy. I am going through a divorce. I had to file for bankruptcy to save my house last year as a last resort. My car broke down, and transportation is very important for getting to work every day. I told them I could do the down payment, $3,000. I even tried to offer up to $3,700, but nothing worked out with David. I understand it's the bank, but people with bankruptcies should be given a chance to rebuild their credit. DriveTime should be honest and state that they don't work with bankruptcy clients to help them get a vehicle. If you have bankruptcy on your credit, don't waste your time! Don't make them run your credit applications!

STAY AWAY

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Please STAY AWAY, DONT BUY. They sold me a completely faulty vehicle, claiming they had no idea there was a major oil leak.... If they go through the proper inspection how did something wo big slip through the cracks? This company is disgusting, and they blatantly lie straight to your face. I will do my best to warn others. Please spread the word so that no one else has to go through this.

Never again

Never again I bought my jeep last April at drive time everything went well so this year when my daughter who want to buy a vehicle I said to go there When she got there guy was a *** to her Because she was 19 years old he said he didn't even want to put time in to her and it would be waste of time My daughter worked at her job for three years makes good money had money saved up and has a credit score over 700 and he said she was to young he would not waste his time on her she was disappointed and upset when she left there he was very disrespectful to her So I took her to a different place and she now I a owner a a new SUV drive time should be Shame of there employees

I had an excellent experience

I had an excellent experience, this was the first place I went to that I said this is the car I want and they didn’t try to show me anything else. My credit is bad so I was shocked I actually left with the car I wanted! My payments are affordable which is great for me! I worked with Nezir (sorry if I spelled wrong) he was great!

DriveTime sells cars with tires that are dangerous to drive

I purchased a vehicle and it seemed out of alignment. The salesperson assured the 30 day warranty would cover the alignment. It turned out to be the back tires are cupping. The warranty company denied the claim. DriveTime customer relations stated the inspection determined the tread was acceptable. A condition of tires that are dangerous to drive on is ok if the tread is acceptable. They allowed someone to drive off their lot with a dangerous situation with the tires. I wouldn't recommend this car sales company. I'm going to have to put a hefty amount of money out on a car I've had less than a month

What made my experience great was the professional service offered to me by Mr. Savage (Jackson) location. Everything he said he was going to do as far as the process, paperwork, etc he did; and, he was efficient at it. I was more than impressed by his knowledge and smooth approach to excellent customer service.

Sold a lemon

We are in the process of buying a car from drive time the car is under warranty but the car needs a whole new engine replacement the car is not in driving condition so they just told us to keep the car and still make payments me being a military veteran o don't recommend anyone to buy a car from this company save your money go to some other place

Just an update from nurse William here

Just an update from nurse William here. I've now been without the Jeep Renegade I purchased in Tampa on December 21st for almost a month. The mechanic shop up in Missouri where it died for the SIXTH time in just over a month's time now says that the "new" engine being installed has tons of broken bolts all throughout it and will require time to clean out. They also explained to me that they have absolutely NO clue how old the engine is......or how many miles are on it. It's wonderful that Drivetime commented on my last review that I could reach out to their customer care department, but the odd thing about that is that the customer care department told me numerous times that they could offer me no assistance. Maybe there's a secret number I'm not aware of? Oh....and also I've been made aware by Bridgecrest....the financing company....that the vehicle is now in repossession status.

Just woke up frustrated

Just woke up frustrated. Just bought a 2015 Infiniti QX60 from this place a month ago. Two days later I hear a winning noise. Take it in to get it checked out. And quess what. The warranty company won’t fix it because it’s still functional. But in the mean time I have to drive around with this embarrassing winning sound every day. Now I’m hearing a rattle from the engine. I asked I think it’s Brian that I had already had to bad car buying experience’s and please not to sell me a bad car. WOW! They say they do an inspection on these cars. Well if that is the case why didn’t they hear that noisy and why is the cover on the engine not screwed down. NOT EXCEPT-ABLE. I will turn this car in just like I did the other two if this problem is not rectified .

Absolutely.Horrible customer service

Absolutely.Horrible customer service. Not only do you get the run around but they continue lies and promises are nothing but excuses to not be accountable for a vehicle they soldvthat had a motor replaced prior to my purchase then 20 days later an other top end had to.be completed, yes out of my own pockets. I will nevet purchase a vehicle from this place again. Stay away you been warned.

i haven’t even had my car 3 weeks

purchased my 2018 dodge journey on 1/24/25. paid my down payment and drove off the lot only to have the vehicle making weird noises and movements minutes after getting on the highway. talked with the manager the next day he said get it checked out. waited for a response from them never got one…took it on a mini family vacation not even 4 hours away just for the transmission to go out. called drive time and they told me “we didn’t tell you to take this trip” i asked what they can do to help me fix and the response i got from marcus was “that is part of life” okay….now im currently stuck where im at going on a full week waiting for the warranty company to fix my vehicle while i get the run around. DO NOT buy from these people unless you want a bad vehicle

DriveTime Conyers

Mr. Brown and Ms. Smith were very helpful, very friendly, but most importantly they were extremely professional. I visited that location before the pandemic and decided not to purchase with DriveTime because of the experience. They had a great vehicle inventory selection and I must say my experience this time 100% due to the current Management and staff. Very transparent, no games, and not pushy. All of the ingredients for a great car buying experience.

The suv I purchased at DriveTime is an awesome vehicle. The concern I have is they know you may have a license plate that you can transfer, but still charge you for tags. This I know is not fair. Don’t use this to get over on people. Be honest with your customers.
