Donald Russell

This is my first order. I was looking for a T-bone steak to save for Christmas..as I’m working and need something quick but tasty to cook. The size of these steaks is very impressive. Delivery was like lightening..and all chilled to perfection… I added some other goodies to my order. And I’ve waited to leave this review until we’ve actually eaten the two rib eye steaks we received today…and…. OH MY GOODNESS! Absolutely delicious and SO tender! By far the BEST steak we’ve had in an absolute age! So we’d just like to say THANK YOU! very much indeed. Cannot fault you for absolutely anything. Price,postage and quality..second to none. Would completely recommend you to all..and we will definitely be back for more…we’d be mad not to!!

My Chateaubriand fillets arrived safely and promptly today. Everything was very well packaged and the fillets were still frozen so went straight into the freezer. I haven't eaten them yet, but so far so good! Many thanks.

I’ve had a wide variety of meat and seafood from Donald Russell, including chicken, steak, koftas, burgers, salmon, mackerel and the standard of all is excellent. Delivery and packaging is also great.

Delicious mince from Donald Russell and good prices considering how much better it tastes compared to supermarket vacuum packs. Mince, carrots, beef stock and Worcester sauce makes a great cottage pie. Good for stocking up the freezer and arrives next day in southern England.

Have been ordering from DR for a few years now. The quality of their steaks is nearly always superb, there have been a couple of issues over centre fillet steaks not being "centre fillet" but these were sorted by customer service. I do find the prices quite high but the quality is excellent and the delivery service from DHL faultless. My only real gripe are the continual special offers that are very restrictive on quantity. One steak - really??

I have always been happy with the service, I mean I ordered on monday morning and it arrived in perfect condition on tuesday morning. excellent products, lovely meat, we did a taste test with the steak mince with some good supermarket ones and even against organic I prefered Donald Russell, so I always have some in the freezer. ready meals are good my husband loves the lasagna, and the chateaubriand is fantastic, we had one for christmas day between 3 of us, took no time to cook and was delicious.

Consistency of products

Quality Quality Quality! Once you purchase your first order you won’t want to buy the equivalent supermarket meat ever again. My order arrives on the date arranged, packed with care and in manageable packs to fit in the freezer. Russellicious!

Have bought quit a lot of meat from them and have not been disappointed! Am now studying their Xmas catalogue, has some great ideas for Xmas dinner. 😊

Meat and poultry purchased is always of the highest quality. The way the produce is frozen ensures that on defrosting there is no water residue. Highly recommend.

Used to buy from Donald Russell some years ago and enjoyed great quality meat. Hoping to be a bit greener changed to a nearer supplier with recycable packaging but was tempted back by amazing offers from Donald Russell which included a superb chateaubriand. There are so many offers I am paying considerably less for my meat and enjoying every mouthful. As mostly only cooking for one can't eat fast enough to take advantage of all the offers as freezer is stuffed! Just one quibble what can I do with the boxes meat comes in?

I have been ordering stuff from DR for about 15 years now. Always great quality and professionally frozen so you never get the nasty 'freezer burn' when you have chucked something in your freezer at home and then forgotten about it for several months. It's never going to be the cheapest option on the market, but the offers are well worth looking out for and then picking your other full price stuff up at the same time.

I'm submitting another review -just because I can and because it's the best produce ever from Donald Russell! Fabulous meats and fish all arriving ready for the freezer. Can;t recommend them enough.

Food always arrives punctually, early in the day and well packaged, so it is still frozen. I was fed up trying to find a decent butcher, especially when our local one closed down, and saw an advert in the National Trust magazine. I have never regretted following up on this. Although appearing to be pricy, there is no shrinkage or wastage, so it probably works out cheaper to buy from DR. I sometimes try other suppliers, but none match the quality of DR. I even tried their ready meals as I have recently been hospitalised. Again, I was VERY impressed. Even my husband can cope with warming these up. Finally, DR spoils us with frequent offers on fillet steak, whether it be the steak, a burger, or off cuts for stews, goulash etc. Did I mention the menus too? DR provide everything that I need. Thank you so much.

Found this butcher by accident and so glad I did. Checked reviews before ordering which were excellent and placed my first order. Dlivery was as requested, well presented and packed. Kept me in touch re delivery. Not used all my order but what I’ve used have been very happy with. Will def use them again.

This was a reorder for the Chateaubriands, we have bought them a couple of times and have never been disappointed, these ones are for Christmas with the family! You won’t be disappointed with any of food from D Russell, I know we haven’t.

How Donald Russell does it I do not know but over the years I have grown even more satisfied with their service, quality and value for money. Fortunately, I have been given privileges to use a nearby neighbour's chest freezer which has allowed me to increase the frequency and quantity of my DR orders. Email alerts keep me on top of amazing offers which I definitely take advantage of regularly. I cannot recommend DR highly enough. A 5☆ operation!
