Our Christmas meal has been delivered as requested and is now sittijg in the freezer waiting for the big day.

Delivery on wrong day fortunately was in. Quality not as expected, how do you make a chateaux briand look scruffy, well these did. Such a shame as over the years they have been very dependable not any more it seems

I ordered a Beef Wellington for 4. It was delivered on the day requested and was in perfect condition to store in our home freezer. I followed the defrosting instructions and cooking guidance for the fillet to be rare. After letting it rest the fillet was carved with great excitement. It looked perfect, and the taste was truly amazing. I felt as if I was eating in a Michelin Star restaurant. Thank you.

My first order from Donald Russell. I ordered sausage rolls, sausages and alpine fries. All excellent, and delivered promptly. Good communication. Will be ordering again.

Only ordered twice from this company and both times DHL delivered to the wrong address. The first time after much chasing from me (they didn’t respond to the online messaging service so I had to call) I managed to get it redelivered and the lady was very helpful. The second time I had to go and collected it from the wrong address which was tiresome and embarrassing to say the least, I contacted customer services via the contact online form and I haven’t received a reply and it’s been a week. DHL are rubbish and I have no faith if I placed an order again it wouldn’t go to the wrong place again. Not sure why they don’t respond to the online contact us form and not sure why they continue to use DHL. Obviously I won’t be ordering from them again which is a shame as my family were keen to use them if the service and delivery had been better.

Have used this company for years as their meat is second to none! Also, I find some products that I can’t easily get here, in the south of England, eg calf liver, white and black puddings and haggis. Okay, it’s not cheap but the quality is superb and there are always offers on. I had a problem with the last order and they solved this with no fuss - and easy to get by telephone . Thank you for your great service!

Despite an order over £110 and many protestations to Donald Russel in which they confirm that they will not use DHL, guess what DHL are to deliver sometime today. Donald Russell are becoming a second tier company and continuing with their cost cutting exercise at the expense of the customers(loyal or not). I have noticed that they never do respond to any of these reviews. Do I need to say more?

Think donald russels food exceptional - until I tried parsleyvsauce fish cakes. Have been on this earth long enough (86 yrs) to recognise a good fish cake.this had good mash. Good parsley. Good breadcrumb crust ---- but NO FISH !!! I try to be honest when I review .

Amazing service from Donald Russell and their customer service is second to none. I had ordered some steak burgers that had arrived in a cupboard box defrosted - which I then wrote a review for. I didn’t contact Donald Russell as I wasn’t sure if this was their normal procedure and I had left it too late to do anything about as I’d been in hospital. However I received a phone call explaining that the delivery should never have gone out in cardboard and they would like to completely replace and redeliver a whole new order. So at an agreed date the new delivery arrived in a beautiful polystyrene box packed with dry ice frozen completely. I am incredibly impressed with how quickly they responded and very impressed that all was done without a hitch. I would definitely recommend this company as the burgers are amazing and my partner really loves them.

We ordered Cottage pies, Cumberland pies etc. They didn't cook well although we followed the instructions. They turned out a sloppy mess. Tried cooking them on two occasions but same results Won't be buying those again. Very disappointed. Have to say though order always turns up on time , well wrapped and ready for the freezer. Carole

Have used Donald Russel for many years sharing delivery with my mum, my 1st order on my own was not a success as DHL failed to deliver saying they couldn't find my address, but managed to find it the next day, meat was warm and defrosted, spoke to customer service, could not have been more helpful, reordered my meat andwas delayed for a day because of storm Babet, arrived in tip top Condition. Company great but DHL let them down.

DHL failed to deliver to me even though they say they have . I’ve now sent 4 emails to complain and try and get it sorted. Not one response. Won’t be using you again

Good meat but oh wow, if there’s a problem, don’t rely on customer services dept to help AT ALL. In fact I’m not sure why they bother calling it a “Customer Service Dept” after letting us down very badly. Then all you get is excuses. Very disappointed! Been a customer for a number of years but that’s it. From now on I support local butchers!

So far the food we have tried from the package we ordered had been great. No complaints at all.

The frozen pre cooked ribs were tough and bitter. I was very surprised and disappointed that the membrane hadn't been removed. Plus they were expensive

Very pleased with the quality of the meat and efficient and well packaged delivery!

I have been buying meat from Donald Russell for many years which on the whole has been excellent and I have recommended them to friends and family. However my recent orders of lasagne, shepherds pies and cottage pies which we have loved in the past have been disappointing and have become known in our house as lasagne, cottage pie and shepherds pie soups which we have used spoons to eat because they are so sloppy and wet. I phoned to point this out and was told this occasionally happens when the mixture is from the very bottom of the pot in which case I have been very unlucky to have received so many in two orders. I am thinking that the weight is being made up with liquid to cut back on meat content to save money I would prefer to pay more for the better product we used to receive and was reliable.
