Never been disappointed with the quality of their products, steaks, burgers, fish cakes etc. You know you’re getting value for money when the steak strips are as tenders as any whole steak. Just had the pork loin chops, amazing. So moist the knife slid through. Can’t wait to have the steaks we ordered.

Have ordered from Donald Russell for many years and amazed how they come up with new meats etc. Received a pork loin roast free when order was over £100 00 and was absolutely delicious, going forward will definitely be ordering this. Have ordered all from sausage rolls to, pork, lamb, and beef products. Will continue to order, have never been disappointed.
The polystyrene boxes were much better protection the product. When my latest delivery arrived a part of the box was soaking wet. Fortunately the meats were still in good order as usual.
Be aware. The company has recently changed the packaging it uses. Previously these came in a substantial white polystyrene box that kept the product in good condition. Never a problem. This time we had a very different experience. The initial problem was that the delivery was delayed 24 hours in transit. I contacted the company who advised that it was packed to withstand any such delay. When the delivery did arrive I found, to my disbelief, it was contained in a cardboard box. To be accurate a soggy cardboard box. The only thermal insulation was only provided by thin sheets of polystyrene inserted inside the cardboard box and not in anyway connected to each other. The lid was a similar isolated piece of polystyrene. The contents of the delivery were meat, much of which was no longer frozen, and several sheets of individual polystyrene. The dry ice packs were empty. Time was spent trying to identify product that could be safely kept before I called the company to get things sorted. A new delivery of the items needing replacement was swiftly arranged, which is why the review is as high as two star! I have insisted that all future deliveries be only in a proper polystyrene box and it seems this is possible. Overall this was a dreadful experience, a waste of time, money and environmental resources, shameful.
We ordered four of their Beef Wellingtons; put quite simply, their description is inaccurate. A Wellington should be a piece of fillet wrapped in a mushroom duxelles followed by prosciutto - the Russell version had no prosciutto at all. It contained a lump of rather dry and tasteless fillet (even though it had been cooked to medium/rare) topped by a dollop of tasteless mushroom, which added nothing to the dish. The base of a Wellington has to be baked first and then united with the top covering, or else it will end up soggy, as did the Russell version - really unpleasant. The pastry tasted alright, but was too thick and cloying to be enjoyable. I will not be being this again; I can do better myself and save money too.
Really good follow-up from Donald Russell customer service when I’d accidentally selected collection instead of delivery at the checkout. A phone call sorted a reorganised delivery there and then with no fuss or bother. Good personal service is a rare thing and they did it very well. Very pleased with their products too, as usual.
All I can say is they never disappoint!! 🤩 Best selections of meat for any occasions. Very friendly and attentive to their customers. Will always recommend!!

Very poor customer service. When their website was updated, we were asked to reset our passwords, which involved requesting an email which would give us access to our accounts. After several weeks, I have yet to receive this email (and yes, I have looked in my spam and junk email folders), despite several emails and two webform messages. On 9 March Donald Russell replied, on Trustpilot, "I can see our team have sent instructions on how to do this (update passwords) but if you're still having problems please do get back in touch". Well, it's now 19 March, I'm still having problems, and I still haven't received the instructions mentioned above. Nor have I received any reply to the polite email reminder that I sent to their customer services email address last week. So it would appear that doubling down on my original Trustpilot complaint is the only route by which I can get back in touch with them! They must have my postal address, so I suggest they write to me by snail-mail.
The meat is delicious and the alpine chips are beautiful. Will certainly be buying again soon
Having used Smithfield suppliers I used Donald Russell for a change I spent £120 on a variety of products. In the main I found them very disappointing. For instance Pork Chops are too thinly cut, the Fish Pie is very small & only for one. The jumbo Fish Fingers are less fish than the thick coating. The Sandwich Steak is poor and too thick. The date is a guess but within days
Very good quality meats as one would expect from a premium butcher. Good packaging that keeps the meat cold and always delivered in a timely manner.
Delivered on time,did not unpack immediately as I knew packaging standards are excellent and would show no signs of thawing or deterioration. Have not eaten any of the food delivered but have no reason to believe it be anything but perfect having received several orders previously
ordered previously but not for a while so had a top up of various products & can honestly say that everything i have eaten has been of exceptional quality & taste.delivery is reliable & the produce always arrives when it should in perfect condition.just made another order as they had some great offers that suited me.
