Prepaid reservation was cancelled on a pretext and then was insulted by staff.
The staff at this location on Holt Ave Ontario CA is horrible they lack Customer service skills (Rude and lack of compassion) and inside looks like a train wreck It’s dirty and nasty inside a hole in the wall I will NEVER EVER rent from this location again

They provided a good vehicle at an excellent price and gave very good personal service such as taking you out to the vehicle that we were renting and going over everything with us to be sure we were happy with it. Joan that worked at the Denver location was exceptional and I was very pleased with her efficacy and personality.
We were given the "least broken" van they had available at the time. The radio did not work. We ended up getting a flat and the van did not have an operational jack. The staff overall were friendly though.
Waited to the shuttle for too long at the airport and at the rental place to get back to the airport. At least 30 minutes each time. Also fairly slow service at the counter.

very slow service. Only one teller was around to help and there were several people in front of me. The website stated unlimited miles and when I got to the counter was told that as a local renter I would only receive 250 miles per day.
I was charged out of initial agreement
I was charged a fee from rental company to cover tolls AND then month later charged AGAIN for the tolls by the road rolling authority of CA that were supposed to be covered by the rental agreement plan
I wanted a 4x4 or awd for the mountains. They delivered and were cheaper than anyone else. I would highly and already recommended AVR to my friends
I will not give them even one star they are the worst company in this world. The managers don't have any idea how to run their business. People be careful they will charge your card without you signing contract. And if you catch him in a lie they get very upset mad and I can throw you out.

Getting to the rental place was a pain. The metro bus Green line was always full. I had a big family and lots of luggage and it was a challenge. Also, two shuttle to the rental is too much. Had to wait another 20mins at the remote place. The only good part was the return which went smoothly.
The best part of this rental was the car. Clean and loaded. But the here's the thing... It's a buyer's market and you get what you pay for. The customer service is HORRENDOUS especially the supervisors. They couldn't pick us up at the airport so we had to find a way to the rental agency then push to get my travel fee waived. When every car rental offers pickup including avr then when you land, doesn't, that's not my problem. Upon entering the business, I was the only one standing there for about 3 minutes in front of two supervisors and three agents. The honestly couldn't give crap.... Finally, one agent helped us and almost made up for the lack customer service with his conversation. Until, some supervisor came out of her office, interrupted us without looking at me once. So ignorant, you just be dirt to treat people like dirt. Upon returning the car, I was stuck in an accident backup. Called and they were easily "oking" us being late. I get there just shy of 1.5hrs late. The same ignorant supn comes from the back, looks at us, said sorry, and rudely told her agent why he was nuts thinking they could waive a late fee. Was charged an entire day....I should have taken the keys and beaten the crap out of the car for another day and return on time. You get what you pay for. Good car, nickel and dime business. Classless supervisor, average agents. If you're ok with dealing with ignorance, the car was awesome, but if you want to appreciated as a customer in a business with numerous other choices, then try another.
I was not informed prior to rental that I would need an additional insurance coverage for a 7+ passenger van. The company charged me an additional $40 per DAY for this coverage. Also, the van had broken seatbelts and a sharp metal exposed where passengers could cut themselves, which happened to 2 members of my family. The lady at the counter put a thin rubber glove over it when we told her, she said thats all she could do.
Vehicle was good. Because we had an early flight we were required to park the car in the nearby parking lot and pay a $20 fee for parking. That extra fee should be disclosed when renting the car.
One of our vans had a broken seat belt. We did not know this until leaving and did not have time to get to our appointments. It was very scary for someone to be riding without a seat belt. We contacted the company about this issue for our ride home and were told they would bring us a van with a working seat belt. This did not end up happening.
