I wanted to like them

I wanted to like them, I really did. And it wasn't the people who work there who were trying their best. The entire way the business is set up is simply not organized and I waited an hour and a half in line. That's a long time. We did get a very nice car and the drop off was fine.

Would use again

We called for pick up at the airport and were told our vehicle had been in an accident, but they made it right by getting us 2 vehicles for the same cost as the bigger one. They were friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

I was mislead when I rented my vehicle…

I was mislead when I rented my vehicle thru Carrentals.com. I was charged a $200 drop off charge when I arrived in San Diego from LAX. I told the agent in San Diego thst I was not informed of this charged. I called customer support and spoke to Alex who told me that he spoke to LAX that if I returned the vehicle to LAX the charge would be waive. I drove back and checked in and was told that the $200 could be waive and I should that it up with Carrentals. I called Carrentals and they said the charge was taken by AVS and I needed to take it up with AVS. Needless to say, this pointing fingers back and forth is a scam to frustrate the customer to just give up. I am preparing to blog this in facebook and Yelp to let everyone know how I was shaken down by AVS and Carrentals. You may have made $200 off of me but in the scheme of things it is worth the bad publicity or the image that your company will be labelled. I am awaiting a final response from Carrental. I will be relentless in my monthly message by continuosly reposting what happened and how I was mistreated.

I couldn’t have had a worse experience

I couldn’t have had a worse experience. Reserved for a Sunday flying into Denver, flight was delayed and it appeared they were going to be closed by the time I got there so I called to make arrangements. Probably called 5 times, straight to voicemail each time. Never received a call back, not even during the following days. (Still charged my CC, though). Ended up that night just walking up to the Avis counter and paying a little more for reliability and service. I will never again make this mistake. For something as crucial as transportation on a business trip I’ll go for the reliable (and more expensive) bigger car rental companies every time.

The employees were friendly and…

The employees were friendly and helpful. The van had a few missing pieces of trim, scratches, etc. The agent walked around with me and pointed them out, which was appreciated. It's also a bit longer to get to this location, because it is not at the airport rental lot. However, the transport area was in a safe location and the drivers were very helpful with my bags, without having to ask. The fact that the van was damaged was the only reason I gave 4 stars.

Didn't even show up for reservation

My place of work made a reservation to pick up a rental from the airport well in advance and they did not show up to the location we specified. We waited over an hour and called their number dozens of times to no answer. They never showed up and we had to get a rental somewhere else. They made us late for a time sensitive event and absolutely screwed us over. This is absolutely unacceptable. Please do not give these people your money, they should not even be allowed in business.

I booked as looked like best price

I booked as looked like best price. Rental location located far from airport Then found extra insurance required so an extra $300 charged + $200 deposit so at check in Cdn$996 was charged to my card when I was expecting a total of $300 for the 6 day rental of the mini van the deposit refund was not on my statement. Then i had to pay an airport dro off fee to leave vehicle at airport I will never rent from this company again

I truly enjoyed interacting with the…

I truly enjoyed interacting with the people at airport Van rental. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. However the Van that I'm rented was not clean and the seats were badly stained. My passengers were hesitant to sit for fear of spoiling their clothes. Even though I know that AVR only rents used vehicles, it's still did not go as well as expected. When I spoke about my dissatisfaction, I was told that the seats were as clean as they could be. That is too bad because it gives the appearance of a second rate company and I am certain that AVR is not that!

WARNING !!

WARNING !!! WARNING !!! WARNING !!! Do NOT USE THIS VAN RENTAL Co. We had a ‘contract’ through Expedia and AVR told us it was no good. They explained they had recently changed the Rental POLICY and it was mandatory that we pay them an EXTRA 55$ PER DAY !!! Just down the counter from us was a young couple with small children . They were emotional, and arguing that they didn’t cause the scrape/damage to the van the AVR was trying to charge them for. They said the scrape had been acknowledged before they ever left with the van. They had pointed it out and been told that AVR knew it was there, but now AVR was trying to charge THEM for that damage. After leaving the airport, you must take a crowded city bus ( that only comes every 30 min or so) with all of your luggage and your children, to “an empty parking lot in the middle of an industrial area”…!!!! You are dropped off to await yet another van that will take you to the AVR Van lot. We were a group of 10, with five adults and five children and the small van that came for us (after a 45 minute wait and two phone calls), didn’t have enough seats for our group of 10. We ended up sitting double without seatbelts for the ride to the rental agency. Once there, you feel you have no choice but to take their van, and accept the new exorbitant fee, because to try and get yourself back to the airport and find something that would accommodate 10 people would be very difficult. You are a victim and this is how they do their business !! Remember whatever you agreed to pay online, they will increase at the counter. And you will likely have costs for damage you didn’t do when you return the vehicle. This is truly a buyer beware message I am trying to give you. This company is entirely disreputable !!!
