Airport Van Rental

One of the worst rental experiences of my life! Do not, repeat, do not rent from them! First of all I rented this car to drive in the snow and the windshield wipers stopped working in the middle of a snowstorm! Then I returned the car after hours and they charge me $20 for this and nobody mentioned when I rented it that this was their policy. I complained to customer service and they told me they would call me back and they did not. I still have not heard back from them! Do yourself a favor and rent with somebody else!

Excellent service and price! Friendly staff. They are located close to Charlotte Douglas Airport. I really like the that you have the option to drop the van off in the long term parking at the airport for a minimal fee. I did not have to use the drop off service but I do like the option.

Value for money, efficient service, great staff

The only problem we had is that AVR is off site from O'Hare, so we rode the transport to the car rental building then had to wait for the AVR van to come and get us. I called them to come pick us up right when we were leaving the terminal, but when we got to the car rental building we had to wait outside in the freezing cold for about 30 minutes. Staff was very friendly, van was in good condition, overall good experience.

It was the worst experience ever. Will never rent any vehicles from them. Customer service at a corporate office is the worst. Felt really unsafe at pickup at LA. Other employees tried to jump in when I questioned them about unnecessary things they said I should purchase as mandatory and tried to deny giving me the vehicle. Very unprofessional and shadey. Felt really unsafe. Drop off at San Francisco was ok.

Had to change airports at the last minute and had to cancel with the scheduled rental company & made a same day reservation with ACE. We landed late and found the desk clerk & shuttle driver waiting after hours for us. The suv was larger than necessary for the 2 of us but handled well and was well maintained. The only downside with this company is that they are offsite. We were picked up at the airport's car rental terminal by a shuttle & Lyfted from their location at the next city to that airport. It worked OK for us, but if you are pressed for time, it may be an issue

We got the SUV I reserved, but the rental location was very shabby and we had to endure a passenger ahead of us yell at the staff because he couldn't get the SUV he reserved because he missed his two hour window to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle we had was nice, but the low cost comes with a low rent experience.

First... My family and I (including an infant and a senior) waited outside waiting for the shuttle to AVR for about 20 minutes. There was also another woman with us waiting as well. Then after 25 minutes of trying to reach someone at AVR, we were told that they had closed....CLOSED.. AN AIRPORT VAN RENTAL CLOSED. They let me rent a van for a time they were closed.... The story goes on.... We have to find a hotel near the airport, wasting vacation time and money.. The next day I call them (which was again took time to reach) and they said my reservation was cancelled!! I asked if they could un-cancel it and let me have the car I reserved for a week and they told me it was un-available! Horrible people, horrible business.

I will never use them again, the guy was rude like I didnt have money for the van. Use anybody but them and I mean anybody...

Prompt service, clean vehicle, polite employees--all combined with the lowest prices we were able to find in close proximity to the airport. We'd most definitely use this service again.

Poor customer service, long wait to check out, rude employees, inconvenient location, hidden costs, stay away from this place. There is no 24 hr drop off service. If you have an early a.m. flight before their office opens, you have to pay to park the rental car in the public parking lot across the street and catch the parking lot shuttle to the airport. They also charge a $200 deposit to your credit card. The balance was refunded, minus the cost of parking in the public lot, several days later after returning the car. None of this was made clear in any of their advertising.

The pick up process was easy and the folks were friendly, we did have to wait a bit for the shuttle from the airport, but that's ok as we did not have anything on the agenda for the remainder of the day. The drop off experience, however, was less than satisfactory. Due to an early flight we needed to utilize the after hours option, we were there only 1 hour before regular business hours so there was no one there to do a walk around and finalize the rental fro us. A couple of days later when we received the final settlement of the bill we noticed we were charged a $100 cleaning/smoking fee. NONE of us smoked in the vehicle or would have even thought about it as we are not smokers. Addi tonally I was 6 months pregnant at the time and traveling with my 6 year old child and family including my mom who is a 2x breast cancer survivor. We are NOT smokers. We went around and around for almost 2 weeks with the Long Beach airport locations and even corporate customer service, before the ridiculous and accusatory fee was refunded. There was a slight smell to the vehicle upon pick up, but it was one of a cleaning solution and ABSOLUTELY DID NOT resemble the smell of smoke what so ever, as I would not under any circumstances have accepted the vehicle if that were the case. Overall the experience was very good up to that point, the van was spacious, comfortable, and suited out needs perfectly for the trip. However, as previously stated the return process and customer service received from the Long Beach Airport drop off site was a nightmare.

Pick up at the airport was terrible. Stood outside 40 min waiting. Every other agency had at least 3 busses stop during my wait. Once On board things improved. Kinda slow at the counter and the manager sat in his office instead of patrolling the area in search of ways to help expedite the process. Agents were fine and once at the car the dodge durango was older but was fine. I have one and love it. Only agency where you know you’ll be getting 4wd without the upgrade to a Tahoe or suburban. If the price stays low I’ll use them again for sure

I didnt have to wait long at all, the van was ready for us. I use to only use Budget when I was in town, but now I think AVR has a new long time customer.When we returned our vehicle, The shuttle driver Juan ( I believe) was funny and courteous. He got us there very quick. Thanks AVR!

Airport pickup was a bit difficult since we didn't have a phone number to contact for pickup and the invoice didn't show the correct name of company that I had from our Travel Agent/GDS. Luckily we stumbled upon the white van outside the car rental area at Salt Lake City Airport. The white van could have better signs, logo, etc to locate easier. The drive time from the airport to vehicle pickup area was a bit far from the airport than normal expectations. The vehicle was clean inside and there were no issues.
