Had fun driving their mini-van
Had fun driving their mini-van. I'm planning to go to places again in holidays and when the pandemic is over, so expect that I will rent again. Thank you so much!
Airport Van Rental has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
You need to pay your vendors
Prepaid reservation was cancelled on a pretext and then was insulted by staff.

Very disappointed ordered A 11 passenger van called the night before they said no problem got there they did not have one made me rent two mini Vans and overcharged me
Where do I start?? I rented an AVR van in Houston to take a trip with my family. When I arrived at the location on the scheduled pick up time the van was dirty inside and out. The employee told me he needed to clean it inside. After a 45 minute wait outside, he asked me if I wanted him to wash the outside. I told him I would take care of it at home before my trip. We confirmed weekly rates, free mileage etc. When I returned the van, I delivered it clean inside and out without damage. The employee told me that there would be approximately $1,000 additional mileage charge because I lived in Houston and the free mileage was only if you lived out of town. This was never told to me or agreed to prior to me renting. He told me I could dispute it with customer service and that he would leave the ticket open. I finally got customer service on the phone, had to dispute the whole thing with them and my credit card company. They had also falsely represented that I turned the van in 4 days after I did. We finally settled on payment 2 months later after many emails and phone calls. Today, nearly 6 months later I received a call that they are making a broken windshield claim against me. That raggedy van has probably been rented a hundred times since I returned it and now this. I will never rent from that run down old place again. I should have known something was bad when the couple checking out in front of me was arguing about their rental problems.
The worst customer service that I ever see, Never rent a car there. Bad policies, expensive insurance and bad customer service.
On 11/9/2020 Rented a van from AVR Las Vegas. We needed a 12 Passenger van. First impression of the office/staff was not the best. Very dirty and run down Staff made us feel like we were bothering them. I videoed the entire vehicle as someone was writing down what I saw. Windshield cracked, dents all over. Seats dirty etc... Van did not have full tank of gas, it was dirty on the inside. When I turned the paper work in I commented on the windshield and the van did not have a full tank. She was more concerned I initialed all the spots on the form to accept responsibility. I had a feeling that something was going to bite me when I left. 11/13/2020 The day I turned the van in. I received an e mail that they sent a claim in for a cracked windshield. Which they say was not on the form. So I respond to the email, that they are mistaken and sent them a picture of the windshield with crack circles, and my number for someone to call me I called the following Monday because I had not received a response to my email. The person at the LV office said that person would call me Tuesday due to her day off. Nothing Tuesday. Wednesday I send another e mail. This is the email I received 11/18/2020 Hello, The inspection Agent only had to report the damage. If or when the claims department contacts you, you can then dispute the claim with them. Thank you. Not a name not anything. I have to wait? So maybe at some time in the future The claims department may or may not call me. I will not go into detail of the drivability of the van. The vehicle served its purpose. Customer service goes MILES. It leaves a lasting impression. Everyone makes mistakes maybe the windshield crack was missed by the person inspecting the van prior to me. It is possible. If someone would have called me or even given a little more info in an e mail. I would have never written this review. I will never use AVR again. Mainly because of the Customer Service.
Rented a van a month ahead of time for a family trip to Denver. Our flight was late but we noticed shuttles for all other companies running every 5 to 10 mins. Never saw one from AVR. After waiting almost an hour I called the number on my reservation to see what was going on. They took another half hour to answer. The person who answered claimed he was not in Denver anymore and that they had tried to call me half an hour before my plane lamded. I was obviously on a plane when they tried to call. He basically said no one was coming because their offices had already closed. It was about 3:55pm when he said that to me. Luckily I had not made any prepayment. I quickly booked another van with Budget rentals on my phone, got my family on the next Budget shuttle bus and Budget took excellent care of us. It was a brand new van with plenty of space. From what I've read on other reviews I'm glad it worked out that way since I've read horror stories about the condition of AVR vans. Frankly I'm surprised they are still in business. If I see anyone waiting for AVR at the airport next time. I will be sure to warn them of the terrible service they are about to receive. Seriously if this is the cheapest option you found, take the next cheapest. ANYONE would be better than this company!
DON'T BE A VICTIM LIKE ME. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM AT ALL! STAY AWAY FROM AIRPORT VAN RENTAL! If there are negative or 0 ratings for this business, I would give it to them. We rented a mini van with AVR for a family trip. After spending two hrs on inspecting the vehicle and on the phone with the corporate office, we decided not to pick up the van due health and safety/liability concerns with the following reasons: 1. The van has many exterior and interior damages such as cracked windshield, damaged sliding doors, loose seat cover, many scratches, and dents all over the van. I didn't want to put my family at risk driving such van. 2. There were dirt and sand all over the inside of the van. AVR policy said they will charge you if they find sand in the vehicle. The van wasn't clean properly as AVR stated on their website "commitment to safety." I don't want to put my family at risk of getting COVID-19 virus due to unclean vehicle. 3. The van had 'Engine Check' light on. The Clerk said to the corporate office people when they were on the phone with me that no repair has been done since the beginning the COVID-19 pandemic due to budget cuts. That means the vans are not properly maintained/serviced for long-distance travel. 4. Odometers were not functioning properly. How do we keep track of the miles so that it will not exceed the 3000 mile limit? 5. The clerk showed us 3 other vans but they were a lot worse than the reserved one. I spent 2 hours on the phone with the corporate office on the pickup day, but couldn't even come to an agreement nor able to talk to the manager at all. I emailed, Marcus with airportvanrental.com, to refund my money but they wouldn't respond back. It's been almost 2 months already, but haven't heard from them. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. AVR responded that "customer didn't show up to pick up the vehicle." Where I actually came with the intension to pick up the van. My intention for this review is for future customers to learn from my incidence with AVR. I hope AVR is reading my review and change their ways of doing business to put customer's safety as their priority. Thank you for reading through my lengthen review.
I rented a van for a bussiness trip to minnesota and was never serviced , the out come was, that the van broke down on me ,and i there is no AVR in minnesota which i was never told this and they knew i was driving all the way there, then when i called they told me that the repairs on the van was on me , can you belive that!!! NEVER NEVER!! Again i will rent from them , iam not the only one with complaints pls rea them before you rent from this Co. they will rent anything even if is not working properly, they dont care if you brake down in the desert!!! they are SCAMERS!!!
BEWARE! This was the absolute worst experience ever. We had reserved a 15 passenger van for Dallas/Fort Worth from Aug 11-16. Right off the bat we were told that they did not have what we reserved and paid a down payment on. We were offered a 12 passenger van instead. Then we were hit with a "commercial insurance" fee which more than doubled the price we were originally quoted. We got the van and left with part of our party and the other part of our party arriving on a later flight. When we went to pick up the second half of our party is when we realized that the 12 passenger van had an entire row of seats missing and it was 5:30pm and there was no one available to fix the situation. We had to cram everyone in the vehicle like sardines and drive over an hour to our destination for the week. We literally payed over $1,000 for 5 days for a van that held 8 passengers. Then, when we went to return the van, we called ahead to make sure we would be given a shuttle back to the airport. We were assured that we would be. When we got there, there was 1 person working and a room full of mad customers, none of which were given a shuttle and we had to find our own uber and spend another $20 just to get back to the airport, and almost missed the flight. It was not only horrible service, but horrible customer service and a complete rip off. I would avoid renting from this place at ALL COST! If I could give this company less than 1 star I would do it. I feel we should be re-reimbursed at least partially, because we in no way received the services we paid for or were promised in our contract.
Very poor experience with customer service during the covid. They have made many promises without following up on anything. I have been waiting for over two months to be refunded. They ignore my requests, do not answer emails and have also provided a telephone number that is out of use. AVOID using airport van rental.
AVR - Denver is a bit shady. Their location is a shuttle ride away from the airport, and isolated (not near any competitors.) So when you get there, you are a bit trapped. They charged me an additional $200 at the counter as a deposit which I was not expecting. They refunded my deposit after I returned the car. At the counter, they said the vehicle was 7/8 full of fuel, it was actually below 3/4 tank. The exterior of the vehicle was very dusty making it difficult to note the many scratches and dents. Inside of the vehicle was clean. They charged me an additional $20 at the counter for after hours drop-off. I returned the vehicle 30 minutes before the closing time posted on their door, yet it was locked and empty. I brought the van to their after hours drop off location across the street, but haven't been refunded my $20 despite my emailed request. The employees I met were both kind and helpful, but I won't do business with AVR again.
I had a rental scheduled for the end of May in conjunction with a trip to the Grand Canyon. But my Grand Canyon trip got cancelled when the covid-19 hit in March I had to cancel my reservation with airport van rentals. Unlike businesses I had reservations with, this outfit would not refund my money. Would only give me a voucher. The problem is I don't have any of their outlets where I live in the Southeastern us oh, so the voucher is worthless to me. I contacted their customer service but they refuse to do anything. Will never rent from them again.
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE THIEVES!!!I f I was able to give this company a - 5 star I would. I rented from AVR located in Phoenix, I returned the van on time clean and full of gas the company requested.I was charge a administration fee of 128.00 and when I asked what for I was not given an answer I asked for reciept and was denied a reciept, so bascially I got robbed and will be suing the company for my money back!! I should have known better than to rent from a company that operates in the middle of the Ghetto out of a trailer!!!Again please do not rent from these crooks unless you like being robbed.
LAX Location This place is a total scam!!!!! Stay away...they told me I needed special insurance but on a Sunday I can’t call my insurance. They offered to sell me insurance which was $35 a DAY, more than the cost of the van rental!!! The lady at the desk, Anna, is a total nightmare. She pulled a bait a switch. They get you to rent a big passenger van but when you get to the counter, they make it impossible for you to take without all of this extra paperwork- so after 2 hrs., you give up and pay extra for a smaller car just to get out of there. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE...it is the worst customer service and scam I have ever seen. No one cares there either.
On Feb 13th 2020 I rented a vehicle ( reservation made few months in advanced at AVR Van Rental ( LAX Branch California ) To make the long story short, I received a $800 bill for a 1/8 of an inch chip on the windshield, while I was told during the the time of pick up, not to worry and or describe anything larger than a quarter coin. I’m sure I’m not the only one who got SCAM with this situation and would like to make everyone aware of the type of business they do. They still holding $ 200 dollars from the time we sign the bill and refused to return the funds.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are CLUELESS
I am not one to post a negative review but people need to be careful with this company! Flew into LAX and discovered we had to take 2 shuttles to get to this shady location. Nobody in line, 3 workers and a manager and took at least an hr to get the van. I couldn't figure out what the holdup was. My flight was a little early so they got me with a change fee or something. My bill came out $43 more than what I was quoted for having the van 2hrs longer. Also, they charge a $200 deposit on top of rental fee. I was told verbally that I would receive my $200 deposit back. They said they would email me the receipt. I did not receive an emailed receipt and I was refunded only $174. I should call them to complain but frankly, I prefer to just not deal with them anymore and think of it as a learning experience. Good thing we returned the van 3 hrs before our flight since the return took around 45 minutes. I'm thinking " wow, a lot of people must miss their flight with this service."
If I could give them no stars in Los Angeles I would!!! This was by far one of the most hacked experiences I have ever endured with my wife and 2 kids in the middle of the night!!! First off, when we got to LAX we had to call to get instructions on how to get to the rental office...no big deal, but I called and they said one of the drivers would be there to get us in their van. First red flag was the fact that we were told we had to go to the top level, where non of the other rental companies are, and look for “CL Parking”...we could find “CL Parking”. So I called again and was told “it’s over by the hotel and parking lot pick up”. Went over to that area, still couldn’t find “CL Parking”. We walked up and down the level, talk to an officer and asked them where it was, and they told us that rental car company pickups are all on the same level and we needed to go back downstairs. So all 4 us wheeling our bags around went back down to the lower level AGAIN!!! Couldn’t find “CL Parking”!!! I called a 3rd time and asked what EXACTLY am I looking for, because it’s been over an hour since our plane landed and we first contacted them. The person put me on hold and said and when they came back said we should have someone there in about 15 minutes or so...it’s a white passenger van that said “CL Parking” on it. One would think that the van would be clearly marked, right?? So we were looking and looking and waiting and waiting and finally about a half an hour later a white passenger van with small lettering near the bottom! The driver, Arthur, was extremely nice and very helpful. He took us to the van rental office and dropped us off. This place was sketchy at best!!! It was really poorly lit with paper signs taped up telling us where we needed to go. There was one other passenger with us upon pickup at the airport and she had to leave the rest of her party at the airport to get dropped off at the rental office. They only wanted to pick up the drivers and leave the rest of their party at the airport...not gonna happen in my case!!! I’m not leaving my wife and children alone at LAX while I hop in a van and leave them alone for god knows how long!!! When we finally made it inside the office, it was no better...uncomfortable was the first feeling that came to mind, but we waited, and waited, and waited in line for our turn, which seemed excessive because there were more people working there than there was customers!!! Maybe about another half hour later the woman in front of me, that was by herself, spoke up and said “excuse me guys, I have a reservation” to which the gentleman who was clearly in charge told her that “he’s busy and would deal with her when he was done”!!! At that point, I looked at my wife and said that’s it, I’m done, I’ll call an Uber and go somewhere else. So while I was standing in line I cancelled my reservation online, on my phone. As we starting walking out the guy in charge said “what’s the matter, where are you going?” And I then informed him that I cancelled my reservation online. He could have cared less. He said “oh” and went on doing whatever he was doing. When we got outside the driver that had picked us up at the airport was pulling back in with more passengers, so I asked him where the closest rental car place was, or how to get back to the airport. He was very apologetic about the situation and told us that he had to run back to LAX and would bring us back and drop us off so we could get set up with a different rental car company. He started putting our stuff in the back of the van and the “guy in charge” came outside and asked what I was doing. I told him I was trying to rent a car, at which point he snapped at me about canceling my reservation. As we stood in a shady part of some random neighborhood with my wife and 2 kids in the middle of the night after having dealt with the situation since hours earlier. I lost it on the guy!!! We got in a screaming match in the parking lot. Long story short...Don’t!!
Worst experience I’ve ever had , if you think dmv service is bad then rent a vehicle from avr!! Reserved month in advance and when I got there they told me they were out of vehicles and I could wait for 4hrs when one was suppose to be back in
AVR LA had a large van listed for a great price that we booked. When I got to the office, they wouldn't let me rent it unless I provided my car insurance information which I didn't pack with me, and it was 11:00pm at night which meant I probably couldn't track that information down. They told me they had a minivan for just a few more dollars a day. I said fine. When I got the paperwork, I asked about the charges listed and the employee pointed out I would only be paying this one line she pointed at. However, when I brought the car back, the final bill ended up over 225% higher than my original booking! There’s a price listed for the van and then a separate price for changing your reservation. Called manager Calvin about this he didn’t care at all. Also, you have to take two shuttles to get to their office. After the first shuttle, It took them 45min to come get me after waiting on an LA street corner in 40 something degree weather at night. I had also left my tired wife and 5 small kids waiting at the airport this whole time too. I had called the place twice while waiting to see if the shuttle was coming and the woman, Elizabeth, acted annoyed that I had called and lied to me about the driver being stuck in airport traffic. When the shuttle driver finally came, he explained no one told him I was waiting. He also kindly offered to go back and pick up my family that was waiting at the airport. He came back 5 min later with them.
