We waited 45 minutes on the curb at the…

We waited 45 minutes on the curb at the airport for the van. Way too long! The car we reserved was not available. The car we were given was very dirty, inside and out. Nearly every time I called the office in Denver, I got a recorded message and no access to a live person. Not a good experience renting from your company.

The service was good everything went ok…

The service was good everything went ok til I drop car back off when they was closed so I could catch my flight back home. Once I got home I saw they charge me extra $100 for smoking marijuana they say when me or my girls don’t smoke

Would have been 5 stars but exterior…

Would have been 5 stars but exterior was dirty, windshield dirty/bugs on it. Looked like it hadn’t been washed in months.

The check-in process was painfully…

The check-in process was painfully long. The return process was terribly understaffed so they just had us leave without checking the van and printing our bill. We also returned early to avoid the surprise $20 charge if you drop it off before they open or after they close. None of the big rental places surprise you with $20 dropoff fees.

Took over an hour to get my rental in…

Took over an hour to get my rental in LAX, and that was with only 1 person in front of me in line. Staff at LAX was not very friendly either and 2-3 employees were just sitting in an office chatting. Also, it did not say when I booked with AVR that you need to take 2 shuttles just to get to the rental place. I was traveling with a toddler and would have been pertinent information to know. Returned the vehicle in ONT and their staff was helpful and nice.

It takes 2 different shuttles to get there and drop off is at arrivals vs departures and when I drop off car no one is waiting and it takes a long time for them check the car - the price was cheaper but not worth the hustle- will not rent from them again

First

First, you have to wait an extra 10-15 minutes for a special ride to the off-site location. On arriving, they have 2 vans and more waiting. I signed up for a carseat and insurance online when I made the reservation. When I got there they had no idea of either and charged me $60 for the carseat and $160 for the insurance, which is usually $10-14 per day other places. I opted out of this and relied on credit card back up. Upon returning the van, we were past the 6 pm cut off and they charged us an extra $20 to return the van to another off site location. I would never use them again, too much waiting and extra hidden charges. We ended up saving nothing, spending more and wasting more time.

Great service if you need a Mini-van instead of a regular sedan

If you are looking to rent a van rather than a plain old sedan this place is great .. worked out good for us. It is a bit more of a pain getting to the rental place because you have to take a free bus to the remote rental car pickup location and then they will send a shuttle to that location to pick you up BUT it is not that difficult of a process and really worth it since you can rent a nice mini-van for about the same cost as a regular car rental from Hertz, Avis etc. and the added space of the mini-van was great for us. The drop off was easy .. just went to their location and one of their shuttle drivers drove us directly to the terminal that our flight left from.

Bad communication, Good service

The communication component is horrible. I called the number online for my location and it directed me to some call center I believe who wasn't at my location. The agent the picked up the phone was careless and answered my question with incorrect information. I got to the store and the staff there had an excuse for everything as "the site is third party and doesn't reflect our policy in full." I was there and was hit with different information from the call center agent and gave me and it delayed my appointment and schedule. Although after I got everything and paid more than they assured me I was going to pay, the process was swift and easy and so was the drop off. Everything else they did right after paperwork was settled but I didm't have a good experience leading up to renting my van.

Horrible Customer Service. Would not honor unlimited miles even under my reservation

The service was horrible as they would not honor my reservation for unlimited miles. Beware as they even told me to go somewhere else if I wasn’t happy with their policies. They were rude and unaccommodating. The truck they had initially showed me was old and not very clean. I would not recommend them at all. Go to another large company where they give you unlimited miles with better vehicles.

Very inconvenient couldn’t fix mistakes…

Very inconvenient couldn’t fix mistakes or give credits. Not very friendly. I felt like I was putting them out! I would never rent from them or Hotwire again.

Overall not a terribly bad experience

Overall not a terribly bad experience. Pick up and drop off were quick. Just as good as any other rental company I’ve used. Only disappointments were, I had booked a large SUV with a roof rack online, and when I got there, they told me they don’t have roof racks on their vehicles. Luckily we managed to fit all our suitcases and snowboard/skis in the truck. Also, pretty long wait for the airport shuttle to the actual rental place.
