The customer service was outstanding…
The customer service was outstanding the lady helped me in so many ways, I appreciate what she did. Thank you and yes i will rent again.
Airport Van Rental has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
You need to pay your vendors
Prepaid reservation was cancelled on a pretext and then was insulted by staff.

Trouble with my CC, my car had been in an accident. Everyone there, especially Alex, were determined to put me in a van. They could not have been more caring and helpful.
Staff wasn’t polite and was very rood. We were forced to purchase additional insurance which we already have the coverage for rental car. We strongly recond all our friends and families NOT to go this place for ever and keep trying share the BAD experience we had through all the media.
When I arrived to pick up our rental Van the woman that was helping me was rude and was talking to me like I was dumb, she tried to up charge me around $300 dollars without telling me only after she swiped my card. She tried to add extra insurance without my consent. My original reservation of $208 was now over $500. When questioned about it she all of a sudden had different answers and was able to only charge what the state of California requires for insurance which brought my total to $258 which was ok and I was happy with but the fact that she tried to pull one over on me was not ok. Then the shuttle van that was taking us back to the airport had ripped, seats smelt bad, and the shuttle driver was in sweats and a sweat shirt not very perfessional to me. Also he was on his phone texting while driving me and my 2 young children not ok!!
I rented the vehicle through Hotwire and was as expected charged immediately for the rental. Three days into the rental I was charged again by Airport Van Rental for the same vehicle and amount I had already paid. Six days later I received a refund less $25. I'm still not sure why I wasn't refunded the whole amount. I also had a flat tire on the trip that eventually AVR agreed to pay. I spent 1.5 hrs on the phone after the repair trying to get AVR to pay the tire repair shop. The manager Marcus avoided my calls and I believe told the customer reps to hang up on me as I was disconnected so many times I can't count them all. I never did talk to Marcus and eventually a woman from AVR paid the tire repair facility even though I was told Marcus was the only person authorized to pay.
Excellent service, much cheaper than other rental companies, vehicle in very good condition, exactly what we needed. Shuttle from Airport Terminal 6 to "Remote Rental Lot" was a bit tricky: after picking up luggage, missed the first bus, the second was full. Thanks to a tip from the bus driver, we walked to Terminal 2 pickup point and caught the next bus there. But it took over an hour to get from the airport to the van rental office. The return was much easier, the AVR shuttle took us directly to our terminal...very friendly driver.
Great customer service, and a reliable comfortable ride.
I booked the van because it was a good value. I didn't like that the transaction was final and first tried to book a van with another company with free cancellation. They were out of vans so I took a chance. My plane was an hour late and I could not find your company at the Sacrament Airport--as advertised. I called and found you were ten miles away! I was then told that my hold was taken off the vehicle because I didn't pick it up at the stated time. The customer service person said I was lucky, no one else had taken it, so transportation was provided for my wife and I and I took the vehicle. Question: If I am paying for the vehicle--with no cancellation available, why would this vehicle be potentially taken away because my flight was late?? I purposely wanted a vehicle at the airport property and felt deceived about where you actually were. The van was in excellent mechanical condition but was pretty beat up on the outside, with scratches and dings all over and peeling paint on one of the panels. All that set aside, I would have been ok with the experience had not my credit card been double-charged. Hotwire is checking on that now.
VEHICLE FELT UNSAFE. BRAKES VIOLENTLY SHAKING ON FREEWAY. ENGINE WAS MISFIRING/RUNNING ROUGH AND POSSIBLE ENGINE MOUNT BROKEN CAUSING LOUD CLUNKING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY BUT AVR COMPANY FAILS TO COMPLETE REPAIRS TO HAVE VEHICLE IN ACCEPTABLE DRIVING CONDITIONS. WILL NOT RETURN TO AVR
We used avr for the very first time and we had an excellent experience. The agents were so friendly and accommodating. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to family and friends.
Staff very friendly and professional. Had a good experience renting with them.
VERY NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Renting was simple and affordable and it was in a great location!
It was my first time renting from Airport Van Rental, and it went fairly well. There was literally no line when I went into the office, so I didn't need to wait long and was helped right away. The person helping me was friendly and explained everything to me clearly. By the time I got to the office and left with my rental van, I probably only spent about 10 minutes total - the quickest service I ever got renting a car! The only con for me would probably have to be the pricey insurance. A few days prior to picking up my rental car, I called the office and was told insurance would cost around $25/day. However, on the day I went to pick up my rental van, the person helping me told me that that was the old price, and that it was around $30/day. I wasn't too happy about this change in prices and the cost of the insurance overall, but other than that, pretty satisfied with my first time renting from this business.
1) you have to take 2 shuttles to get to the location. When we called (had to borrow a phone as we weren't travelling with one) from the airport, they wouldn't arrange the 2nd shuttle. We had to call again from the end of the first shuttle. As we had no phone, HASSLE. Why couldn't it have been arranged on the first call. 2) When we arrived we were told we had to provide proof from our home country of liability insurance. It is in their policies I was told. We booked through Expedia. When I went through policies on Expedia there was only a note saying "may be extra charges for insurance". Nothing saying that we had to provide proof. So instead of being able to be prepared and bring such proof, we found out at the counter and had to buy their liability. If this information was clear ahead of time and I messed up or chose not to bring the required information, fine. But it wasn't clear, so extremely frustrating. 3) Finally after sorting all this out it was 1.5 hours after our booked rental time, the van we rented wasn't ready!!!!!!!! So we had to wait 20 minutes for it to show up. 4) The desk attendant answered our questions, nothing more. Won't say she was unfriendly, but certainly wouldn't classify her as customer service oriented. She did not even apologize for the van not being ready when I mentioned it was 1.5 hours after it was supposed to be. All it would have taken was a "we are very sorry it isn't ready". But all we got was "it isn't ready, you will have to wait". 5) oh yeah, and the van we rented had 75,000 miles on it. Which in fairness, it was in reasonable shape for its age....... So overall, not a great experience. But could easily have been improved so it was. Didn't get the feeling though that they cared to improve it!
Everyone that worked there was extremely nice and helpful and the prices were great! Would highly recommend.
Have used for a few years and always been great service
Everything was fine for the most part just had a really negative experience with the customer service call center and trying to locate the car return at sky harbor airport. I drove around for about half an hour trying to locate the car return as the address in google maps was not accurate. Then noticed a sign on the “designated return” gate saying the address has changed and provided a new address. I went to that address and there were road closure signs, it wasn’t accurate. Then I asked a worker on break where it was and he finally directed me. During all of this I called customer service and all the lady could tell me was it’s located at sky harbor airport. She couldn’t give me an address and was a little rude on the phone. Had I had a flight, I would have missed it. 45 minutes later I finally found the return.
Excellent Service!
Worked like a charm. Price was so much lower than onsite rentals at airport.
