Flies on the buffet food

Our stay was at Holme Lacey House near Hereford. One of the Warner Leisure hotels. We visited the market garden restaurant for breakfast and Dinner when we noticed that the buffet food on the centre stall underneath the skylight window was crawling with green-bottle flies, they were also crawling on the mirror behind our table. For this reason we avoided selecting food from this area so our choice of buffet was limited to hot food only. I believe this was wholly unacceptable and constituted a safety hazard that could have resulted in an illness. We have visited other Warner hotels so much so that we are platinum guests and have never experienced this before.

A
Perfect Stay

I have stayed at 13 of the Warner Sites. Most recently was my 6th stay at Heythrop Park, my favourite of them all. The sheer expanse of the place is breathtaking. With a choice of 3 superb restaurants to dine in and 2 entertainment venues to enjoy visiting acts or the in-house entertainment team, it is the perfect place for a break.

L
Deteriorating Warner service

Warner have brought in a policy of not servicing rooms the day after arrival. This is appalling. We pay a lot of money to stay at Warner, we should not have to do our own housekeeping. We are disgusted about this new policy.

This was the first stay at The…

This was the first stay at The Runneymede on Thames, we have stayed at many Warner's before. We were welcomed at the reception and given our keys. There is only one small lift which is suppose to hold 6 but when you get wheelchairs in there is not much room even for the carer. Food was not as good as he has been other times and the activities which are now charged for was not good either. Prices had gone up with drinks etc but there was now a service charge on drinks brought to your table. The entertainment was very good and the room was clean and tided each day. We have decided that this would be our last Warner's holiday as we cannot see things getting any betteer

Cutting Corners at Warners

1. Every radiator in room was on 23 degrees on an already sweltering hot day. 2. No shower head just the hose for several hours so had to go to Afternoon Tea hot and sweaty. 3. No extensive tea tray as advertised only pg tips. 4.  No nibbles like we have always had at Warners. Fridge only had 1 small can of still water and 1 small can of sparkling water, not enough to even take all our tablets. They said they stopped this in April. Well, we booked in March and had no notification about this and they should honour what's advertised or offer money back as your lead to believe it's so expensive because your getting all these little extras. 4. Room was next to a fire door which made a very loud banging sound everytime someone went through it so was unable to sleep till 3am and then it started again at 6am. 5. VIP table on Friday night was ridic ulous.  No designated waiter just had to wait till you could see someone and table was 3 rows back yet there were front seats available.  We were sandwiched between 2 big large men and could barely move.  When we asked about the free drink the options were very limited.  So we paid 26 quid for a rubbish squashy seat and a small glass of horrid house wine.  Nothing VIP about it at all. 6.  As of 4th April archery and rifle shooting is payable.  We booked before April and were not notified.  7. We booked this break because of Shania Twain and it stated it was evening nightly entertainment.  That's how it was advertised.  We then found it she was on at 3pm in the afternoon.  Again false advertising we do have screen shots which clearly say nightly entertainment with her name under it.  This was just devastating as we couldn't make the afternoon because we planned our weekend around the false advertising.  This was all too stressful and I was having severe anxiety and we were totally upset and felt like this was not the Warners we had experienced previously.  We were so let down and unhappy with the whole situation that we decided to check out.  We made reception aware of every issue as it happened and at one point the receptionist was quite rude to me.  On checking out we reiterated our issues but they didn't seem bothered at all.  It's all down to false advertising and bad management and lack of communication.   I mean seriously they could have got us some extra waters but they were adamant it's 1 each.  After looking at trip advisor and other forums it seems that Warners are heading downhill.

Drop in standards

After spending quite a few years visiting Warners Hotels, our recent visit, although nice was definitely a drop in standards. We visited Alvaston Hall Hotel, which we have stayed at over ten times before. The entertainment was first class I have to say, along with the staff. However, yes the cleaning side had dropped but for me the food had dropped in standards. There was NO MARMALADE at breakfast, not a big ask and definitely has always been available other times we have stayed. There was a definite drop in the standard of meals too. The prices have gone up but the standards gone down, I suggest those in charge need to come and have a look at what customers want. People will start to look elsewhere if this is not looked into.

Title: Disappointing Experience – Breach of Contractual Terms

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Warner Leisure Hotels. I booked a holiday almost 12 months ago, at which time the package included complimentary optional activities such as rifle shooting and archery. However, I have since been informed that, as of April this year, these activities have been reclassified as chargeable extras. This change directly contradicts the terms and conditions in place at the time of booking, which clearly state that there will be no increase in the cost of the holiday after confirmation. This alteration represents a clear breach of contract and has resulted in an increase in the overall cost of the holiday—something I did not agree to. It is both disappointing and concerning that a company of this stature would implement such changes without honoring prior agreements. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Warner Leisure Hotels and will not be booking with them again.

Unable to get hold of a senior manager

ref Littlecote 26.05.2025 4 nights Unable to get hold of a senior manager. No one on the phones can help and all the email addresses for senior people on the internet seem to have been changed. This experience relates to the Warner review I did on 12th January this year. As it doesn't seem possible to find anyone to provide a sensible a fair resolution to the problem I'm hoping I get a decent response to this. I sent the following email to two addresses and it was returned each time. The email follows - URGENT ATTENTION PLEASE Dear Mr ........... I'm disappointed and surprised that a situation has arisen forcing me to write to you. I'm a regular customer at Warner's and have been looking forward to taking my dementia wife for another break at Littlecote. Our first visit to Littlecote was in January this year. We enjoyed our trip except my wife was unable to use the shower in the bath because the screen left too little room to safely get in and out. (I subsequently left a review about this). I was told that next time simply get in touch beforehand and ask for a walk in shower. In filling in my details this time I looked at the filter options and chose twin beds. There was no mention of showers but I wasn't concerned as I decided to follow the advice and simply get in touch. The confirmation was sent to me on the evening of the 7th May. I was out the next day and Friday morning so I called Littlecote direct at around 3pm on Friday 9th and was told they were too busy to speak to me because they were dealing with the arrival of clients. So I searched the Internet for an email address and you can see below the address I found and what I said. As I hadn't received a reply I called Littlecote at around 10am today to be told I had used the wrong email address and that there were no rooms available with a walk in shower. Littlecote said they could do nothing except in the remote instance of a cancellation. So I called Warner central and they said there was nothing they could do. They said there was an option to choose a walk in shower from the filter but then said oh it wouldn't have shown if they had all been taken. I wasn't to know that was I? Surprised at the very disappointing news I said we will have to cancel. Then I was told there will be a cancellation fee. Although they were aware of the circumstances I was amazed. There was nothing I could have done to prevent the situation from arising. I had paid the insurance in case there was an issue on our part for cancelling but this situation was not of my making. The situation now is that we still would like to go on this holiday. The patio is not important and neither is the signature room. The only important things are that we must have twin beds and a walk in shower. If it remains impossible to provide this holiday then in all fairness I feel justified in expecting a full refund of all moneys paid including insurance. IN CONCLUSION - I got no satisfactory response from the management but as soon as I had time during the hotel's opening time and when they were not too busy to talk to me I called Reception at the hotel and a different lady found a twin bedded room with a walk in shower. It didn't include the Signature standard of room or the patio but I accepted it. They made no monetary concession for the lower standard of room or loss of patio.

We are shortly going to stay at Noton grange. When we booked it last may all activities were included. However we have just found out you now have to pay for all activities. I feel cheated as the activities were one of the reasons we booked it. Warners never bothered to inform us

Cricket st thomas

We stayed at cricket st thomas for the 3rd time. This year they are charging £8.50 for archery and rifle shooting. The room is not cleaned the day after you arrive. We found the menu abit to repeatable, but the food was nice, especially the Puddings. Staff= there was a young lad called Sam who served drinks . He was an absolute star. He was so busy , he never stopped. Very polite and a cheery face , a credit to warner. Entertainment = Josh Jones and Micheal Ewer were fantastic. They did an excellent blues brothers act. They also sang with the resident band Distinction. They were better than the other 'singers'. Lovely grounds but unfortunately you can no longer hire a mobility scooter there. I cannot believe they have stopped this, so I couldn't go around the gardens. So abit of a mixed review , some good and some not so good points.

Excellent , enjoyable break

My wife and I visited our first Warner Hotel at Cricket St Thomas for a 2night break to experience the facilities , entertainment etc. we were not disappointed. The room ( Signature)was very comfortable and clean . A welcome selection of tea , coffee ,crisps, biscuits etc was available on our arrival . The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast served every possible appetite. The evening entertainment was also very good . I must also say that the grounds are beautiful and well cared for , with lovely walks across the river . A special mention has to go to our waiter for table 165. A young man by the name of Josh. . His polite manner and attention was excellent . This may have been our first visit to a Warner Hotel , but I am sure it will not be our last . Thank you to all the team at Cricket St Thomas for making our brief visit so enjoyable .

We recently stayed at Studley Castle

We recently stayed at Studley Castle, we have been there several times. However I am astounded at a new practise they have introduced. They no longer clean the room until the second day. They state it is to allow you to ‘settle in’. They double up on the biscuits etc but not the bathroom supplies (shampoo etc). If you have an early check in (12 o’clock), you need extra supplies as the shampoo and bath /shower cream, do not last for 2 days for 2 people. Despite their boast of a top class luxury stay, introducing such practises is actually not top class at all. I believe it is a way of cutting costs for staffing. We actually went to studley due to our cruise being cancelled and the studley stay cost way more than the cruise! I think it is time for Warners to return to their former ethos and not try to vastly increase costs and decrease service and facilities
