Scammers

They are selling flights already fully booked or cancelled, and moving you (without even asking if it’s convenient) to whatever flight they feel like. In English, it’s called a Scam :) Airport check in is a mess, huge lines and check-in kiosks do not work. Online check in rarely works too. They clearly believe our time is worth as little as theirs.

Today flew back from SGN to Da Lat and…

Today flew back from SGN to Da Lat and could not get the health declaration App to complete. Well you have to complete the health certificate on the app before you can print your boarding pass at the airport. Long story short I asked for assistance and the VN Agent at the airport said he couldn’t help me and for me to call the Vietnamese government. Absolutely unacceptable response. Found what seemed to be a supervisor and he fixed immediately. VN I fly almost 2 to 3 Times a month but this Vietnam airlines agent not worthy of his position and should not be dealing with the general public.

Nach Stornierung des Fluges der am…

Nach Stornierung des Fluges der am 18.03.2020 stattfinden sollte habe ich bis heute mein Geld nicht erstattet bekommen. (Siehe Update unten) Mehrere Versuche Kontakt aufzunehmen waren erfolglos. Nur automatische Antworten. Das wird dem Ruf dieser Airline noch sehr schaden. Das Geld ist wieder gutgeschrieben worden. Daher ist nun das Bild dieser Airline geradegerückt. Dennoch ist es unschön das es über ein halbes Jahr gedauert hat. Kommunikation ist aber Fehlanzeige. Die gibt es schlicht nicht.

Not the worst but still terrible

Not as worst as Vietjet but Vietnam Airlines failed much in several areas. For eg, experienced terrible check-in service in TSN Airport where the staff showed rude unprofessional behavior when hand carry luggage exceeded and demanded i buy the checked uggage in a rowdy manner. Seats are old and worn out, plane took off without warning at the turn. Pretty dangerous with this type of pilot.

My experience here has been nothing but terrible

✅ Trip Verified | Unfortunately having a terrible experience with this airline. I work in the travel industry in Australia and the communication with the staff has been awful. Slow to respond (if ever) and avoiding the refund of my tickets. The issue has been ongoing for 4 months now, before the Corona Virus was even a major issue. I booked online which in their policies, says you can get a refund. I normally am super positive and like to support the travel industry in as many ways possible, however my experience here has been nothing but terrible. The airline still holds $2600 of my money after acknowledging they would refund me. They are just delaying the process. Will not be recommending Vietnam Airlines to any of my clients travelling to Asia. They may have got $2600 out of me but they will lose so much more business moving forward due to the way they are handling their clients in times of crises. I was sympathetic and very patient with them, but now when I require a little bit back from them, even just an email of communication, it is ignored. Poor form VN.

Best Airlines which I used. Friendly service and good pilots. I can only say good things about this airline. For me personally it is very good. 👍 Very safe plane and airline

Sehr überforderter Kundenservice in der aktuellen Situation. Ich habe erst eine Antwort bekommen, als ich der Vietnamesischen E-Mail geschrieben habe, und auch diese Antwort war mehr als eine Woche nach meinem theoretischen Abflug (wohlgemerkt habe ich die Stornierung bestätigt bekommen)

Meldet Euch! Referenz HVWBWC

Der über opodo gebuchte Flug ist laut opodo immer noch bestätigt. Bei opodo sind die Leitungen tot. Keine Ahnung, was dank Covid-19 passiert. Ich warte darauf, dass mein Flugvermittler auf meine E-Mail reagiert. Also habe ich versucht, meine Buchung auf Vietnam Airlines zu verändern. Auch hier gilt der Flug als bestätigt, ich kann aber keine Änderungen vornehmen. Die zu kontaktierende Hotline sitzt in Vietnam, bin ich Krösus? Also habe ich eine E-Mail geschrieben: Mir steht nach Art. 8 EU-FlugVO im Fall einer Annulierung ein Wahlrecht zu - darunter auch das Recht auf die volle Erstattung des Kaufpreises! Da die Rückerstattungsansprüche bezüglich der Flugtickets in Art. 8 EU-FlugVO geregelt sind und dieser auf den Art. 5 Abs. 3 EU-FlugVO keinen Bezug nimmt, kann die Airline die Rückzahlung der Ticketkosten nicht mit dem Argument verweigern, der Flug sei wegen außergewöhnlicher Umstände abgesagt worden (EuGH, Urteil vom 31.01.2013 – C-12/11). Ich habe eine Lesebestätigung erhalten, jedoch noch keine Antwort. Nun, einen halben Tag später, kann ich meine Buhung auf der Seite von Vietnam Airlines nicht mehr einsehen! Im System von Opodo steht sie unverändert als "bestätigt". Ich erwarte dringend Antwort! Das Abflugdatum ist bereits am 19.03.2020! Wir können das ansonsten sehr gerne in erster Instanz über das BfJ klären und notfalls noch weiter vor Gericht verhandeln!

The staff speak terrible English and…

The staff speak terrible English and the one on the phone was really rude to me. She shouted at me. She kept asking me for my reservation number even though I was calling them to make sure they could transfer my package from other airlines before making a reservation. Since I did not make the reservation, I did not have that number and she refused to answer my question and at the same time, talked to me in a very rude voice with Northern Vietnamese accent. I will not use this airlines again. Also, the cabin crew were very very rude to some Korean clients. There's a woman that stood over her seat with her shoes off to put the luggage in the locker, then a staff came in and shouted at her with a very angry face because she stood over the seat. Why didn't you help that client to put the luggage on? Isn't that your responsibility? Overall, this is the worst airlines on earth

So far, so good

We have had 2 flights with Vietnam airlines, the first from Singapore to Hanoi and the second from Hanoi to Hue. The first was about 3 hours. We booked economy but got a decent meal and free drinks. Couldn’t fault it. The second was only an hour but again couldn’t fault it. We paid for the lounge as we had a long wait and it was well worth the 12 us dollars each as was so comfortable with decent food and beer. Staff were polite and friendly and planes were clean and comfortable. Not at all the the other reviews I’ve read. We have another 2 flights with them so I’ll review again when They are done. So far, so good.

Terrible planning and communicaion

Terrible planning and communicaion. Poor service, abysmal customer care which can take longer than your lifespan to reach them. Fly with them at your own risk.

Probably the Worst one by a Mile.

Where to begin? Seats broken, Service extremely poor, every request felt a bit like asking for a favour; seat recliners broken but no-one cares; on board entertainment didn't load until 3 hours into 12 hour flight. On top of that, customer service just doesn't care. Never again, plenty other much better Airlines to chose from.

Flew with this bunch 6th to Ho Chi Minh…

Flew with this bunch 6th to Ho Chi Minh city and then had a connecting flight to Hanoi economy. Horrible food horrible service. From Denang to Ho Chi Minh ticket lady would not allow me to check in two bags even though bags were under weight and ticket clearly showed could check in two bags. Ho Chi Minh to Melbourne was awful. Moved 4 times as TV screens didn't work. Had buzzer on but not attended to. Rarely when flight attendant walked past I would ask for assistance. Last person I sat next to had my tray down and her legs on tray whilst she spread herself lying down. No service and flights domestic or international on this airline are delayed by at least one hour. Never again will I use this airline

Super vol en business cet été pour Hanoï et que ce soit le pilote ou l’équipage. ils sont d'une compétence égale ou supérieur aux compagnies occidentale. car sur 12h de vol on a le temps de voir les défauts . Hassen

Decent airlines company

I had a round-trip flight "Singapore–Tokyo/Osaka-Singapore" and have nothing to blame. Service was good and fast, food was decent enough, plane interior was a bit shabby but it's ok. The only thing I remember is that online check-in didn't work for the back flight so I had to it right in the KIX airport.

j'ai acheté un AR CDG SGN

j'ai acheté un AR CDG SGN, n'ayant pas pu prendre l'aller j'aiacheté un one way plus tard et comptais bien pouvoir prendre mon retour initial et payé. Mais Vietnamairlines a annulé mon retour ce qui m'a obligé à racheter un one way SGN CDG mais pas chez VAL chez qui j ne reviendrai plus

I have never experienced so many delays…

I have never experienced so many delays with an airline before! They have delayed my morning flight! And I was force to buy a new ticket. I have contacted with mail, but no response! This is really not acceptable! I’m losing a whole day in Hoi An, because of this. Now I have to leave earlier, and spend 8 hours at Hanoi international airport, just to catch my flight home!!!

Do not use this airline

We made a mistake and missed our flight from London to HCM city and we realize 1 hour before the departure. We called them and they said that there is nothing that they could do and that we have to call our agency. We assume our mistake and bought another ticket to HCM city thinking that we would be able to use all the rest of the tickets we paid for but they cancelled all of them because we missed the first one. They really did not care. It is so illogical, it is like if you pay in a bakery for 2 breads because there is promotion but after you pay you realize that you just want one and leave the other bread aside (even you paid for it) and the staff of the bakery comes and take the bread that you want to take home because it is both or nothing.
