AVOID AVOID AVOID Worst Customer Service award goes to… *drum roll* Vietnam Airlines ! My flights were cancelled in March 2020 and I still have not received my refund despite continuous attempts to get it! They never reply to emails or answer the phone (half the phone numbers on their website are disconnected.. try giving them a ring before purchasing tickets) They only replied to my many emails after I threatened them with legal action. Since they're not letting me log a formal complaint I've come here to leave a public one. Do not use this airline!
I would strongly suggest you avoid booking anything with Vietnam Airlines - contact with them is almost impossible - no proper working UK contact number and e-mails largely go unanswered. Amateur and shambolic back office set up. And I'm still waiting for a refund for a flight they cancelled last summer.
I have flown with them a couple times now and every time my flight has either been canceled or delayed by more than two hours. The crazy part is they don’t relay that information until you get to the airport, the representatives even confirms the reservation with a phone number- so at the least they should be able to text! It is frustrating!
I booked flights to Cambodia via Vietnam from th e UK with Vietnam Airlines. Due to Covid 19 all flights were cancelled. I was due to fly in November. I have applied for a refund for my flights through the customer service email and the refund request page on the website. Now my booking reference number inst even recognised. It was 2 months ago!! They never respond apart from the same automated email. If i want to speak to anybody i have to call Vietnam from the UK!! Even though they have an office based in London. Awful service. Just avoid using them. If anything goes wrong they obviously don't care about the customers who have parted with their hard earned cash. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!
I had a flight from Vietnam to Japan and this one is cancelled because the Covid-19. Two months ago i have make a request for my booking. Now a view weeks ago my booking is not exist anymore and i have no money get back. It’s a shame!!
Bonjour, Nous avons réservé un vol Denpasar (Bali) - Paris CDG (France) opéré par votre compagnie aérienne en date du 25 juin 2020. Numéro de billets : 738-3322464776 et 738-3322464777. Nous avons effectué cette réservation par le biais de Travelgenio, avons effectué une demande de remboursement suite à l'annulation de notre voyage et à ce jour nous n'avons reçu AUCUN REMBOURSEMENT depuis 6 mois !!!! J'ai contacté Travelgenio un nombre incalculable de fois qui me dit être toujours en attente du remboursement des billets par la compagnie aérienne, cela est interminable ! Cela ne dépend maintenant plus que de vous, je vous prie de bien vouloir faire le nécessaire dans les plus brefs délais et procéder rapidement au remboursement afin que Travelgenio puisse nous rembourser par la suite. Hatten einen Flug nach Bali gebucht für Juni 2020. Als dann die Flüge geändert und letztlich gestrichen wurden, habe ich erst einen Gutschein statt einer Erstattung gewählt. Nun da sich die Corona Situation nicht besser geworden ist, habe ich um eine Erstattung gebeten. (Per Mail in Englisch) Innerhalb von 5 Std. erhielt ich eine Übersicht welche ich noch bestätigen musste. Nach Bestätigung der Übersicht erhielt ich innerhalb von 25 Minuten die Bestätigung das dass Geld ausgezahlt wird. 5 Tage später war das Geld auf meinen Konto. Selbst die Sitzplatzreservierungsgebühren wurden mir mit erstattet. Alles in allem kann ich kein schlechtes Wort über diese Airline verlieren. Hatte damals direkt bei Vietnamairlines.com gebucht. Ich würde dort wieder buchen. (Und wenn Corona vorbei ist wahrscheinlich auch)
Bin schon oft mit Vietnam Airline nach Südostasien gereist, halt die Premium Economy für eine der Besten. Wir hatten für den September einen Flug nach Bali gebucht. Diesen habe ich aufgrund der bekannten Umstände storniert. Schnelle habe ich von der Airline eine Bestätigung der Stornierung und eine Zusage für eine vollständige Erstattung erhalten. Und ? Seitdem sind fast 3 Monate vergangen und die Airline antwortet nur noch mit automatisierten Mails. Selbst die Lufthansa war da schneller mit der Erstattung ( allerdings mit anwaltlicher Unterstützung) Update: Ich habe mittlerweile mein Geld erhalten ( Ende September )
I have had the same poor experience as previous commentators with Vietnam Airlines. I was finally promised ,In August a refund within 30 days which wasn’t received and now my emails are getting ignored . My flights were booked for April 2020 and I need the money in my account. Such a shame as not only would I never use this airline again but I would also carefully consider whether to visit Vietnam itself !
My flight to Vietnam back in May got cancelled due to COVID-19. I received an email to say i'd be entitled to a full refund back on 12th April, to which it said i would be paid onto the original card after 3 months from the date of the the refunding ticket. 3 months later i still hadn't received any communication or anything. I tried to call the hotline, which was always busy, my emails frequently got ignored. I ended up calling the London Vietnam office who informed me that in July they were still refunding flights from March....i work in finance for a premium travel company so if they still in fact refunding bookings from March, they either lied to me or if in fact this is true are they even paying their clients back at all? Mid July i get an email to say they've processed my refund (to me that means processed for payment) and that it would take up to 30 business days to reach my account....it still hasn't after this time is up. No one will help me or advise me on the status of this payment and i'd like that money back into my account ASAP. We treat our clients with the utmost respect and it is extremely disappointing that myself and my friends who have all booked separately are still going through this process when it should have been sorted months ago. It really makes me question whether this is a company i would choose to travel with in the future, especially if this doesn't get resolved soon
Vietnam Airlines cancelled our flight due to covid 19 they hold our money in their account Vietnam Air. The date of flight has passed so no service was provided. They failed to refund our money to date. The choices of today reflect the decisions of tomorrow may we all affected hold stronger and longer to those decisions until the day life ends for us. Sadly I love Vietnam but due to this Airlines decision I will not be returning, I am certain many people that would have gone back will possible make that same decision. This is money that can never be recouped lost forever to other travel choices people with make when this is over.
I wont use these thieves anymore. Flown with this airline a few times with no problems. I booked return flights from bangkok to Danang. VN airlines cancelled the flights due to covid-19 since then they have ignored my request for a refund and have ignored all my emails. I have had to get my credit card issuer involved.
They’ll take your money with no hesitation and then refuse to give it back if anything happens that means you can’t fly. Scumbags who deserve to go out of business!
Poor response from the airline after asking them to provide me in writing that I did not travel on their flights back in April to submit to my insurance so I could claim back the money. They responded once saying they cannot refund my tickets which wasn’t what I asked and since then have ignored my emails. Work in the travel industry myself so certainly won’t be recommending them in future!
Over 3 months waiting for a refund. Had to cancel many flights due to COVID-19 but Vietnam Airlines is the only company that just seems to not care at all. On my future trips to Vietnam I will be avoiding this joke of a company and I’d advise anyone else to do the same!
I think the recent months have shown how state run, socialist government, treat customers. Used to use Vietnam Airlines many times each year. Pretty average airline, no real complaints, nothing special. Due to COVID-19 my return flight was cancelled "with no other routing". Tried to contact them to arrange a return flight at a later date via email and telephone - NO RESPONSE. Just auto-responders pointing me to their website that says my booking doesn't exist. I shall avoid this monkey operated airline forever. Let's hope my credit card company can be more helpful. Hope you go broke soon Vietnam Airlines, or perhaps your commie owners will get busted.
Cancelled my flights, never told me, didn't refund my money.
Never using this company again. The solution to all their problems is call the office. London office never answers the phone (found out they don't even deal with UK customer service so no point having an office here) , Heathrow desk never answers the phone and the MAIN office in Vietnam never answers the phone. All they had to do is answer the phone or an email. Useless company, horrible service. I ended up taking a flight refund instead of the 120% vouchers due to the lack of communication Vietnam airways is capable of. Even that took over 6 months. Edit: Finally got hold of a rep on 020 3263 2062, who was very rude; they just repeated the same thing then hung up. Mention they are still doing refunds from March, which I was told my a college living in Vietnam, contacted on my behalf within the country, last April. They've spent 4 months sorting out refunds for 1 month. Was told I can expect a refund in 6 moths which takes it over the option of doing a chargeback at my bank. I will be doing a chargeback now.
