I knew TID would be there if I needed them.

I have taken out TID before but haven't found the need to make a claim yet. I had an amazing holiday in Bali and nothing went wrong, thank goodness. I knew that TID would take care of anything I needed from flight delays to personal accidents. TID is good value for money and I will use them every time I travel.

Would not purchase again

Got my luggage delayed over night by the airline. Had no clothes or toiletries. TID will not cover the cost of anything until luggage is lost for at least 12 hours. This was useless to me.

nice surprise

I very nice surprise to be contacted after my UK trip. I have not had to make a claim on anything was happy to be thought of after getting home. I had a lovely trip to welcome a new Granddaughter so was on Grandma duties. Thank you again for the contact have already booked next trip and insurance.

Excellent value and a really good app

I've used TID for regular travel for the past 4 years. I've yet to make a claim but from other reviews and word of mouth from others who have I have no doubt it will be a seamless process if/when I do. As an added bonus the Tripwise app is actually quite useful when travelling to new destinations. Happy to recommend TID to everyone I know.

Friendly Insurance Company

I recently travelled to Vietnam & although I never had to make a claim TID contacted me after the trip to make sure everything was fine. I found them to be reasonably priced in a competitive market. I will use them again in the very near future.

So far so good!

I've never had to make a claim with this company, although have used it many times over the past 10+ years. It is hard for me to comment therefore about my experience with TID, except to say that the customer service has been excellent, on the phone and email. It is very easy to sign up for insurance and it seems to be very good value for money. I like the website, very clean and easy. TID was one of the few companies that was able to fully insure us when we went to Egypt earlier this year. Egypt has 'reconsider need to travel' advisory on Smart Traveler - but TID provided us with the assurance that in the unlikely event that anything went wrong, they'd be behind us. By the way, nothing went wrong and we had the most fantastic time, never felt unsafe, not even uncomfortable.

Very pleased with the process and outcome

I took out travel insurance, but like most people, hoped that I wouldn't need to use it. When I found myself in the unfortunate circumstances when I did need to make an insurance claim, I was unsure of what to expect and was honestly quite apprehensive about the process being too overwhelming and complicated. It turned out that TID provided very clear and user-friendly instructions on how to submit a claim and clear explanations about what is covered or not. As a result, I was very pleased with the outcome, as I felt that I received the coverage that I was entitled to. I also found that the process of purchasing the insurance and submitting the claim was clearly explained. I realised, in hindsight, that I didn't need to stress so much about it after all.

Amazing service and support! Would not insure with anyone else!

To the wonderful TID team, I would just like to say that I was extremely impressed by the service which was provided to me while I was away in Nepal on the Mount Everest Base Camp trail. I was extremely unwell in the high altitude country, but they supported me throughout the entire process. The local guide and staff wanted to heli-evacuate me to the closest hospital in Lukla which was at the base of the trek, but the TID team looking after me insisted and arranged for my care and urgent evacuation to a larger hospital direct to Kathmandu where I was given much better support and medical attention. During the whole time, they liaised directly with my local guide and didn't ask me any questions. I would have been in a much worse condition, but they were on top of everything and paid all my hospital fees upfront when I arrived. When I spoke to the TID team at the hospital, all they did was check to make sure I was feeling better and being looked after properly at the hospital. I have never been assisted so well and the support which I was provided by all staff at TID was amazing. They checked on my condition regularly via phone and emailed me regularly to make sure I was being taken care of by all the hospital staff. I have insured with TID before, but this was the first time I ever needed to make a claim. I can't thank TID enough and I will definitely continue insuring with TID as my travel insurance provider. I had no issues at all in making the claim and would highly recommend them to anyone who chooses to travel.

Trusting someone who you know will support you

Having used TID previously when I did have to make a claim after having my pocket picked, I had no hesitation in insuring my holiday to Korea with TID again. I was really impressed with the Tripwise app that I was able to download onto my phone. It provided a wealth of useful information about Korea's people, tourism highlights, internal travel tips, maps, etc. Although I was anticipating that there may be a bit of inert racism after looking through Tripwise (which as an 'intruder' I can easily grin and bear), I was surprised to find just the opposite. People in hotels, shops, underground, tourism spots, etc. could not have been more helpful. Every time I stopped to refer to my street map, I was guaranteed to have at least a couple of locals offer to assist me - even to the extent of going out of their way to walk me to a particular restaurant or shop or whatever (then maybe it was my irresistible charm that won over the locals!). Happily, I did not have to make a claim on TID this time. I will certainly be using their insurance for future trips.

We used your company earlier this year. You were recommended by a family member who had to make a trip home for my dads funeral. Your company covered her. We made a claim and your company also covered us for out of pocket medical expenses.We were promptly dealt with from the initial telephone contact to emails .

Thank you TID

We had taken out travel insurance at the last minute before going on a cruise, not really thinking we would need it and hadn't really looked into the details of the policy. However we did need it! We had to pay a large, unexpected medical bill onboard and were unsure if TID would easily refund us. However TID were very supportive right from the start, the claim was processed reasonably quickly and all ended well. Will definitely use TID for all future trips.

There when we needed

While overseas my daughter was diagnosed with sudden onset Type 1 Diabetes. In a non-english speaking country TID flew myself over to assist with her care. Both myself and her where flew home TID went out of there way to locate English speaking interpreters and covered all associated costs Thanks TID

Amazing customer experience

Good customer service

I haven't had to claim too much but one trip to Hawaii my son got sick and I got quite a high hospital bill so I sent it into TID and they took care of it for me with out any hassles so I will continue to use them when I travel.

TID and my broken leg!

I broke my fibula while running the NYC marathon.... at the time I didn't realise it was broken and finished the race. A visit the next day to a GP and Orthopedic surgeon revealed a badly broken fibula. I contacted TID and they immediately went into action, they were very responsive, were in touch with me regularly and organised everything - airport transfers, upgrades for both myself and my mother and wheel chair transfers at the airports. In short they were great and what might have been a very stressful trip home was much, much easier. Once home, my claims were handled quickly and professionally - all medical expenses including medication and phone calls relating to my claim. I was not out of pocket at all. I would not hesitate to recommend TID - in fact, I have already done so.

I would use TID again.

I have used TID insurance for a few years now. Previously have had one minor claim for having to reschedule flights due to the cruise ship being late - no problems, quick easy and treated fantastically by TID staff. In February this year I travelled to Laos and come home via Cambodia. I had my handbag stolen which had mine and my partners passports and various other personal items. The claiming process -although at times I felt over whelmed but a quick phone call to TID eased my anxiety and they helped me to fill out the paper work. I received just about all that I claimed for. They would not cover my handbag, watch or wallet - as I had no proof they were mine. I was a little disappointed with this decision as I do keep receipts for 12 months then I shred them unless they are needed for warranties. But now I know you must take a photo of all personal items for insurance purposes. I believe all insurance companies would have similar policies. TID staff have always been very friendly, very helpful and I believe their prices are reasonable.
