The TID quote/process was very easy to navigate. The coverage was comprehensive and it was reassuring to know we were travelling with good protection. We got emails before we left about the places we were travelling to which was also very helpful and informative. Highly recommended.
Had to claim on two occasions regarding the same trip. On both occasions the claim was quick and efficient. The second occasion required a phone call from TID. The next day the claim was approved. Fast and effective with no dramas whatsoever
Be very careful to read the PDS (Product Disclosure Statement), and not just the summary, which doesn't tell you all their weasel words.
TID is fine until you claim ... then you have to deal with a complex web site (full of errors) which asks you to provide a stack of paperwork which is likely to be very difficult, time-consuming or expensive to provide.
Then - they don't pay new for old, so the pay out doesn't cover the cost of replacing the items you lost.
Then - they don't pay for items you left behind by mistake.
You wonder why you bothered getting insurance from them in the first place!
Very easy and helpful company to deal with. I love the Tripwise App, you can keep everything together without having to carry hard copies. I've never had a claim, but love that TID follow you up after your trip to check. I've recommended TID to many people, one of whom did need to make claim. TIDs handling and processing of claim without quibbling over details has allowed me to continue to recommend them to fellow travellers.
Hi TID - fabulous service by Mark - I needed to cancel my insurance for August and travel in June. My uncle had passed away suddenly in Germany. Mark at TID took care of it all, sent me the necessary paperwork I had to fill in and all this was done on the Sunday morning and I had to fly out of Australia on the Sunday evening - I would not travel without TID insurance. A little mix up on my latest trip saw my policy "lost" from online viewing but a phone call had that sorted out (reminder that it pays to check everything before you leave).
We have had to claim (lost luggage) and can vouch that TID are responsive and accessible.

We have just come home from a month travelling in the USA. Our trip was incident free, so we have not needed to claim on our TID travel insurance.
However, I would not hesitate to re-insure with TID when we travel again. They covered my pre-existing medical condition for a very modest extra premium. Other companies refused to cover me at all or wanted an extortionate amount of extra premium to do so!
We also appreciated the packing tips before we left and the Welcome Home greeting.
I always use TID for my travel insurance. Their policy covers all the things that matter, for a fair price. The terms and conditions - along with what can and can't be claimed - are always clearly spelled out, allowing for worry-free travel!
I am especially impressed by the usability of their website. It was so easy to use that I was even able to book my insurance on the way to the airport!
I love to see that they are always looking for ways to please customers, and make our lives easier, with the creation of their recent app, and also in their great customer service. The quick list of emergency numbers on the insurance print-out is always a helpful document to take with me when travelling.
I've used TID for all my overseas travel insurance for the last 5 years. Their application process is a simple online process, and I've found is usually the cheapest of all providers available, without scrimping on what they cover. The TID app is also a great added benefit.
This is the first year I've had to claim on the policy and the process was easy to follow and quick to receive re-payment of my costs. Their phone centre staff are also great - I was quite distressed while sick overseas and they were very calm and patient with me, and made sure to follow up to ensure I was ok.
Overall a great company, I highly recommend them, and will continue to use their service in the future.
Never made a claim but it seemed TID is very helpful and easy to reach when I let them know that one of my luggage was missing during our recent holiday and thankfully it was returned to me after a week. Easy to use website with no drama. Happy with the product and since i haven't experienced bad response from them, will rate them 4 out of 5.

I have used TID for the past 3 years and travel overseas at least 4 times per year. On occasion over this time I have needed to make claims and have been delighted at the friendly efficient customer service that TID has provided. The online purchase process is simple and every time I have telephoned for assistance or advise the customer service representative has met all my expectations and in some cases exceeded them. TID is one of the best performing Companies I have ever had the pleasure to do business with and I will continue to support TID in future as they have supported me. I recommend TID.

Recently very ill on holiday & needed to be hospitalised in Cambodia. The hospital made initial contact with TID & from there my communication with TID was 10/10. I was phoned each day by a nurse to check on my progress, & was I happy with what the Dr was doing regards my treatment. To know that I had TID full support was such a great feeling. My claim was approved & the only out of pocket was our excess & this was all done on being discharged. This is my first experience needing to make a claim & I am very happy customer. Thank you!
As I travel to Japan once or twice each year, travel insurance for myself and my family is integral to protect against the unforeseen. I've used TID for some years now. Having just returned from a 2 week stay in Phuket & Koh Samui - I think you'd be crazy not to cover yourself. Our kids picked up a nasty gastro bug a few days into the trip, with our 5 year old daughter needing to spend 24 hours on a drop in hospital.
This could of easily ruined the holiday as bill was almost $1,200, but 2 days later everyone was recovered & we spent the $1,000 spoiling the kids knowing we were only out of pocket the premium
Have used a T.I.D. travel policy three times over last couple of years and always cheaper with very similar cover to that being offered by my high street travel agent. Fortunately, have only had to claim once (car hire issues, it's a long story but I won't ever leave car hire keys in an out-of-hours airport drop box again without time and date stamped photographic evidence) and T.I.D. claims department dealt with my claim speedily and with minimum fuss.
