Richard - ID 5009 turned up to within a few seconds of the expected time given by the app. He got straight to work and identified the problem. Very professional and informative. He did not carry the battery i needed, but he got the vehicle started so i could drive to local garage.

Chris ID 2698 the patrol man that came to my rescue. Was informed of arrival. My battery was totally flat, he quickly got the doors unlocked and engine running. Very professional and knowledgeable and gave advice on what to do next. On the whole a very pleasant experience.

The company wasn't great, they were fantastic. I got a call to say they were on their way and were literally only 5 mins. The mechanic found the fault immediately and got me up and off off to work in about 15 mins. Many thanks.

The Patrol 4318 (Patrick) was honestly amazing, explained clearly what he identified what the issue were. He assisted accordingly, kept me updated on estimated arrival and was extremely polite. Highly recommended.

Worst experience I could ever imagine. Took them 22 hours to recover us when we were just 1.5hours away from home. The only reason we got home 'as quick as we did' is because I refused to put the phone down until they had booked us a taxi to get back home after 18hours. I wrote a complaint while we were broken down and got offered a reduced rate to renew - can't believe they thought I would ever renew. Then I wrote a much longer complaint after the whole saga with 21 questions I wanted answering and they dismissed my complaint without telling me saying it related to the same breakdown so they don't do anything about it. I went to an ombudsman who said they could not help so essentially the RAC got away with diabolical service and communication and it seems there is no way to hold them to account. The most concerning thing was when we interacted with a recovery company and a hire car company as part of the RACs efforts to try and sort us out they also both confirmed that our experience with the RAC was by no means unique. For the first 12 hours we were quite tolerant and maybe naively believed we had just been unlucky but the next 10 hours confirmed this was usual service for the RAC particularly in the Lake District. Do not be fooled into using them!

Scott ID5310 was amazing. He took the time to think things through and could easily have said No to having a go and trying to get my car working as it was a very old car but he didn’t. He persisted and talked it all through with me which I really appreciated. My car is working perfectly now thanks to Scott. Because of his experience it made a big difference. Breaking down is never convenient. But as a young woman it can be quite daunting, having bad experiences in the past having been belittled by my roadside experience. However how different this time was! David (4202) couldn’t have been more helpful and kind from the offset. He got my car safely out of the road and into a car park, diagnosed the problem, recommended the RAC call-out mechanics and gave me a quote. I had decided if it was ok for me to be towed to my garage and he didn’t waste any time hooking my car up to the van and taking me. Whacked the air con up cause it was a hot day and allowed me to charge my phone on the way to the garage as it was dying. When we to the garage he so kindly offered to take my key into reception when he was finished unhooking my car as I had to go back to work. I couldn’t be more grateful. He’s a credit to the RAC and has removed my anxiety of being alone when breaking down. Thank you David ☺️
