Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
Nether Edge Road Post Office, Sheffield S7
I was staying with family in Sheffield and this is their local post office. I had a number of parcels for different companies and was served by Anjali on 2 separate days. Both days I was met with a beaming smile, and polite, courteous and efficient service. The post office was extremely busy yet Anjali showed great patience and was so helpful. What an asset to the post office and the local community! Thanks to Anjali!
I was advised item had been delivered along with copy of signature.
Nowhere to be found not in our 6 neighbours …. How can this be!? No card left…

UPDATE DAY 3
Replacement sent however no signature required… that makes sense get a signature and loose parcel, don’t get a signature and get a delivery.
That’s what I call good business sense…NOT
I visited Acocks green post office as I’m travelling abroad tomorrow! With no hassle or stress, the money conversion was instantly sorted. I’d like to say a massive thank you to Abdul!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ He was probably one of the best customer service experiences I have had. He didn’t make me feel like I was taking up time, didn’t rush me, and informed me on the conversion rates. Was so so helpful! Lovely man, totally made my day! I do love this branch :)
I went to our local post office counter in Selsey this morning at 9 am to post my wife’s renewal form for her driver’s licence.
I went especially early to avoid any waiting queues . After waiting for a lady to come behind the desk to serve me, two people were already in the queue behind me.
I told the lady that I wanted to send the driver’s license request by recorded delivery and that I would need to enter the recorded number to the form before being stuck down. Simple eh?
She informed me that, Royal Mail no longer do recorded delivery letters and haven’t done so for years. I was a bit perplexed by her answer, and said I had sent letters recorded delivery recently elsewhere and her reply was to go to where I had sent them before and send my letter. It’s funny though; the dvla form has it printed that “recorded delivery number “ is to be printed in the blank box? Her reply was that the dvla forms were printed years ago and haven’t kept up with the changes made.
Anyway I managed to get the letter posted, by tracking service £2.80. I must say I do not like going to the post office at the best of times, as I find the staff can be somewhat condescending. On leaving the premises I overheard laughter coming from the counter area, which I presume were the women present there. At least I made someone’s day
I took in a CD to mail to The US. I was served by Owen. I asked to send my package via the cheapest method (I suggested surface mail). He said the cheapest would be £12. I queried this because I knew it should cost less than £10.
At this point Owen stormed off saying I was rude leaving me standing at the counter.
Eventually 2 women appeared to help me and they said my package would cost £8 to send. By this time there were about 8 customers behind me waiting to be served.
So, to sum up, this chap Owen had tried to charge me 50% over the going rate. So he's either incompetent or dishonest. It makes me wonder how many people have been over charged by him.
Lost a signed for delivery containing essential medications needed for family holiday abroad. Would not take responsibility for this mistake and were rude when I verbally complained about the situation. Have lodged a complaint through the central post office system.
I visited the post office at 6 College Rd Alum Rock in Birmingham to collect a parcel. The guy at the counter took my ID and went to look for my parcel. I could see him...he came back without my parcel and said it hadn't arrived. I said I had an email telling me it was there and I had till Saturday to pick it up. He then suggested I was at the wrong place and needed to check my email again. I read out the address. He then decided to scan the QR code I had been waving at him since I arrived and then returned to the back and picked up a parcel right at the front and brought it to me. The 1 star review isn't for the fact he didn't find my parcel on the first go...it's for the fact that there was no apology or remorse for suggesting I had come to the wrong place. An apology and a bit of humility would go a long way. As would following the correct process and checking the QR code before taking off to look for a parcel.
I visited Brighton churchill square post office and just had to say how pleased l was with the service, l saw an older man with glasses l didn't catch his name he helped me sort out my passport application. He was kind and helpful, even took my photo for the application. I have since recommend this particular assistant to a friend who was also having problems sorting his passport and again he came up trumps ! Thank you
