Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
I went to the Pitshanger Lane Post Office and there was only one employee. She was a middle age Indian lady. I went to the counter and told her I have 2 items to collect. I showed her the QR code from the email I have received. She went away and then came back with one package. I said i have received emails that my 2 packages is ready to collect. She then rudely said to me “ you are not listening “ when i was asking more question as to why the other package is missing. I then asked her whether she look through the pile and she again rudely said to me “ are you telling me that I am not doing my job properly “. This is not an acceptable behaviour and I am dissapointed with the service. She keeps saying that she doesn’t know and she is only the middle person, trying to push the responsibility away. She doesn’t understand from a customers perspective that we need to ask more questions as we are expecting a package when we received an email telling us to collect. So we get anxious and want to understand more. However, she was really rude, unprofessional and show no empathy which is unacceptable. I am shocked and frankly speaking, disgusted about how she handled the situation. I am upset about the whole situation.
Fantastic support from 𝐆𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐝 i໐. They were honest, fast, and always available when I had questions. I’m extremely satisfied with their help and service.
Intrusive misuse of trust. Please just do your job efficiently
Normal post is ok. But don't have any high expectations so not disappointed.
Parcels and large packages are a different story.
We were very excited to have Royal Mail appear to be consumer considerate when we received a message advising their restructure and aim to reduce missed deliveries and ensure customer satisfaction. We were asked to provide alternative delivery options for when the postal person couldn't deliver through our letterbox. We enthusiastically responded, advising we have a large wooden box NEXT TO OUR FRONT DOOR for such deliveries.
Evri use the box, Amazon use the box, DPD use the box. Our female postie knocks the door, pushes her face up to our windows (looking into our home) and glances at the wooden box. And then fills in a red card and takes our item away with her.
We have even asked her on more than one occasion to use the wooden box.
Once we received a note saying she couldn't open the box cos it was FROZEN!!!! we had not problem opening it. It's beyond a joke when we have tried to make it as easy as possible to deliver to us, but the postie on our route still fails to do something so simple and easy. And peering through our windows is blatantly rude and intrusive, as well as compromising our privacy!!!
This has happened so many times now, we are fed up entirely of this behaviour and service
Incompetent and indifferent certainly not customer focused. 24hour tracked delivery not worth the money. Item dispatched 24 hour tracked on Thursday not delivered Friday sent to wrong delivery office still there Saturday probably won’t be on its way now until Monday so probably won’t get delivered 6 days after dispatch called customer service but all I got was waffle and apologies but no route to resolve the issue
Typical UK subsidised by taxpayers company!
1st Class Proof of Delivery and Signature Required for an important document sent 30/06/25 at 13.03, going from PL5 to PL6, it is now Friday 4/7/25 at 16.20 and according to tracking, the document has still not arrived!!
The Post Office are not a competent letter delivery service any longer and as such should be shut down as soon as possible!! The government are desperate to save money and yet still throw a 50 million annual subsidy at an incompetent company that are incapable of providing any type of service to its customers!!
There are now other options available to consumers to sent letters, its about time we started using them and get this shambles of a so called business shut down!!
Pathetic website, pathetic company, pathetic lack of service overall and a total waste of my money paying for a service they are incapable of providing and of taxpayers money.
I renew my travel insurance every year and, until the recent Heathrow incident, I had never needed to make a claim. Unfortunately, I discovered that the Post Office works directly with a third-party insurer, which proved extremely difficult to deal with when I tried to file my claim.
The Post Office even routes calls through its own website directly to this third party, absolving itself of any responsibility once your policy has been purchased—whether in a local branch or online. As a result, you cannot even lodge a complaint with the Post Office about your unsatisfactory experience with their chosen partner.
Frankly, it’s astonishing that this is the standard of service in what is meant to be a developed country.
Darlington Post Office is a very professional and customer friendly atmosphere. I submitted my security Industry Authority application there. My visit was made easy by Caroline who put me through seamlessly on how to apply. Her approach was quite helpful and assuring. Caroline a staff at the Royal mail post office in was Darlington ut me through by patiently explaining which documents I had to bring to the office and which ones werent acceptable. In the end due to Cas help I successfully submitted and paid for my sia application without difficulty.
I think Trustpilot should allow giving zero star, which I surely would give this Bank. I have several accounts in UK, most of them are not high street banks, but Post Office Bank is the worst - far worse.
I had two saving accounts with this Bank. I closed one account online. At the moment I closed, all transaction records, statements, everything immediately totally disappeared. They do not have chats and you have to call them. After considerable waiting time, they promised to post them to me. But it took a long time and some statements were missing. I sent a complaint letter. It took them almost two months to reply and said they had done nothing wrong. Today I close all accounts with this Bank. My advice : Read the review before you bank with them. They will never improve and you will get into trouble one way or another.
Visited the branch in Broadmead Bristol ask if I could get £10 in coins, the kiddie at the counter said no unless I have a 'change card', I asked him what this is, the kiddie told me to Google it! Sad response, very unprofessional, unhelpful, and just rude😔
I then said to him, so you're asking people if they have a 'change card' and you don't know what it is? Then he said 'that's what I'm trained to say'.
Okay I then asked if I can make a withdrawal of £10 and get it in change, he told me no unless I have a change card. Remember this is the same 'change card' he has no idea what it is.
I thanked the untrained staff and left as he helped me to decide not to bother purchase my holiday money right after.
I seldom use the Post Office, not sure I will hurry back. Customer service experience was below zero!
