Misleading Billing Estimates and False Claims Be Cautious!
I submitted a self-meter reading to Origin after noticing their estimated bill seemed too high. To my shock, they claimed my actual reading was higher than their estimate trying to convince me I'd be charged more if I updated it. In reality, my reading was 439 kWh LOWER than their inflated estimate.
This is either a serious error or a blatant attempt to overcharge unsuspecting customers. Had I not checked my meter and questioned it, I would’ve overpaid by a significant amount.
What’s worse is the unnecessary stress caused by their misleading communication. They make it sound like they’re doing you a favour when in fact, they’re quietly pocketing extra dollars from customers who don’t verify their usage.
If you're with Origin, check your meter and every bill carefully. This experience has completely eroded my trust in them.
