Marco Pierre white at the Hilton north bridge Edinburgh is possibly the worst eating experience I have ever had , the food was shockingly bad ,the waiting staff were pretty poor to be fair which is something I did not expect to find ! I have seriously had better service and food in McDonald’s , we expected so much more Marco needs to get his house in order

Would’ve had better service at KFC.

Would’ve had better service at KFC. Booked a table for 8pm (20/Feb), arrived to be told table wouldn’t be ready for 20 minutes. Finally got sat down, nobody came over to take our order for a good 15 minutes. Our meals came with 2 complimentary glasses of Prosecco - which we had to ask 2 separate servers for. Ordered a side of onion rings and a side of macaroni cheese - the onion rings came out with the mains, the Mac and cheese we were under the impression would be just a second. 5 minutes passed so we finally asked somebody - who then told us they had sold out, which we complained that why were we never told. We asked for a manager, 10 minutes later a server came over and informed us there wasn’t one on shift but he can send over a supervisor - another 10 minutes passed but still no sign. Not a care in the world for the customer experience.

Terrible service

It looks like I should have checked on here before booking. I was in Sheffield visiting my son at Uni with my wife whose birthday was the next day so I decided to book somewhere nice. Around 24 hours after my initial enquiry, I was told the menu was a fixed 5 course for Valentine's. I was impressed with the price so went with it. For the first 45 minutes when the restaurant was quiet, I felt the service if not slightly over-cooked was pretty good. But once the mains arrived after this we might as well have been invisible. We were going to leave but the coffee did finally arrive but then had to wait far too long to catch someone's attention for the bill. When it did come I then had to go to the desk as no one came to me for 10-15 minutes. I might also add the the dessert was well over cooked. We mentioned this twice but nothing was done about it. Overall a shocking experience but made worse by the over bill with the service charge etc. I will never ever go to any of Marco's restaurants again.

I have never felt the need to write a bad review till now, whether it was wetherspoons or a high end restaurant. The service was awful in the Birmingham restaurant. Firstly lovely atmosphere at bar area had a couple drinks there the staff were great. The meal start with us asking for a glass of red and a glass of rose, 10mins later the red was put down just as I picked up the glass they poped down a bottle of white wine another waiter noticed this and without a word they took the glass out of hand and took them away. 10mins later the returned with the right wine, again they never said sorry about that as mistakes do happen but to not acknowledge is awful customer service. The starter came was nice enough, we thought maybe it was just a rough start. The staff we asked the staff for another drink, 30mins later the mains came, they asked if I wanted any sauce yo which I said yes please. The steak was over done I waited 10mins but then the food was getting cold, there were no staff in sight one finally passed I asked where was my sauce and wine again no apology just a nodd I told them forget the sauce now as I'm on my last couple of chips so it's pointless no acknowledge he just walked away. The head 9f house came over and asked if the meal was nice I told him the food was OK but the service has been awful he knocked 10% off which in Ernest is rubbish because I still paided £160 for a terrible service £16 does not make up for crap service. I would say to anyone thinking of eating here that the nice views don't make up for the terrible service there are 100's of great restaurants in Birmingham (gino's, fiesta del asado) don't waste an evening here.

I was on my way to join a cruise in Southampton and stayed overnight at the Rudloe Arms manor house, near Bath. I wish I had gone to Premier Inn. There was a 'special deal' of a night stay with a la carte dinner and full English breakfast for £150, for two. The menu offered for dinner was either a pie or something vegetarian, but if we wanted to eat a proper meal we had to pay an extra £50. The wine was nothing special except for the price; who expects to pay London prices in Wiltshire. The accommodation was some sort of hostel built in the grounds of the manor house, with ill-fitting windows and a bed so uncomfortable that it felt like a water-bed. Then to top it all the breakfast turned out to be extra payable as well. I wished I had gone to a transport cafe instead. The whole experience was a total rip-off. As a footnote, later that day I joined one of Fred Olsen's ships in Southampton and that evening I enjoyed a fillet steak which knocked the spots off Marco Polo's offering.

Tried the restaurant in Dover

Tried the restaurant in Dover, excellent customer service. We had calamari to start with and then steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We then sheared dessert chocolate mousse, the whole experience was worth the money.

We have no idea as booked for my partners 50th Birthday in December. Booked months in advance then they emailed 2 days before to say all booking cancelled due to a private party. Try booking a restaurant in Edinburgh at Christmas with two days notice. No apology.I was told to email complaints team. Still waiting a reply. Obviously we are not important as customers. Birthday plan ruined. Thanks a million.

Poor quality pub food at premium prices

Ate at Bristol Steakhouse cadbury house. Steaks at £28 consisted of tough chewey steak four small vine tomaroes and some not over special chips any thing extra was charged. A pot of tea for two made just under two cups each no biscuits for £7.20.Drinks grossly overpriced. The menu was nothing special mainly a pub menu except quality poor at outrageous prices. Wetherspoon steaks are far better our lovely local pub does steaks mixed grill with all the extras for ine third the price. What was supposed to be an anniversary treat at somewhere allegedly upmarket turned out to be a grossly expensive mistake how marco white can put his name to these places is baffling as judging by reviews these problems are throughout his restaurants. Never again

Terrible food, terrible service …

We arrived as a party of 12 on Saturday afternoon for a prebooked meal. We were served drinks and ordered our food off the Christmas menu. Everyone enjoyed their starters. Unfortunately four of us had to send our food back including myself. As the rest of the party finished their food, we had to wait a further 40 minutes to have our food. Around this time while we were trying to order drinks a waitress said she couldn’t take our drink orders with no explanation as to why. A party member then went up to the bar to find out what the problem was. It was stated they believed some party members to be intoxicated and decided they weren’t going to serve us anymore alcohol. This most certainly was not the case. It became apparent the manager could not take criticism over the food and I believed it was taken personally. On top of the food being below average, the lager was flat. Serving lager in a bitter glass is not what you expect in this restaurant. In the end the night turned sour unfortunately where people became upset with the events of the afternoon. However the service we received was appalling from the time some of the food was sent back. We would have had far better quality service and food in Wetherspoons

A ruined family Christmas meal.

After being seated at 5pm, we were served within 20 minutes and received our drinks almost half an hour later. our food didn't arrive until 1 hour and 40 minutes. after being greeted we were made aware there was no festive menu due to a delivery issue... but also no pinot grigio wine, no cottage pie and my neice ordered an appletieser which was replaced with an apple juice, but with no question to whether this was okay. on arrival, the food came out dead cold, the orders were wrong on many accounts (3 out of the 9 of us who ordered) so food was sent back for fresh dishes. my steak was filled with gristle and was not pleasant to eat, my partner's was tasteless and has since made her ill. my neice had a burger and although I understand beef can be served pink, the burger literally looked like fresh meat that hadn't been cooked. they didn't bring out our side orders until almost 20 minutes after bringing our mains out. thankfully the manager didn't ask us to pay a penny as we weren't prepared to as is, but considering we had visited before and the food and service was magnificent, it's a shame that I decided to take my family here for our Christmas meal this year. among all these issues were the absolutely atrocious toilet hygiene. every bowl of the women's loos were stinking dirty, the floors and walls were awful and the ladies of the family had nothing but complaints before we even sat down to be served. I would not recommend this place unless you're prepared for mediocre food and service for premium price.

Booked a family meal for friday at 7.30 great location with views over city, friendly staff, sat down to eat only to realise i had booked a front row seat at a concert! If i wanted to shout orders at the waitresses because they cant hear and shout conversations at my family i would have bought along a mega phone. Ridiculous to the point of absurd i dont want to eat a meal while shounting bum bum bum to Sweet Caroline while im digesting my steak thank you very much. When i asked is it normally this loud i was told everyone else is having a good time b#$#$$ is what i say to that. The singer is talented and good but not rite down my ear hole. Shall not be back ill vote with my wallet and spend my money else where. Advise to restaurant, sort it out its not a nite club. And still no reply from this restaurant, avoid.

Visit to The View from the Shard and…

Visit to The View from the Shard and Three Course Champagne Celebration Dining with Sides at Marco Pierre White's London Steakhouse Co for Two. This visit was part of a Virgin Experience Days Voucher I booked to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Make a note that to use the voucher, you must book both experiences separately, and if you live far from London, you might have to do two visits depending on availability. Always check and understand that spaces are all subject to availability. We got to the Steakhouse a little bit early. The hosts at the desk were very welcoming, and they took our jackets then asked us to wait a few minutes for the table. Within minutes we were sat and Martha, our host for the evening, introduced herself and double checked the deal that we had booked. Bubbly was delivered promptly and then she took our food order, which was selected from the deals menu. We ordered Classic Prawn Cocktail A La Russe and Beetroot & Goats Cheese Salad for the wife. Both not worth the price, the prawn cocktail is not the finest, and it was bland, nothing special. The Beetroot was layered all around the plate, had a bit of goats cheese, and a small amount of chopped walnuts. It must be a goldmine selling two beetroots with bits on top at that price!. Onto the main, wife ordered the Braised Boeuf Bourguignon, and I ordered the 8oz Rump. My wife enjoyed her dish, my meat was burnt, I ask for a Medium term and was served a piece of burnt meat. Surely the chef would have shouted in the kitchen if this was being served elsewhere. I wish I could upload a photograph for all to see. Our deal included sides and they were normal. Our dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding, and Martha had asked the kitchen staff to add "Happy Anniversary" around the plates. This was a lovely gesture by her, and was very tasty. This was soon followed by a nice white box that had the apron inside. We ordered a bottle of red wine to go with the meal. Everyone complains that the service is slow, however most restaurants use this tactic to get you ordering more drinks, that's where the real profit is. The service charge is optional, we left it on, as Martha was very good at making us feel welcomed. The additional money spent was about £50.00 pounds, on top of the deal that was already paid for. We got our jackets, thanked the hosts for their service and left. I think that if you are nice to waiting staff, they are likely to take care of you a little bit better. They are pressured by management to sell more, and running on their feet all night is stressful. I would happily return, and order a bigger piece of meat, and if turns out the same, I will ask for it to be changed. I didn't do this, as I wanted to have the main course with my wife.

Dont bother

Dont bother! Food an overpriced disgrace. They messed up my booking with a window view then proceeded to serve my son dry Duck leg with salad cream as a dressing! Not one waiter/waitress asked if everything was ok with our meal. A waste of hard earned money, Marco would be ashamed of the food! There was also stains on the leather chairs opposite! Will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone! 😡

Birmingham Marco Pierre White…

Went to Birmingham Marco Pierre White restaurant as I was given a voucher for my birthday. Absolutely terrible customer service. Was kept waiting for over half an hour after our booking time with no explanation, and then gave us a bill for a meal already paid for!!! Have written several times since visit to ask a manager to contact me, and 4 weeks later have only received a holding response stating someone will be in touch. Not impressed by service or attitude, and the lady on the front desk is very rude.

My daughter and her friends went to the Birmingham restaurant to celebrate an 18th birthday, the staff told them they shouldn’t of worn trainers however the website is not clear about dress code restrictions ; their table was 45 mins late they were not give complementary drinks while they wanted or an apology, they were made to pay a compulsory service charge which was not clear when they booked, the waitress had a body odour issue and they said the food was ok but they certainly won’t be going back again.

MPW Birmingham

MPW Birmingham Great night. Food was amazing. Staff were friendly and our waiter was great. Food was hot and cooked specifically to our liking. My husband and I were celebrating our birthdays and anniversary and were pleasantly surprised how above and beyond our waiter went with the service. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
