Booking was a fiasco .
I called and left a voicemail for a call back .
No one called .
I called the next day and spoke to Claire who took my booking and said she would email me a link to make a card payment to reserve the table .
No email materialised , so I called again the next day and doke to Claire who advised she had left the email to someone else , and as it was not sent my booking was cancelled .
She took my details again , I asked could I just register my card details over the phone .
Claire said no , she'd send me an email . Once I had filled on my card details I would need to call her back to make sure the booking was confirmed .
Which I duly did , my 4th phone call to book a table for lunch !
Then I had an email saying I needed to click on it to confirm my booking , having already been told by Claire that it was confirmed ...
On arrival we were shown to our table and given a menu .
Claire came and said we were on the system as a Wowcher booking .
At no time did we say we were dining with Wowcher ???
She took the menus she had given us and brought the a la carts menus instead .
We ordered the pork escalope .
It arrived with a side of peas that we ordered but no spoon to serve them .
My friends pork was pink , bloody and uncooked .
We called the waitress who to be fair apologised after took it back to the Chef .
We were given a glass of Prosecco each as a courtesy ,nice touch .
Then the waitress came back and said the pork wasn't undercooked , they had served my friend the gammon by mistake !!
There was no gammon on the menu and wouldn't have been served in a batter.
By now I was looking for Basil Fawlty !
After lunch we waited patiently for over half an hour to catch someone's eye for the bill , and a further 25mins by which time we got up and went to the bar to pay .
The restaurant was over half empty so they weren't busy .
Maybe having an'off day '.
I have eaten there before and the food and service have been very good but it has gone dramatically down hill .
