Went yesterday as was gifted the 5 course gourmet menu. Staff were lovely and food was really tasty. Had champagne for extra £5 per glass - bargain. Can't believe the menu should have only been £55 for 2 plus service. Really good value.
Birmingham - The location and views from the restaurant are amazing, there service is okay but the food has not been good on a couple of occasions. I visited most recently on 24/8/23 and the steak was very poor. 2 out of 3 of us had grisly, dry steak. Its a shame because I love the restaurant but at £100 a head for a 3 course meal with wine its totally overpriced! And to top it off when I checked the bill next day I had been charged for 4 bottles of wine instead of 2
Afternoon tea for 4people late Xmas treat , lovely presentation sadly lack of filling in sandwiches ,cakes to sickly , best part the small scone , service ,considering the high standards Mr White expects from his staff ,very lacking .Overall this was a complete waste of money and a let down and will not visit again .
We stayed at marco pierre White's Rudloe Arms Hotel in June and left a Panama hat. We called them as soon as we got home and asked them if they could return it. They were very difficult, told us to send a stamped address envelope and they would send it. They ended up sending it to someone else completely despite us sending a first class self addressed package envelope. The other person kept the hat and after 6 weeks they eventually sent it back to the hotel. The hat had been completely ruined. It had been put in a washing machine and dryer, shrunk and couldnever be worn. This was totally the bad service and fault of the awful reception manager and staff. At one point they offered us a £4 payment for the postage as the hat had been kept by another customer. The staff at Marco Pierre White's are incompetent and rude. We wrote a letter to MPW and he did not even reply. Terrible service, never go again
Went to Marco Pierre in Birmingham on sunday and had a sunday lunch - we thought the food was lovely although our sweet took 20 mins to arrive - however on returning home my partner was violently ill all night and the only thing he had different was a prawn cocktail to start with - very disappointing restaurant furnishing wants scrapping and refurbishing, service was excellent - slow but excellent wont be visiting there again totally put off.. very overpriced - recommend Liverpool one that was excellent!
Attended the restaurant as a result of receiving a Virgin Experience gift voucher. The description was accurate! It certainly was an experience! Very limited menu in comparison to the standard menu. We were charged £5.00 per person extra for a table with a view - the staff pretended the venue was busy although it was 2/3rds empty. The chosen starter consisted of 5 thin slices of beetroot scattered with a few minute cubes of hard boiled egg and what appeared to be a chopped nut of some description. The fish main course arrived breaded and appeared to have been bought from the local supermarket. It was well over-cooked ( and tough) as were the potatoes onto which it was perched. The green side salad was also a disgrace and in common with the rest of the course no attempt to present the meal in an attractive fashion was made. We would have had a dessert but decided not to risk it. We were given complimentary coffees as a result of my complaint. The chairs which are covered in old and tatty leathercloth are cracked and peeling. The general impression is that the chain is in decline and on its last legs. We were very disappointed having booked a hotel for the night expecting an enjoyable evening - AVOID!!
Very poor customer service. Waiter knocked a drink over and they made no attempt to clear it up resulting in someone slipping over. Initially accepted responsibility and apologised. When requested some form of compensation or reimbursement. They have denied it. The customer service don’t deal with the issues and fob you off.
MPW at The Cube Brindley place our 1st wedding anniversary sat 15 july booked our celebration meal wish id not bothered argumentitive waiter when i asked him if the steak is been given was actually a fillet ? as i needed an electric saw to cut it is asked for a medium fillet steak I pulled the steak apart with my fingers !! it resembled a ball of grey string on asking i was told it’s filet ! so i said i’m not happy please can you show the chef meanwhilst husband is picking at his fish cake …. minutes later the rude waiter returns with the same plate and the same steak put it in front of me and said chef said it’s filet ! sooooooo …… I said nope well i can’t eat it sooooo he snatched up the plate and walked off so i sat hungry whilst my husband shared his fish cake with me which was now cold the spinach was soggy and the onion rings dripping in oil restaurant needs re vamping chairs all ripped and filthy tried calling the number noone replys left emails no one replys I believe the hotel has been taken over and believe me it’s shoddy ! never again !
Terrible service at the bar! Asked for prosecco and they gave us flat champagne! Obviously trying to overcharge for something we never asked for! Had to get the general manager to refund and re order again. The bar staff need more training or not to be rude and trying to scam customers.
Food was lovely, service was ok.
I visited the Marco Pierre White Restaurant at Milton Keynes with a colleague. The meal was excellent, the staff were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I had no concerns about the 10% gratuity automatically added although I think it should never be necessary. It is an insult to add it in. However, our service was excellent. But then I managed to ascertain that the staff do not get it all but only some small proportion of it. The rest goes to a third party. That is appalling. It ought to be a criminal offence. Make sure you object to the gratuity being added at the outset. If you want to leave a tip do it personally to the individual who looked after you.
Awful experience. I have never had such bad service in ANY restaurant before. I order a Ribeye steak. When it arrived it was a fillet. I stated that I had actually ordered a ribeye. The waitress immediately returned with her note pad and shoved it in my face saying "see? it says fillet, and I never get it wrong, you ordered fillet" . My friend tried to explain he also heard me order ribeye but she ignored him and said" what am I meant to do with that steak then?" It was only after a long argument she stormed off and placed another correct order for Ribeye. Even if I had made a mistake, which I hadnt, it is no way acceptable to speak to a diner like that, when they want to charge nearly £40 a steak! Absolutely disgusting. You would better service at McDonalds
terrible time at birmingham booked in for wrong date food took over 1 hour and not busy then came tough despite several attemots to speak tp soneone by phone and online no one biothets to get back to you even on here tgey say get in touch what a joke cause no one gets back in touch or answers you
Used our birthday ‘buy a gift’ voucher for Afternoon Tea & it was really delicious. The staff were great and very attentive and catered for my dietary needs. It was tricky to book as you have to email them and that comes back with an impersonal email that says which days they are full. I emailed with a specific date and time and they sorted it though. Worth knowing you can also order off the menu and other people’s starters and pizza looked amazing. Lovely venue & location & they do walk-ins, but not if you have a voucher. Have recently bought the 3 course meal and drinks for a friend & we’d definitely go back.
Afternoon Tea with a Red Leter Voucher on 1st June. From the moment we set foot into the restaurant, our booking wasn't located and we were made to feel like we were lying. The service was awful, apparently due to short staff issues. You can sympathise with that but there was never once an apology for the delay. Not a pleasant experience at all.
My boyfriend and I went to the Marco Pierre at the Cube in Birmingham. Our opinion: 1-Food=4/5 2-Cocktails=5/5 3-Service= -1/5 The staff were not skilful enough in terms of customer services. A bar tender declined to serve drinks at the bar saying: "there are only 2 of us here... Go to the table, someone will serve you there... After 30 mins waiting, no one came to us to take an order... We left to another establishment... Never again! I do not recommend this restaurant at all, the bad attitude from this bar tender could have ruined our night...
Had a wonderful meal here and the customer service was excellent. Surprisingly good portions and friendly people.
I was bought a virgin voucher to use at The London Steakhouse. Booked for the 22.04 early evening. All was good - staff were friendly and helpful. The food was mainly good but my issue is that it is a voucher for a 5 course menu. IN my opinion you would be better consolidating course 1, 2 & 3 and offer a good selection of starters. Avoid the kipper pate tasteless and the texture of mash potato!! I am astounded you are a steak house and yet on the 5 course menu the only way to have a steak is to pay a supplement, rather disappointing. We opted to share the chateaubriand - which was excellent luckily! The atmosphere and service was good but just felt the 5 course was a let down - we were served course 1 & 2 together, one bilini is not a course more like an amuse bouche. To top it off I was then charged for the included pate on course 3 - the table next to me was also questioning their bill, so it might be worth checking very closely your bill, the additional £1 cover charge was also a surprise - and for what to sit in your restaurant, you also add a 12.5% service charge - just be aware of these points when giving this as a gift to someone, they will pay lots more even with the voucher.
I took my daughter for afternoon tea at Mr Marco's Hull restaurant. I cant fault the service it was brilliant. The food on the other hand or lack of it was dire. We got 4 very tiny finger sandwiches, 3 very rich and a bit sickly deserts, 2 small scones and 2 macaroons. Far to many deserts and not enough savoury.
