Writing on behalf of my mother about…poor food service. Not the servers who are great.

Writing on behalf of my mother about the MPWR Plymouth. She informed me that her lunch date was not a good experience. She had a steak and it was cold, as were the fried onion rings. She spoke to the server who did refund her, but that’s not the point. I know that steaks should be rested before serving, but not the rest of the meal. This was not her first meal there that had to be sent back either. It’s becoming a laughing stock on social media here in Plymouth. Perhaps get a senior member of your company to come down and make a review and suggestions on how they can improve.

HUGE Disappointment - Newcastle Upon Tyne (visited in December 2019)

I visited the restaurant in December for a surprise 40th birthday. Although the food was ok overall but I was very disappointed the way they handled my request for a surprise birthday cake after the main course. I've asked if they could arrange the surprise when I made the reservation which they agreed. Quite frankly, it was not a surprise as I had to remind them during the meal without my friend knowing it and the way they brought out the cake was just like a normal dish we ordered. It was like they just wanted to get this out of way. For a restaurant like this and as well as the price they charge, I'd expect them to do better than this. It supposed to be a special moment but they have ruined it and it was a moment that I could never brought back. I would suggest anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion, DO NOT go to this restaurant as they will ruin it.

Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes. We had our meal before the match and we chose the Christmas menu. The waitress was absolutely lovely she made our experience a special one. The food was really nice I had the roast and it was delicious. It’s our second visit pre football and it won’t be our last. I wish I had asked the waitresses name but her partner supported Birmingham fc. The only negative is they add a gratuity automatically so not all of it goes to the waiters so we asked for it to be removed so she got a cash tip.

Avoid

Went for afternoon tea with family. Customer service was awful. There was no attention to detail. My sandwiches came with a hair in them and the bread was wet. When we told the waitress to replace it with fresh sandwiches because of the hair, there was no apology and our sandwiches came when everyone else’s was finished with there food. The tea wasn’t served quick enough so we had to wait a while. Also we was given tea which was mixed with coffee. We also had a few dietary requirements which we told the restaurant in advance but when we got our food, they were not met so we had to order extra and was charged for it. I’m so disgusted and disappointed in this level of service. I would have rather spent the time down my local pub even that’s way better than Marco Pierre white!!! We weren’t compensated, there was no apology, overall we just felt tired of the service rather than just enjoying our time there. Train your staff !

Disaster

Disaster. Went for my birthday and food was disgraceful. Peppercorn sauce was so bad it was embarrassing. Steak was not cooked to what I asked yet requested and didn't even give me my side. The name on door wants to be ashamed. Newcastle branch! What a shame. I'll be sharing my experience with everyone. Worst restaurant I've too. Edit: service was just dam right arrogant and cocky 'well at least wine was ok' yes it was cant deny it, poor employee's, having to support food and mangers like this. This certainly isn't the end of it for me I'll be sharing my experiences.

Having booked my daughter's graduation…

Having booked my daughter's graduation lunch on 26th July at Marco Pierre White's restaurant in Birmingham, the experience we received from the minute we arrived until we left was exceptional. Excellent food, attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will certainly be visiting again. Thank you for making what was a very special day into an exceptional day for our family.

Long waits to be served and no…

Long waits to be served and no apologies given . My husband and I waited 35 minutes after being seated before I got up and got a waiter to come and take our order. We also had to wait between starters and main up to nearly 40 mins again having to remind the staff we were there. I have also written a complaint and emailed this to the management as there was no one there to deal with our issues on the night and still no reply ! Food was average at best, customer service very below average and over priced for what you get . The only thing nice I would say is the view and setting in the resturant was lovely.

Poor Service and Lack of Customer Service

The issue that I have experienced was: Firstly we ordered Seasonal vegetables as a side dish and asked what vegetables it came with. The waitress said we only have broccoli. My wife said to her what for for £5.25 and she replied oh sorry we only have broccoli. Me, ‘are you seriously telling me the only vegetable you have on offer is broccoli’ waitress ‘yes’ if you ordered the broccoli incidentally you only received a maximum of 5 florets. Not the best start. There was then a 39 minute delay between finishing our starter and receiving our main course and no apologies given. Main course finally arriving not offered any condiments had to get up and go find them, the condiments that is. I ordered a blue steak and it came up medium rare. Waitress spilling more water over the table than there is in my bath. Waitress and barman arguing in open forum in a different language. Despite delay between starter and main course it took them about 1.5 minutes to get me the bill. Waiter asked me when paying if everything was ok and despite me explaining NO and what I felt was wrong he offered nothing in terms of compensation. He just said thank you sir it’s always good to get feedback. It occurred on: 29/03/2019 This meant that What should have been a been a nice meal, we were given vouchers as a Christmas present) left a bad taste in the mouth. I have since taken this up with the restaurant direct and all they have said is, ‘I should have sent the steak back’ (having waited 39 minutes for it to arrive I didn’t have the time to wait any longer). Oh and if we’d like to visit again we can have a complimentary glass of bubbly. No Thanks. One to avoid.

Purchased a Wowcher for afternoon tea…

Purchased a Wowcher for afternoon tea .However was unable to book online as was a premium rate number.So I drove to Holiday Inn in city centre Milton Keynes as this is the lovely venue Marco Pierre White location.Excellent customer service via reception at Holiday Inn On Easter Sunday and also the young lady waitress and the young man who served on our table .Spotless clean and really comfortable.I forgot to order vegetarian food however this was quickly changed for us and no problems.Yes I will go back as staff lovely and welcoming It’s only been opened since Nov last year .Food good selection of sandwiches and delicious cakes .easy to park outside so an enjoyable treat .thank you for making our afternoon special and wish you Marco’s Pierre White every success your staff are a credit to you too

Been to MPW Restaurants four times

Been to MPW Restaurants four times, Hull and Chelsea. Great food, I think the theme now is simple food cooked very well and it is. The prices are very good value too for the set menu. Friendly staff, me and my son will definitely going back.

Lincoln Restaurant

Three of us visited the Lincoln Restaurant for Sunday lunch using a MPW voucher given as a Christmas present. The restaurant was not overly busy and the table was available on our arrival. Our waiters Ollie and Kate were very polite and attentive throughout. Starters were salmon, prawn cocktail and scotch egg and all were excellent. We all selected fillet steak as a main and each was cooked to the requested 'doneness' and to an exceptional standard. None of us had room for a dessert, even though the choice looked appetising. Drinks were reasonably priced for the standard of restaurant and the only criticisms we can offer are that the olives were a little expensive, given that they were not pitted and that the length of the under tablecloth tended to make exit from the (circular) table a little awkward. Overall, very highly recommended, at least at this location.

Table with a View and Magnificent Food

Booked a table for dinner for two with a window view in the Birmingham Marco Pierre White restaurant on the 25th floor of The Cube. The view at night is stunning with the city lights spread out below in all directions. We waited a little while before having our order taken and from then on everything flowed smoothly. The staff were most helpful and the food was excellent - very high quality and just the right amount. We will definitely return. Many thanks to all who made the evening special.

After herring good reviews I decided to…

After herring good reviews I decided to take my partner for a suprise meal. The restaurant was not that busy which surprised me. On arrive the booking system was not working but they seated us. 20 mins after being seated they took our drinks order. There was a long wait between courses . The toilets were full of sick which I had to report to staff. The food and quality of service was not worth the money spent . Very poor service and quality

Beyond poor

Terrible service - the worst Appalling food - the worst I've ever seen in a restaurant or even a takeaway You'd be sick if you could see the photos. I emailed MPW Restaurants with photos and they didn't deem to respond. Reprehensible.

Visited the Lincoln restaurant, the food was delicious and the restaurant was buzzing with a lively atmosphere. The best part of the evening was our server, Chloe, friendly, helpful and professional. She really made the evening that little bit more special

We (group of four) visited the…

We (group of four) visited the Birmingham restaurant today with high expectations. That was soon to be crushed. We were shown to our table, where I found a discarded knife under my chair. The starters was brought out and the waiter didn't even know what my meal was called (Welsh rarebit). The wife ordered soup (that came without bread), and after waiting 5 minutes for a spoon our friend got up and fetched one himself for her. Then out came the mains Well three of them at least. The wife waited at least ten minutes before finally getting someone's attention. The rest of us had almost finished our mains as she finally got hers. Then after we ordered desserts someone finally lit the candle in the middle of the table. Then the bill. They got that wrong and added 10% service charge. The food was nice but not great as rightfully expected.

visited the Cardiff restaurant for the…

visited the Cardiff restaurant for the first time yesterday. the venue was lovely but unfortunately that is where it ends. the food and service was disappointing. i ordered beef which was dry, the dessert was so poor that they replaced it, unfortunately the alternative was no better. the service was also poor as they started to clear the table before some of us had even finished eating. we did complain and got cheese and biscuits and a bottle of wine, which made me give it 2 stars but i am afraid that i will not return again.
