As my wife and I had not dined out for some considerable time because of the present climate we decided to take advantage of 'Eat out and help out' so we booked a table at Marco's Kegworth restaurant, we are no strangers to Marco's but this was the first time at Kegworth, we arrived slightly early for our booking and were shown to our table, I can now only say what we experienced, a pint of lager and a glass of wine (£13) olives and almonds absolute rubbish (nearly £8) Calamari, bland, salt mill on the table empty, two steaks arrived with vine tomatoes on the top, the steaks were cooked identically, when one was supposed to be medium and one medium rare, a portion of chips (£3.95) and a rocket and parmesan salad (£3.95) as side dishes, well if there was 50 pence worth of food in the two dishes it would be an exaggeration,
ordered two sweets which came promptly, but again nothing to write home about.
All in all the place looked and felt tired, the staff were pretty good however one waiter was wearing a face mask but only covering his mouth and thought what was the point of that, we then proceeded to ask for the bill which was £74.97 with £20 deducted, all in all I've spent £55 better, not the Marco's we're used to and will not bother with the Kegworth branch again, probably time for the man himself to visit as I'm sure he would have some serious comments to make, after all it's his name above the door.
Finally I don't think I'm being too critical but really not worth bothering with even with £20 off the bill.
