Michaels Stores has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

I am disabled and needed to know where an item was. First of all cashier had never heard of a hook latch rug kit so she called on the radio. I believe she knew which isle. Then customer walked up and I was ignored. I walked all around and seen another employee and asked the same question. She also had no idea nor did she even try to find out. Horrible customer service. I am now not feeling well after trying to find what I needed.
I had an account on Michael’s for a long time I go do a purchase and they delete my account and forced me to subscribe again. They should do better
What went right? Nothing!!! Ordered online for delivery. Several of the flowers delivered were wrong color. Store near me said they had my color in stock. Go there. No inventory. Placed order same flowers for pickup at another location. Get text that order is ready. Get there and they tell me they don’t have it and they would substitute with different flower. No thank you. Wasted trip. Ordered different flowers at different locale. Pick them up and of course not what I ordered. So I guess they don’t update their inventory. Needed these flowers for party centerpieces. Don’t have time for this bs. I’ll go to Hobby Lobby.
Michaels is amazing! My number one craft store. The're always having sale. Big sales, coupon, and points add up great. I Always save so much money. I crochet so I buy yarn there all the time. Always great customer service
Kafka and Michael’s: Two months ago we paid for a couple gorgeous framing jobs at Riverhead Michael’s. Over the years we have been very satisfied customers entrusting our counted cross stitch pieces with them and have charged thousands of dollars to our credit card without problem. This time we were encouraged to take out the Michael’s own store credit card to save lots of money! So we did. Well next thing I know I get notice that my credit rating took a hit. Beverley told me the payment probably was late a couple days. Our solution was to immediately call the credit card company and pay off the balance and close the account. The agent told me at the conclusion of the call, “ The account is closed and the balance is zero.” Now I get notice of another cut in my credit score and Bev opens up a letter stating that there is an outstanding balance of $2.62 on our Closed Account! We call and first get disconnected after 10 minutes presenting our case. A second call gets us to a “Supervisor” who tells us that the account was closed and that the $2.62 was added interest. She would not write it off and furthermore stated she could not credit/adjust the balance because the account had been closed. I gave in and said, “I will pay off the $2.62 now with debit card.” She assured me that there would not be another balance due next month. BUT THEN she told me I needed to pay her $4.62, not just the $2.62, because there was now an additional charge of $2.00 to CLOSE the account! I told her this was absurd as the account was already closed. She insisted that she was just following their guidelines! Having had credit cards for about half a century, I have never encountered this five and dime rip off $2.00 fee to close a closed account. I refused to pay it and have complained to Michael’s Customer Service. Michael’s store credit card is not at all customer friendly with their absurd unethical hidden fees One week later corporate from the credit card company for Michael’s called and apologized for their rep’s error. I was told there is never a charge to close an account! I am waiting for a return call re: my credit rating suffering and their addition $2.80 approx interest added AFTER I was told account was closed and balance was “zero”. I have left my complaint active with the State of New York about the credit card predatory actions. Also I received a very supportive call from Michael’s apologizing for the experience and they sent me a generous coupon of $45.
No customer service available. Paid for the in store framimg TWICE and nothing was repaired A TOTAL BOTCHED JOB
I am not now nor have I ever been a customer at this company and yet they keep spamming me with suspicious emails including what appears to be receipts. I am also blocked from accessing their site so I can't even tell them to f off directly.
Customer service at the Pembroke Ontario is absolutely terrible. Use Amazon, don’t waste your time in store.
Their rewards program doesn't ever seem to give me any perks. Coupons are mostly only for online and I don't shop that way. I stopped putting my phone number when I check out because it saved me nothing. I'd much rather go to hobby lobby or Joanns.
Heritage Green Stoney Creek . I like this store and have been shopping there for years . In fact I have been shopping Michael’s stores for more than 10 years . Today I found out they actually have a seniors discount . 10% and that really helps when knitting a large item like a blanket . Thank you Michelle , such excellent customer service skills and a credit to this store
I love Michael’s. The employees were great, but I wish they had more adult ceramics to paint. And more stuff to paint for adults. How about getting I don’t know fantasy ceramics that we can paint for adults I would love if they were more stuff that they would carry things to paint for adults
I went to the Michael to get a frame for my daughter’s birthday present. One of the staff member Alyson was very kind and polite. She has a very good communication skills with the customer and her suggestion was very helpful. She is ASSET to your company. Also store was well organized has many creative products that I have been experienced. I would like to go back to Michael again.
Went to have 5 posters framed First 2 went well 80% off clearance Prices were around $150 a piece after discount fir a 30”x30” frame. Other 3 pieces were not on sale and quoted $294 each. Sales person told us to wait a week for 70% off sale and they would be around $110 each. Well went today and they said the discount was already applied. It was a complete bait and switch. They said list price was over $800 which is ridiculous for just frame and glass. Got manager involved and she was no help. I took back other 2 prints from last week and will never go on that store again! Stay away bait and switch proof below!
I recently popped into Michaels on North Queen (near Sherway Gardens) to get some custom framing done. I would like to recommend Steve and Marika on their outstanding service. Steve does the framing, his work is excellent. He is very professional to work with and his manner is super kind and Fun. Marika assisted me is selecting my Frame, Matt Boards and fillets - I would highly recommend Marika for her keen sense of style and design. Excellent service all round - 10/10.
I had a very valuable antique picture framed by Abiti. She was very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Her suggestions with matting and placement greatly improved the picture. A real professional. She went above and beyond suggesting upgraded hangers at no additional cost. Very pleased. If it was possible, I'd give her 6 stars Joseph
I actually first found out about them randomly on instagram. I never paid attention to these things but I was on a binge watching hobbies and crafts videos, their instagram really inspired me into making some crafty stuff during my free time, and i must have literally manifested it in my mind because my friends picked up on it and i started getting gifts from their store. some of my friends were shipping me and bringing me DIY stuff and souvenir like knick-knacks from their travels and stuff. Well, pottering around the house has never been my case but thanks to Michaels you can kinda get addicted to knitting, painting, or creating some decorative stuff for your house. And it is a very fun activity as a whole family to go through as well! Their stores are also great, had a chance to visit one, and it lead me to a situation where I turned my garage into a family hobby workshop :)
Online inventory is always inaccurate. I've placed two orders within two days and both were canceled due to items being out of stock in the store. Also, I placed an online purchase with the Michael's store in Orland Park, Illinois, after 3 hours, I still had not received an email to pick up my items. I called and spoke with the manager, Crystal, who still took her time getting the order together. Then to find out, they were out of stock. Michael's customer service and in-store experiences have been consistently terrible over the past few months. Although I visited Michael's in Downers Grove, Illinois this morning and the store rep was absolutely wonderful.
Angela at the Westminster store at Walnut Creek was rude and belligerent today. She told my husband false information about a return. She wouldn’t listen and would rather lie than admit she made a mistake. She has cost the company a loyal customer.
Directed to aisle I wanted and also picked up online order.
