This Company is ripping the elderly please do not use them. They have been harassing us since March this year to pay 1,939 00 dollars for a "rejuvenation" of our aircon which was broken down. The "technician " was here for 10 minutes he did not do anything other than look at the outdoor unit. he then said he would have to send another "technician" Another person arrived , decided to hose down the small filter ,after i insisted that I could do it, he then took a visual look at our unit, said it cant be fixed and that would cost 22,000 dollars. I said we could not afford that.He then said his call out fee would be 1,000 dollars. !!! i said i would NOT be paying anything over the call out fee, as he had NOT done any work.I was very distressed and told him to leave. I then received an account for 1,939 dollars, and threatened our credit rating.Metropolitan plumbing has been on A CURRENT AFFAIR numerous times. They still get away with this. There needs to be a class action against this company . Which I will pursue. This was in March , they are still harassing us in November.

I rang Metro Plumbing to have a new gas top stove certified and re connected. They arrived within the hour as promised then proceeded to obtain a quote outside in the car. The quote arrived by email before the tradesman came back inside. The quote was $1549 to install one hose lead, a regulator and certificate of compliance. Ridiculous amount to pay. Total cost for another plumber $330. (no call out fee) Should have smelt a problem when the phone operator waived the call out fee. Do not use totally overprice and unsure of work quality.

Long story short I called these guys wanting an aircon tech to come out and look at a fault with my unit. They told me they would send someone out who should be able to inspect, give me a quote and if possible do the repairs at the time. I agreed and paid a call out fee of $140. The guy who came out was clearly not an aircon tech as he wasn't able to do any repairs himself. Instead he spent a few mins looking and then quoted me for an "aircon rejuvination" at $1200 for the unit. The rejuvination wasn't a repair but basically a very expensive clean which "should" resolve the issue (and if not they would charge me for whatever was needed to fix it). I felt that this was too much and declined the quote even though he put the pressure on when I called out the cost. He said the reason it was so expensive is because they were quick to get the job done and worked around the clock. Well I looked into it further and found out that this was pretty much a scam and people were being charged for this service that usually didn't fix the issue and were then getting charged more to fix the issue. After checking with my local FB group I found a local tech who was able to assist me over the phone to identify the fault code and he told me how to fix it. I ended up fixing it myself in about 10 mins (it was dirty filters). If the guy who had come out today had actually been qualified he would have done the same checks and found the problem. So pissed that I paid this call out fee to this dodgy company. Do not use these guys!
