Fantastic workmanship & expertise

I reached out to metropolitan plumbers on behalf of my mum, who due to memory issues couldn't organise it herself. She had a shower head & hose that was damaged & needed replacement. I paid almost $150 for someone to come give a quote, and they quoted $1200, stating $700 was labour & $500 was materials. I tried asking questions & I just couldn't figure out where this large price was from. I realised a friend's family member was a plumber, and asked their opinion & they said that was suspicious if there was no pipe damage. I had another friend get a recommended plumber from their family that lived in the same suburb. The new plumber did the job for $200 including materials. I don't know which plumber this was, but I think he saw an older disabled woman, with a not physically present son paying the bill & saw dollar signs. I also never had the quote emailed to me (as I was told it would be), which feels like he knew a paper trail wouldn't be good for this quote.

This company charges a flat fee call out to quote which seems cheap, but then they will provide you with the most extreme, disproportionate quote. Your options are to forgo the fee and go elsewhere, or pay the exorbitant amount. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Google the recent A Current Affair articles and see for yourself.

They were impressively quick in diagnosing the issue and proposing pipe relining as a solution. The process was smooth and cost-effective. They provided a detailed quote upfront. Great experience overall with their professionalism ans reasonable pricing.

In this day and age that companies like this exist - it's basic fraud... a call out fee for jobs where most people won't pay the price of a rip-off quote at about 10 x the normal price. Fair Trading where are you?

Alex was an excellent plumber. He restored my faith in plumbers. After being taken advantage of by my previous plumber, he assured me that not only could he do the job, but I would be smiling in the end. I was very skeptical and did not believe him. After some convincing, and assure me he was not just trying to get money from me, I relented. I could not be more pleased with the job he did. He was friendly and professional. It was a pleasure doing business with your company. I would not hesitate to refer Metropolitan Plumbing friend and family.
