This company came out and charged a call out fee. Tech told me the unit was fixable and to have a second person come out to fix the unit for a further $1000 only to be told now at a total of $1300 tha... See more

They replaced 2 bathroom faucets, a kitchen faucet, and toilet parts. I will not hesitate to call Metropolitan Plumbing in the future.
Disgusting company. They have ripped off a number of people and continue to do so until they are shut down. I do not encourage anyone to use them. Do not pay attention to the 'good' reviews. They were on ACA for a reason. Ripping off elderly people too. Just absolutely awful. We work at a real estate agency and have had 4 separate experiences that Metropolitan Plumbing have charged an exorbitant amount for minor issues. The most recent one is the $1,150 to simply plunge a toilet for a renter. It was after hours, however, the price is still well above a standard after hours call out.
Super friendly and professional. Couldn’t ask for more. Will highly recommend.
I had used Metropolitan Plumbing's many times for more than 10 years and always have been extremely satisfied with their service. We had a leaking water line that is connected to our water heater and they were promptly here in less than a half hour. Luckily it wasn't anything major but they finished in no time. Prices are reasonable. Will continue to use their services and highly recommend them.
Disgusting amature company from the call centre to the technician all the way to the customer service manager at the head. Whatever you do don’t use these cowboys they are unprofessional and rip off merchants!!!
Sp was fantastic and cleared the drains quickly. Grateful for their service and will use again
Alex was very professional and very knowledgeable and helpful!
I rang Metropolitan plumbing when a hose failed under our bathroom sink cold tap. They charged me to book the plumber $142, which I thought was fair. A plumber arrived later and gave a quote of $949 to replace the hose of the hot and cold water tap. I thought this was ludicrous and told the plumber that we would not be progressing with the job. On his way out the door, the plumber said "Enjoy your shower in the morning". Don't make the mistake I did and read the individual reviews of these predators. This morning, a company with greater integrity installed new hoses, installed isolation taps (so we don't have to cut of mains water), checked the hoses under the kitchen sink and changed a washer on an outside tap- all for under $300.
Worst experience ever, these guys are on A current Affairs for rippling people off, and they just continue onwards. They promised a high end system, and delivered and installed the cheapest, scam artists, over charging and sending dodgy invoices and lying in the quotes. They are preying on vulnerable people, and over charging them. And promising to install high end system but then putting the cheapest systems in. Shame on this company, Do not use. Ripped of $5000 dollars
Very thorough examination of our problem, prompt estimate with options. Very personable and professional fellows!
after a few letdowns hiring other plumbers they successfully fixed a blockage great business
Drains unclogged smoothly. Top-notch service.
Came out shortly after I gave them a call. The technician was polite, seemed very professional and was easy to communicate with. The problem was gone after 20 minutes. Totally recommend and will use again.
Amazing service by amazing people. Fantastic experience and no more leak problems
The only reason I give Metropolitan a 1 star rating is because I can't give 0 stars. I called Metropolitan out to service our aircon and identify a fault. The guy came out, cleaned the aircon and then ran some tests. The cost - just over $2,000! Based on my later research, an honest company would have charged no more than $500 to $750 tops! So, yes, I'm a mug for not checking them out, but that doesn't change the fact that they ripped me off. After servicing the aircon, the technician announced that the aircon was stuffed and would need to be replaced - which would cost us $25,000! By this stage I was smelling a rat and I said no thanks. When I had another company come out and I told them the story they groaned and said "Let me guess who that was..." They quoted $10,000 max to replace the aircon. Avoid this company like the plague, they're crooks. Don't believe me? Check out the reviews on Reddit and other sites and watch their multiple appearances on A Current Affair (you can watch them on YouTube). Also, be warned there are dozens of companies owned by the same guy who runs Metropolitan Plumbing. Google it and you can get a list. Obviously, stay away from these companies too. Metropolitan are (or were) involved with Jim's Plumbing, so avoid old mate Jimbo too if he thinks this sort of business is OK. This is a terrible company. If I'd done my homework, I would have saved myself a lot of cash and a lot of regret. I'm posting this review to help save you from getting ripped off. I hardly ever write reviews, but I wrote this to warn you and other people. Don't be surprised if you see this review on other sites because I plan on spreading my story far and wide. A final point: One thing you may notice on review sites is a mix of 5 star reviews for Metropolitan Plumbing with short, enthusiastic comments and lots of 1 star reviews with detailed comments telling you why you should stay away. Does it seem odd to you that there's such a difference? Could it be that Metropolitan are paying for 5 star reviews? I don't know. What do you think?
Great! Job by J.P. Will use in the future
Absolute scam artists! Was told my ducted heating needed a “major” service. A guy spent 10 mins in the roof with a tiny blower, nearly 1,400 dollars later and my heater still isn’t working.
Hi unfortunately Metropolitan Plumbing and Electrical have been on A Current Affair multiple times and under investigation by the authorities, known for charging 10x reasonable cost (do a Google search to find out more). I unfortunately didn’t know this when charged $4200 for a failed safety switch replacement with a range of practices I have reported to the ACCC for investigation as likely misleading, coercive and unconscionable practice. If this has been your experience it is important to report them. There are 3 simple actions you can take (the below applies to SA but you can do similar in any state - noting they operate over 200 business names and buy up the top Google ads with MrEmergency one of many of their other names). 1) lodge a complaint through a simple online form to your state’s Business and Consumer services 2) Report a complaint also through a simple online form to the ACCC 3) Write by email to your most vocal member of Parliament - for South Australians I suggest in particular SA independent Member of Parliament Frank Pangallo who had a long career as a journalist including hosting the current affairs program Today Tonight Also consider letting A Current Affairs or other media outlet know of your similar experience to what they have reported for any follow up media attention of these practices. Google is your friend to find links to all of the above as Trustpilot doesn’t allow links. It is important for our voices to be heard and the more people lodging complaints will increase the likelihood of action and this company continuing price gouging hard working Australians. Although price gouging isn’t illegal in Australia if it is so excessive such as 10x action may be able to be taken. More importantly it is illegal to mislead, deceive or undertake coercive or unconscionable behaviour. So if they used words such as your home won’t be legally compliant if you don’t agree for them to undertake the work or one of their higher alternative quotes, or if they pressured you in some other way to proceed then this can be reportable and could possible have criminal consequences depending on your individual facts. So please don’t stay silent and take the time to report to the authorities. There is one individual owner making an obscene profit off the backs of hard working honest Australians.
Alex was a lifesaver! Greatly appreciate your help and will definitely use your service again if we need it!
