Metropolitan advised me works around the house would take multiple days and cost me upwards of $5k. However, were completed within a day absolute rip-off. I wish I’d watch the A Current Affair episode 23/09/23 on their shoddy and expensive work before I’d engaged them.

SCAMM ALERT!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY I was charged $141 for them to attend my property to inspect a leak. Quoted me $1,849 to find the leak. They then claimed the leak was somewhere near the front entry area and quoted another $3,049 for addition work. I then hired another plumber, who found the leak in completely different location. I contacted them for a refund, and they only offered me $141. I took it thinking it was better than nothing. The service was completely misleading and overpriced. They are just running a money grab scheme. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! Do your due diligence before signing up with these guys. I regret not doing my research on them and learned a very expensive lesson. Learn from my mistake.

This company is praying on people in need, especially older people and women. Had to pay for a quote $140. Quote was $1250 for fixing a gas ducted heating. We were asked to pay in advance $75. The person to do the work was from Mr Emergency. He patched up, told us not to bother fixing it properly, as it will be costly. ABN 89152593630 trade under 45 different names! Hard sales, high pressure tactics, theatrics, poor workmanship.

This company came out and charged a call out fee. Tech told me the unit was fixable and to have a second person come out to fix the unit for a further $1000 only to be told now at a total of $1300 that it needs to be replaced in full. No service was completed and was a total waste of time and money. Calling customer care to be kept on hold for 15 minutes at a time only to be hung up on as no one's available to speak to. Heath in customer service was disgusting to deal with, offered no assistance and ended the call with 'ta-ta' and hung up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Charged $141 call out fee, came and looked then said we needed a service and they would investigate the problem for $2500. I asked if the problem would be fixed and they said no that was just for the investigation and service. Got a friend to go into the roof, they pressed the reset and it was fixed. Thanks for trying to rip off people. Never again will I call your company, should be ashamed.

Plumber was quick but Upside down plumbing call centre (based in Adelaide for Perth customers) is to be avoided. They offered me a booking between 5 and 8am so I could leave for work by 8. The plumber arrived on the dot of 8 saying he never starts before 8. What a ridiculous system to have me waiting from 5am for somebody who is going to come 3 hours later! Also $141.90 is steep for changing a washer on a dripping tap in under 10 minutes.

$9k for a $3k job, too late to stop the job, as we had signed the dotted line, water heater replacement when it was just a leaky valve. The staff were nice and apologetic, but obviously told to sell it at the high price. Until we told friends what it cost we had two plumber friends who said it should not have cost that much. There goes our holiday sadly. Whilst I called a company called Mr Emergency for a roof leak Metro Plumbing and Gas van arrived that should have been the first hint that I was not getting a reliable/trustworthy tradie, the guy was pleasant enough and I don’t blame him he is obviously told what needs to be done or not done in my case I was told they would arrive between 7am and 11 am He arrived at 14:25 Long story short he quoted $890 to investigate the roof leak and then he could evaluate the repair needed So I’ve paid $144 call out fee now wants $890 and still the problem wouldn’t be fixed. Needless to say I didn’t use them. The next day I managed to get a reputable roof fixer who didn’t charge call out fee or investigative fee and has booked me in to repair How do these guys sleep at night So beware Mr Emergency is Metro just in sheep’s clothing and possibly other names in Perth.

Scam! Can only think it must be to target the vulnerable who don't know or feel pressured. Advance payment of $140 for them to attend and quote! Quoted $2,139.00 (!!) for dishwasher plumb only as requested. Already had new dishwasher and electrical socket. I scoffed out loud and when I advised I did not have $2K, Metropolitan guy kept repeating that they provide finance options (HUMM & ZIP). Clearly that is how they scam/trap the vulnerable into disgusting overcharges. The FOUR other quotes I've also had are between $275 & $585. They are completely off the scale and a rip-off. Do not use. There are many other options out there. Make sure you shop around and get multiple quotes. Most don't even do a call out charge to quote! So don't fall for their scam.

I requested a quote for replacing two leaking outdoor taps (with a non-refundable call out fee of $141.90) and was quoted $1,839 for the job - that’s nearly $900 per tap. This included a vague compliance fee and 'standard testing', with no indication of any major complications. I sought a second opinion and received a quote for $220 total from a licensed plumber for the same job. A difference this large feels exploitative. I do not recommend this company based on my experience. Be sure to get multiple quotes, this one came across as an outright rip-off.

BEWARE Metropolitan/Cyber Plumbing charged my elderly father, who suffers from dementia, over $6,000 for basic work that was later re-quoted at just $280. The labour alone was billed at $4,600 for less than a day’s work. They then quoted him $36,000 for additional repairs that were unnecessary. A second opinion quoted the same job (if needed) at $12,000 — and in the end, it was resolved for just $200. When we raised a formal complaint, we were offered only a $250 rebate. Do your research. This company has numerous complaints against them and a pattern of questionable practices — especially when dealing with vulnerable people.

Installed a hot water system, which broke down 4 weeks later. I had to get another service technician to fix. Also grossly overcharged. Never again, beware!!!

Absolutely do not use these people, they are scammers. They ripped my mum off on a job (at least double the price, over $2,000) and quoted her $5,000 to replace a stove, after disconnecting her old one and telling her it was faulty (new stove). I just paid it and put it down to a lesson learned for my mum. Then, SIX MONTHS LATER, they invoiced me another invoice for a "callout fee" of $141. Absolute rip off merchants of the highest order, use at your own risk.

I called Metropolitan Plumbing to check our hot water system, and they told me the entire system was beyond repair, estimating a $10k-$15k fix. They insisted they were experts and knew exactly what was wrong. However, after they left, we checked the unit ourselves and, to our surprise, had hot water! The whole experience was a waste of time and money. I regret paying the $140 call-out fee and wish I had read the reviews beforehand.

I should have googled them before I wasted my time to get them in for a quote. Evidently, they were under investigation on current affair a couple of years back for ripping off customers. The guy who came to quote was nice enough but using the company's quoting system quoted $2500 to fix a small leak in a plastic pipe in the roof, which would take me 5 minutes to fix with the right tools. I had a similar leak repaired in the same pipe by another company previously and they charged $125. Waste of time.

Rip off business, 5 star all paid fake reviews, check out advertiser newspaper march 2025 and consumer business services that accc referred me to in adelaide. Cbs has a warning about them!! Charged 10x cost and didn't do the job -still had thick cobwebs after cleaning and service, sump full of dirt in evap cooler and fans still caked in dirt. Did not fix my air conditioner after they told me they did!! I will take them to court just because I can and feel that they take advantage of people that can't afford to lawyer up!

Paid $141 call out fee at 3am. 7 hours later technician arrived and from his van ( did not come into the house) quoted $1149 for one hours investigation. Total rip off of people in emergency situations. DO NOT PAY THEM.

We had a broken aircon called them to have a look at what’s wrong. The guy said he couldn’t find specifically what was wrong and the whole ducted aircon was stuffed and will need fixing he quoted us $31,089. Had my dad come up a week later and had a look found it was a $30 capacitor that had blown. If we had listened to them we would’ve paid $31,000+ more.. that wasn’t even needed. He also left all the screws un done and had bended/levered the metal up to access the ducted aircon system with his screwdriver Please don’t use this company!

Paid the call out fee and the plumber that came out quoted me $1900 to do a 1 hour job. Ended up get a local plumber who charge $500 total and said the job was just under $100 in materials. So including the call out fee metropolitan plumbing wanted $2050 for 1 hours work on the job. Please avoid these scabs

Don't get caught as I did...signed up after a sales pitch including "black mould" for a $2,400 quote to "service" our AC Unit with 2 heads... Guy turns up late with a spray bottle and domestic water spray unit, takes 7 hours faffing around to complete a 2 hour clean which included using our hose to clean the outside unit (never taken apart) because the water pressure was better. Spent more time on the phone and videoing the quick clean to show some dirt being removed. Then had the audacity to give a $5400 quote to replace a noisy fan that the "salesman" had advised would be fixed by cleaning. Finally used stand over tactics to ensure payment before leaving which included a $59 fee for "compliance" for an AC clean???. These guys prey on people who expect Companies to be honest and competent, Plumbing & Gas or Metropolitan or Mr Emergency are neither...I got caught, make sure you don't.
