Lyca EU roaming doesn't work as intended in Switzerland
Updated! 2024-09-06 Registration number 2024/xxxxx Oooh i got lucky! Got a reply från konsumentverket.se that i have a registration number with the complaint! Apparently they are going to dig into this and it's about time! When you buy a car and want to drive it you shouldn't have to call a customercenter for them to find out what's wrong or not enabled in my car to be able to drive it cross a state border and it automatically shuts down when taking if for a drive on the highway! The car should work all the way through and so should a mobileservice do as well as it was written in plain text that it should! -------------------------------------------------- My initial response was quite harsh and i apologies for that. The problem is first and foremost that Lycamobile explicitly says on their boards in public, roaming in Switzerland, UK etc. So right out of the bat it should work and i get it that with roaming you need to configure your device to accept roaming. The 27th of June we tested if this Lycamobile that i bought would work with my device with roaming etc and it did! Just perfectly, i watched a 15 minute clip on youtube just to make sure that it works as it should and it did. When we drove to our destination in Switzerland through the Zernez region almost immediately it stopped working and i restarted the device but it was constantly not working at all and there it is. Conclusion is that when a company states that it is present and it works when you purchase something you get the sense that it should do exactly what is written and it simply doesnt. I will quote the Swedish text for what was included at that time: "Det här paketet erbjuder en roaminggräns på 18 GB för EU-länder, med ett tak på 9 GB för brittisk och schweizisk roaming." Even it is updated it states as it did in my package that Swiss roaming is 9GB and my package had slightly more. And when u get 0 bytes out of it i debunk this claim. ARN and Konsumentverket doesn't adress claims below Sek 500 equals to €50 so it's no point to file a complaint. So in this case: Lesson learned! Do not in any way purchase a EU Lyca to expect roaming to work flawlessly outside a EU nation as it simply doesn't work. And i got a nice reply that says that i can't get a refund for a product sold by them. So much for their customercare.
