Shockingly bad - no longer trust Which?

Shockingly bad and completely ruined my perception of Which? as an organisation. Advice was next to useless, ended up paying for 3 years because I was UNABLE TO CANCEL. The website simply doesn't work for cancellations and couldn't get help. The only way I could find to stop paying them was to change the payment method to a virtual card and then freeze the card so the payment couldn't go out! It's crazy that Which? of all people would not make it easy to cancel their service and effectively stole Β£200 from me because I wasn't able to cancel! Really disappointed and expected so much better from Which?

Somewhat helpful to give basic advice and that is all. They refuse to look at the documents! Membership cancellation process is excessively complicated!

The greed of which legal is no different from the greed of other companies

We are four leaseholders in a Victorian house which was converted to 3 flats plus a basement/garden flat. We had a horrible managing agent but got the RTM last year. We hired a new managing agent. We are just four people trying to manage a place on our own with the help of a managing agent who will follow our instructions unlike the previous agent who saw as as cows to be milked and invented all sorts of overcharged jobs to do so they could have a nice commission. We are not a commercial company. We have no profits. I joined which legal and booked an appointment. They cancel it the day before the appointment saying they don't advise RTMs and we should look for a solicitor. Well, if we could afford a solicitor we wouldn't join which legal to begin with. It's disgraceful that Which, the self proclaimed champion of consumers, sees a RTM as some sort of company when we are really just consumers like everybody else. We are somehow survivors from a bad business relation. But which will not advise us. The hipocrisy of it is shocking. RTMs were created so consumers could make their own decision instead of being under the rule of awful managing agents.

Not worth it

The lady assigned to me barely listened to what I had to say and kept cutting me off when I was speaking. She wasn't interested in going into the details of my situation and just gave generic 'advice' that I already knew and is widely available for free on the internet. Such a waste of time and money. I ended the call early and didn't ask all the questions I wanted to ask because the conversation wasn't going anywhere. No point speaking if I keep being cut off. It's not worth the money or the time in my opinion. There are so many other better and free options available online.

Lots of hypes but little substance!

I was first attracted by β€œWhich” brand and paid for the service for one year. It turned out they just outsource to a third party to do it using β€œWhich” brand. I rang to get advice. First person simply took question and then someone called back a few days later but he was more interested in hushing me to finish the call than really wanting to help. Already emailed them to cancel my subscription! You can get more helpful legal advice somewhere else!

I have been a member of which for some time now and have always held them in high regard. It was therefore logical that taking their legal services cover made sense but wow have I been disappointed. I have only had cause to use them on 2 occasions and each one has been a terrible experience. The advisers have lacked clarity on the advice given and worse turned out to be legally inaccurate! They offer little more that what you can find out yourself on google and don't take anything on or act on your behalf

Poor indifferent service from Which Legal

On 2 inquiries to Which Legal for advice. 1st telephone contact - person seemed to fail to understand the question and suggested I email in details of the issue - email sent - however, then received no response to the email. 2nd booked a telephone call with a Which advisor who contacted me outside the allocated time slot and arranged another call for the following day - advice sounded OK but as it involved several points and a suggested initial letter - requested an example letter and was told it would be sent to me . never received. Made another call to Which on what was happening and as a result cancelled my membership.

Dismal advert for the Which Magazine stable.

Like other contributors very disappointed with service - or lack of. Was going to let my membership lapse due to my one previous legal enquiry not being helped. But encouraged to remain with the promise of an 'improved service' and significant discount. Today needed some advice, a yes or no, fairly simple for anyone legally trained. Can't speak to anyone until a slot 4 days hence. Not a good advert for the organisation. A waste of money.

You wait a week for a call but if you make any mistake and miss it you have to wait for another.

I called today to ask about the appointment time they had set and I found out something unbelievable that suprised me as I could never imagine that there exists a paid company that treats its paid customers so unprofessionaly. So they said that if they call for an appointment and I miss the call, I won't be able to call back in let's say 10 minutes and my only choice will be to reschedule. These people say they give unlimited advice before they take your money and when you pay the Β£29 for subscription you find out that for every question you have to wait for almost a week. And if you for any reason miss the call you have to wait for another. If I didn't feel that I wasted my money after being deceived about how their services work, I would laugh so hard as it's amazingly funny to see them appearing as service providers...

Ok for selective issues

I received legal advise on a tenancy issue which as good advise, however, I had to wait three-days before I was able to speak to someone. This was ongoing every time I wanted legal advise. I'm not sure what other legal advise they offer as When I wanted legal advise on purchasing a property, they told me they not handle these kind of cases.

I signed up for almost Β£30 and then a monthly subscription after that of approximately Β£9.00. This is on top of the separate subscription to their consumer magazine and review site. I asked a legal question. I asked several times if this was correct. The young man on the end of the phone assured me it was correct. WRONG!!. Upon ringing up to complain and cancelling my subscription I was informed it was only for consumer issues ie shops, faulty goods etc. and that the person I spoke to was just a call handler! After a complaint I received calls from someone else who informed me they had a law degree or something but wasn't actually legally trained and the information was very "well yes, but it could be this or it could be that". Be aware and don't be taken in by the sales pitch. You aren't talking to real solicitors and their advice isn't very accurate. Save your money.

Disgruntled ex customer

Having been a magazine subscriber for many years I found myself needing legal advice. I subscribed to Which?Legal Services under the impression that I was only eligible for this service because I was a magazine subscriber. I found the legal advice limited and insufficient for the task in hand and within a couple of months was so disappointed with the whole "Which" service that I decided to unsubscribe from both magazine and the legal service. I did this by cancelling subscription payments at the bank and by ringing the Which customer service. However I have recently discovered that Which? Legal Services continued to take their Β£9 monthly subscription from my other bank account for 18 months without my knowledge or approval. I guess I used that account for the initial payment and inadvertently missed the monthly outgoing. I have now been informed by Which that the magazine and the Legal Service are separate entities and cancellation of one does not mean cancellation of the other. Having discussed this with Which? Legal Services they will not give me the Β£153 refund I feel would be the honest and decent thing to do. Granted it is allegedly in the small print of the 'agreement' that you have to ring Which? Legal Services up to cancel but honestly how many people read every line of the terms and conditions. SO BEWARE.

Wrong phone number

Terrible, not even the correct phone number on the website. Do not call 0117 456 6020 as it belongs to an entirely separate company.
