From initial assessment to fitting of the new front door we were kept fully advised on our choice. The technician Mike Taylor did an excellent job and completed it in about four hours.

Job completion in 2 days with no mess

Had one of their scam artists knock my dad’s door all on camera and he was saying a bout a window with condensation and then quoted my father £1000 for a £75 piece of glass. When I then confronted the other representative he said they don’t give doorstep quotes and still tried to argue with me when I showed him the video footage of the incident. After this they both stopped knocking doors and ran off the street. No this is definitely is not how legitimate businesses operate and definitely a scam . I did call their head office and it’s not actually an office just a lady on the phone who told me all head office do is quotes. Unfortunately this time the scam artists picked the wrong home owner who was a retired builder and window fitter !

Jack Brightmore and Luke Hollis were excellent. Very friendly, polite and courteous throughout the entire day. They installed our downstairs windows efficiently and to a very high standard. I am impressed and look forward to working with them again to do the rest of our windows. Thank you!

Managed to mess up the cladding such that we couldn't open the front window. Took a while to get fixed. Then got a quote for windows but when we tried to cancel were threatened with legal action so wouldn't recommend

We are really pleased with our new front door. John who came round and explained the product and process in detail was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and spent alot of time discussing our needs and the options. Kieron who did the actual installation was also brilliant. Really friendly, quick and efficient. We had to have a replacement window put in, Jade Downs the service engineer was very polite, professional and quick. The service was excellent.

I have recently had problems closing & locking the patio door, from the initial phone call with first home improvements they were excellent they sent an engineer out to me within 30 minutes. Jade Downs the engineer knew exactly what to do and solved the issue within 20 minutes. I have had Jade come out a couple of times during the years that I’ve had the patio doors and he’s always been assertive, polite and knows exactly what to do in a crisis. Thank you once again for being there for me.

Mathew (Wick) and Andy (O'Conner) came to fit our windows (10 in all) last week (27th,28th), (both really pleasant guys), they arrived half hour early, which was a promising sign. Very clean working, covered everything with dust sheets, hoovered up and cleaned after each fitting. They worked amazingly fast, in fact they had fitted a window before their official start time (8.00), and due to diligent measuring, everything was a perfect fit. Had a surprise with the living room window which had a huge ant nest under, but this was all quickly dealt with, (seems they came prepared!) Although they worked fast, both were happy to chat while working and this made what would normally be a fairly tumultuous event, pleasantly acceptable. Initially advised two days for fitting, however, due to their enthusiasm and skill, everything was finished cleaned and tidied up by the end of the first day, so even had a free day to myself ! All in all, couldn’t be happier with the windows, the service, or the price, and the windows are such a massive improvement on the old aluminium windows, which created a huge problem with condensation, mould and security, and I’m happy to say we all sleep so much better as it’s noticeably quieter, warmer and more secure. Darryl and Nathan were great, kept us up to speed and were polite and very tidy. Work looks very good and to a high standard, this is the second time we have used First Home Improvements and happy both times.

Avoid at all costs. In my experience, this company uses high-pressure sales tactics that left me feeling uncomfortable and misled. What was described as a "free assessment" became a 4-hour sales pitch where the representative refused to leave and tryed everyting to make me sign his contract. They initially quoted over £13,000 for work that local window companies later quoted for a fraction of that amount. After multiple phone calls to a so-called supervisor, the price was suddenly reduced to £5,000 — still well above the going rate. Please do your research and get multiple quotes before signing anything. I’ve had to tone down this review to comply with Trustpilot’s guidelines, which seem to favour protecting certain "honest" company reputations... Make of that what you will.

Delighted with our new doors. We couldn’t be happier with the service we have received. From the first meeting we had with a representative who was very thorough but also very courteous and helpful to us to the installation performed by Matt Wick and Andy O Conner who were here in very good time for our appointment and got on with the job straight away we couldn’t have asked for a better service. Would happily recommend to anyone wanting similar work done.

Hi would recommend first home improvement to anyone. Frank, David iddon, Ian Gill and the surveyor. For all their help and advice. Also they were very courteous and respective of my home and also me. David and Ian did a great job of fitting the windows and cleaning up everywhere after they finished.
