They are cashing in on the pandemic

DO NOT use this company for your travel insurance, they are cashing in on the coronavirus pandemic by charging considerable administration fees in order to claim a policy refund when a holiday has been cancelled. If you booked a single trip this likely means you will get nothing back. When countless other insurance companies are providing hassle free instant refunds, it really does put this company to shame! Definitely do not recommend them and will be telling others to steer clear too.

The amount of really small print is…

The amount of really small print is ridicules you would think they were trying to hide something. Otherwise it seems OK of course we haven't had to use it yet the star rating would be better requested when you come back off your holidays.

Been trying to contact them for god…

Avoid this company. Still selling policies but they won't be paying out on anything. Been trying to contact them for god knows how long. We took a policy out for a trip that we departed for on March 17. We were supposed to return on May 12. But we've had 2 cancellations since then and have been doing everything to try to get back but cannot even get in touch with these scammers to see if they will cover the cost of a new booking. No doubt they will find some way of wriggling out of this even though there was no lockdown and no restriction on travel when we departed the UK.

Terrible company! Con artists!

Booked a ski holiday in France, when we arrived 14th March, France shut everything down. We were asked to go home asap and all bars shut piste shut etc. Obviously extra costs trying to get home and holiday totally ruined. Direct travel wouldn't pay any money starting government advice said not to travel, but that came in on th 17th March. I'm expected to be able to tell the future! Policy states I'm covered for piste closures and haveing to abandon holiday, direct travel say as it was the government of France that caused it they don't need to pay out! Absolute disgrace of a company, do not touch with a barge poll you are throwing your money away!

Not covering during covid19 if I am not going back to UK.

I got a travel insurance for a whole year as I was planning to travel around Australia. During the covid-19, I decided to remain in Australia as I have savings, work, and this country was dealing better than UK. I decided to help the farmers who lost their farms during bushfires. However my travel insurance didn't specify if I was covered doing "volunteer manual work". I decided to phone and check for advice. I have to say that I spent over a week trying to contact them. Few failed attempts of phone calls where I got hanged up. Then an email which was answered three days later with a totally different answer, and finally, after 5 more attempts of phone calls, I got someone to answer my question. " Due to covid-19 we are asking everybody to comeback so if you are not doing any effort to come back we won't cover you. However if you are trying to come back, we will". I believe this answer was extremely unprofessional and very disappointing. I did pay for a travel insurance for 365 days, and it is not up to the insurance company to finish my trip, as they are not even willing to return my money if I need to short my travel. Very disappointed. Awful customer service. As per the answer given below, they never gave me any response as to why if I pay a full year insurance, why would they not cover me for the duration of the year, unless I am in a process of coming back to the UK even tho I haven't completed my insurance period.

I emailed to request a call back as…

I emailed to request a call back as waiting times were too long. I received a call the following morning and a very pleasant man took me through all the process to amend my policy. The only downside was I had to pay an additional premium due to a change in my health.

Incompetent and bad service

We took out a policy with this insurance company which was expensive but we went with them as the policy looked good and comforting unfortunately that was not the case My wife and sons have been left stranded abroad and been told there is nothing the insurance company will do to help

Not surprised with this company

Not surprised with the company. Due to go on holiday in 4 weeks time to Thailand and tried calling the company today Saturday 21/3/20 at 3pm and office was closed. Surprise surprise 😒
